lastmanstanding: what kind of activist are you?

My previous exjw identity is well known. I prefer not to reveal it in a public forum, since I've decided to not be an active activist any longer because of the negativity the exjw online community has. But let's just say I did a lot of satire videos a few years ago in addition to debunking JW.ORG FAQs. I also wrote two articles for JW Survey and helped Cedars with one of his videos. In addition, I had part of my family's story featured in an article and radio interview on NPR.

My YouTube channel has around 2,000 subscribers.

This thread should be examined by psychology students to show the glaring difference between those that use critical thinking when making a judgment and those that allow cognitive bias to creep into their judgment.

I'm not a Watchtower Troll. In fact, I was quite the activist when I first left.

My issue surrounding this "event" is with the reaction and framing of it.

It reminds me of tabloid journalism. Calling it BOTTLEGATE. People saying, "Oh, he's done for!"

I click on the video and I go, "That's it? That's what everyone's fussing about?"

It's nowhere near the level of a Watergate scandal like everyone is implying.

Here's a list of 10 scandals. You tell me if this "bottlegate" business is worse than any of the others (except the "rolex" incident).

Watchtower Orders Another Hit

according to a recent filing, the watchtower has ordered reddit to give them the name of one of their posters who has used their right of free speech.

they are calling it copyright infringement.

but, we all know this is just another routine "hit" ordered by the watchtower mafia.

clearly a late April fools joke,but I wonder if the decision makers of the WTS realise how much improvement there would be in their organisation if this obsessed,judgemental moron was shunted somewhere else? same with Lett, still them them carry on causing embarrassment

That's what makes me think that there's no secret cabal controlling the org from behind the scenes. It's these morons themselves. Because anyone else that's using them as a front would realize they're a weak link in the chain.

After many years of faithful service, Brother Anthony Morris III has decided to step down from his responsibilities as a member of the Governing Body and other various comittees.

Brother Morris has served Jehovah faithfully for decades as a full time servant. His experience as one "taking the lead" amongst Jehovah's people will serve him well in his new assignment in the Highlands of Scotland.

"The time I spent on the Governing Body has been a humbling experience," Brother Morris said in a statement. "I am grateful to Jehovah for giving me the opportunity to serve him in my new assignment and look forward to sampling the local flavor of Scotland. I also eagerly anticipate visiting the region of Islay. Jehovah's blessings are as restful as peat-smoked malted barley. I agree mostly.

I'm also thinking about my mindset when I first started doubting. One of the first things I came across was something that I felt at the time was nit picky and conspiracy theory-ish. It turned me off from apostate websites for around 6 months. Probably delayed my exit. I was looking for objective criticism of the organization and my first exposure to apostates online was a lot of speculation with little evidence to back it up.

Eventually, I came across JW Facts and the rest is History.

But looking back, I wonder if I would have gained 6 months of my life back had first come across more level-headed criticism like I later found on JWFacts.

When you've only been free for a few years, 6 months of slavery is a long time.

If not, it’s much ado about nothing.
