  so i have started down the path of trying to understand evolution, and to get the linear lies that the jws planted in my head out of it.

  i bought an audiobook called "evolution: what the fossils say and why it matters" by donald prothero.

  i heard it recommended on an atheist podcast that i listened to.

  @shepherdless: lol, you are applying an ENORMEOUS double standard!

  There are things the standard model does not explain like dark matter and other things that falls outside its scope. but within what it tries to explain it is pretty damn precise. tell me a single experiment that it has failed?

  evolutionary theory on the other hand have no explanation for a bunch of stuff, like the origin of thought.

  so if you want to say the standard model has not been proven beyond reasonable doubt bc it does not explain EVERYTHING (like dark matter), you got to apply the same principle to evolution.

  i sat with my board and pieces like a new orleans hooker in a window with a red light, displaying my wanton intentions--eager for action.. last evening in barnes & noble.tuesdays the chess club meets there.. i arrived with my infamous black bag of pawns and rooks and other deadly concealed weapons of regicide--an old warrior in a strange land.. presently, a mother and her son stepped forward.

  he was about 12.____mother: “oh, sir--my son has become obsessed with the game of chess and i thought if hecould play some real games with experienced players he might enjoy that.

  would it be okay if kevin played a game with you?”.

  The standard model of particle physics has not been proven "beyond reasonable doubt". In fact, its inability to explain, for example, "dark matter" is a puzzle, not yet solved.

  ok. has any theory in your opinion been proven beyond reasonable doubt?

  by your standard evolution certainly hasn't as there are still a lot of stuff evolution does not explain well atm...

  no theory can explain everything, so no theory is proven beyond reasonable doubt, so we are back to relativism???

  are you saying the standard model is not tested beyond reasonable doubt, or are you saying it does not matter in physics if there is reasonable doubt about.a theory???

  @shepherdless: Normally theories in science has to be proven to a high degree of confidence before they are accepted like with the Higgs particle; They already thought it was there, but nevertheless they build the big electromagnetic donut shaped thing to prove it beyond reasonable doubt. They did something similar with Einsteins theory recently but I can't remember the details. You see what I mean?

  BTW You think I am a christian or creationist or something?? Believe it or not, it is possible to write things Cofty don't like without being a christian!

  What can I say, I have seen many times that people who believe in darwinism say it is proven without saying that some parts of it is proven and other parts are not...

  Just so you don't have a stroke: by "proven" I mean "proven beyond all reasonable doubt" and "darwinism" I mean "evolution".

  Please stop saying 'lol'.

  Here is my post for easy reference. Tell me what part of it you find objectionable.. asides the fact you know better than wikipedia about darwinism (LOL)

  my 2c: the problem is ppl who believe in darwinism fail to acknowledge darwinism is many things -- some are proven beyond all reasonable doubt, other things are very speculative. so saying it is all proven to be true is really overstating the evidence, and similarly when a creationist say it is all doubtful he too is overstating the evidence. IMO thats why so much of the discussion is not useful.

  NOBODY EVER claimed everything about evolution is already known or proven

  Jesus Christ that was my damn point, that it was wrong to say everything about evolution was known and that mistake lead to many problems.

  So after all the name calling you agree with me... lol...
