Evolution: The Deal Breaker
by Hadriel infirst off i do believe there are some evidences of evolution or i should probably say adaptation.
i do believe this exists in various forms.. however the deal breaker for me with evolution is the chick or egg problem.
there are tons of theories that get passed around as proof of evolution however these are usually examples much further down the evolutionary chain.. what i mean is let's start at the beginning!

Your deal breaker and evolution are two separate things.
Go ahead and believe in a divine or intelligent guide at the moment of abiogenesis. There's no evidence or science to base those beliefs on. However science knows little about that moment.
Ones belief in what the initial spark may have been has no bearing on the fact that all life genetically descended from one common ancestor.
So you see, your deal breaker isn't with evolution. Your deal breaker is with something science hasn't established as theory yet.

The thing is, Hadriel, you labeled the original topic "Evolution..." yet all you want to talk about is abiogenesis...separate issues. -

Guys, I understand that there is some evidence that Gravity is a thing, however, there remains one problem for me: where did gravity come from? What is the driver for Gravity? I don't know, scientists haven't given the answer I desire, so I am not so sure Gravity really is a thing. -

I'd rather have unanswered questions than unquestionable answers.
It's unrealistic to expect all your existential questions to be answered at this moment in the stream of time. Which is why it's unreasonable to say "magic happened."
It's far more reasonable to admit, "I don't know," and be okay with not knowing.

But how is that a deal breaker for evolution? You're talking about this "driver" that initiated self replicating proteins. That's abiogenesis and not evolution. How many times must people point out that the two are not one and the same?
Evolution does not exclude a creator. It is a fact. It is real. It is observable. It is repeatable.
Abiogenesis on the other hand is where unanswered questions remain.
However, speciation by means of evolution and natural selection are beyond question.

The ignorance. It hurts.
Fact 1: DNA proves all life came from a common ancestor.
Fact 2: Evolution explains the origin of the species, not the origin of life.
Fact 3: if you acknowledge "adaptation" or "microevolution" are actual things, then imagine the diversity of species if given enough time. Take that thing you call microevolution and multiply it by millions of years. That's evolution.
Fact 4: it's perfectly acceptable to believe in a God and believe in evolution at the same time. The two are not mutually exclusive. Many people accept the fact of evolution and still believe in a God.
Fact 5: people that haven't read the books or examined the evidence for evolution will likely not accept it as fact.
Fact 6: if someone objectively and thoroughly examines the evidence for evolution and rejects it outright because it conflicts with their world view, they are beyond hope and are not worth engaging with.
