  i'm one of earliest adopters of the internet in discovering the real history of the watchtower.

  back then it was the wild wild west with newsgroups being the primary sources of information.

  then came watchtower observer, freeminds, and all the other sites that followed jwd was one of the later sites.

  I'm an old (nearly 40 now) youngster from Laredo and knew you growing up.

  My dad used to have a morning radio show on the local AM station.

  You'll be glad to know I escaped from the cult with my wife and kids. My parents don't really talk to us anymore unless they want to see how the kids are doing.

  But thanks for being there 4 years ago (this month!) when I was going through my crisis of conscience. I read the books you suggested, got a therapist, and it helped a lot. In the end, I escaped, my wife woke up, and my kids aren't being raised in a cult!

  alright, so what is the deal with the thousands coming to the states right at election time seeking asylum?

  i'm not up on this, usually try not to be, but how can this not be manipulative?

  it's either manipulative in the size of the group and pressure that creates, or in where it started or who started this, etc.

  What are y'all talking about? It hasn't vanished from the news. I see reports on it every day or two. Just this past weekend, there was a demonstration by MEXICAN protestors in Tijuana chanting, "This is an inviasion...get out Hondurans."

  you've made the US seem like the evil empire because you've neglected to mention 9-11 and the 3,000 innocent deaths it caused.
  America didn't bomb Afghanistan and Iraq just out of thin air, for the hell of it.
  And I'm not sure what America's action against certain ME regimes has to do with illegal immigrants and other criminals coming to America from the South and Central Americas.
  There seems to be a certain amount of conflation going on ...

  Oh, it's not conflation. It's an outright deflection.

  Things to consider:

  - Law of Supply & Demand: the unchecked influx of cheap unregulated labor will cause wages to decrease.

  - The premise that they're seeking asylum: they are supposedly fleeing central america and seeking asylum. They have been offered asylum by Mexico, yet have refused it. Why?

  Wacky Baccy Eh! Cannabis Now Legal in Canada

  so canada has legalized pot / marijuana / cannabis and you can go to stores today and buy some.

  the local news is covering it here in calgary with crowds of thousands expected at one of only 2 stores licensed in the city but last i saw, there were only 7 people in the line so who knows how popular it will be.

  i imagine all the people who really wanted to get it could already get it easily so this is more about expanding the market to new users who will be less inclined to queue for hours on day 1.. apparently you'll also be able to purchase online with discreet delivery by canada post.

  Should the gangs during US prohibition of Alcohol been pardoned after prohibition was lifted?

  Of course not. You're participating in criminal activity.

  If you parked somewhere and it was a no parking zone, and then later it was changed to a legal parking spot, should you get a refund on your ticket? Of course not.

  You broke the law as it stood.

  If you illegally claimed a deduction on taxes one year and got thrown in jail, and then the next year it was a legal deduction, should you be released form jail? Of course not. You still committed tax evasion.

  If Alcohol and Tobacco are legal, it makes no sense to ban marijuana. All the reasons for banning marijuana can easily be applied to Tobacco or Alcohol.

  I had one friendship affected in these politically divisive times. But I don’t think it was because of politics. I think it was because of thin skin.

  I shared a hilarious meme that was at the expense of Hillary, and he got so offended that I just stopped sharing anything with him or being myself out of fear of offending him.

  Eventually, I realized he wasn’t much of a friend to react so negatively to a harmless meme that I just left the ball in his court to communicate. He never did, and we haven’t spoken in about 2 years now.

  well today marks the beginning and biggest day of our protest at the london excel.. we believe it's a record number at around 100 exjws at the front door.. we spoke to lots of jw's and one young man studying who has quit after talking to us.

  we've been approached privately by jw's who thanked us for coming and the security at the event treated us very well.. if anyone wants to see some clips they are available on my channel the great apostate.. thanks to all for the support and love..

  I tried activism for a while after leaving.

  It seems like a force for "good" and "helping others", but it took an extremely negative toll on me. I looked at my life and tried to figure out what was the source of negativity in my life. #1 was activism.

  They took too many of my weekends. They aren’t getting a minute more of my time.

  Why is he silent about Russian sanctions? What is he afraid of? He is behaving like somebody who is under Putin's thumb. Time will tell.
