In the german town in Texas that I grew up in, they had a festival called "Wurstfest" that just so happened to coincide with Oktoberfest in Germany.
It was common for JWs to attend some of the festivities, especially the amusement rides and food stalls.

It's really crazy how Lloyd and Linus are handling the scandal in a similar way. Everyone is like, "just apologize" and he refuses to.
Saw the thread on Linus and those working conditions are horrible. I feel bad for that person knowing all they had to deal with.
I will say that Linus may not be able to apologize publicly for legal reasons. Much of the incidents detailed by that former employee rise to the level of illegal harassment, sexual discrimination, and hostile working environment. Those conditions leave a corporation open to civil liability. An explicit apology from Linus would be viewed by the court as an admission of fault in any pending legal action against LTT.

If you don't believe in Christ, Jehalapeno, then I guess you feel you've got nothing to worry about.
This would imply that if you do believe in Christ, you have things to worry about.
Why would you believe in something that makes you worry? Doesn't seem like a very nice belief system when you put it that way.

please consider the following scenario.. you're seated on a railway platform bench waiting for your train.
a high speed intercity is about to hurtle through without stopping when you see a small child running to the platforms edge!
When I see threads after they get to be more than a couple pages, I don’t have time to read every single response, but here’s my take on the original hypothetical scenario.
If I was in that situation and had full control of my faculties, I would bear moral responsibility for that child’s death.
I can conceive of an average human freezing and failing to act similarly to how we sometimes freeze as a knocked glass of water wobbles before it spills. Sometimes, we freeze at moments we should act.
However, an omnipotent all-powerful being failing to prevent the child from dying would be evil.
