  Anyone watching Star Trek Discovery?

  so i've been watching the show and really enjoying it.

  great to see a trek tv series finally get a reasonable budget.

  beautiful costumes, sets, cinematography, action pieces, etc.. really my only complaints are how cg all the ships look and there's a fair bit of stiff dialog from time to time.. what do you guys think of the show?.

  Im watching it. I didn't get the whole subplot with the geeky guy from the prison who had but-sex with the Klingon lady and then turned out to be Klingon himself??? like when did they make him into a human? That seems pretty silly. Also I don't get which Klingon he was supposed to be.

  I am near the end of season 2, and it seems to get a bit SJW preachy with all the "all choices are the same" crap. If it was me, I would be all like: Lets just turn Tarran and barbecue the annoying tall alien!

  It would be a pretty cool season 3 where they travel the galaxy and eat all the aliens lol.

  more than 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist's experiments, and more than half have failed to reproduce their own experiments.

  i didn't know it was so widespread...but it's a big problem in biology/medicine..

  @Whatshallcallmyself: Look at it this way: There are N things for man to discover about nature (like evolution, or newtons law, and so on). We have discovered some number of them, and so it stands to reason there are now less things to discover.

  @steve2: just look at the references on the previous page. Gad Saad has a lot of material on how bad social sciences are (google him).

  It is probably by design. They know they got nothing on the Nunes memo, so they make sure their memo cannot be released and then they can attempt to blame Trump.

  Lots of research is today confirmed to be a scam. In my opinion, part of the reason is there are more researchers today, and less to discover (obviously). So they compete and compete and obviously they will slip up or make things up to get ahead.

  Then there is social science, which should just be shut down, period!

  Falcon Heavy

  the falcon heavy is set to launch today.

  if successful, it will become the most powerful rocket in use (twice as powerful as the delta heavy).. as it's the very first attempt, elon musk has said he thinks there's a 50/50 chance of it not blowing up.

  so should be interesting.

  Elon has been getting billions from the US government in various ways.

  As a lover of science, I 100% agree that this was a very Impressive launch, but we should not kid ourselves about who is paying. That is why I think it is a bit lame to turn it into an advertisement for his underperforming car business.

  Typical you need to be a Trudau-whisperer to interpret his answers correctly. If he spoke plainly none of this would be a problem. This is exactly why someone like Trump has the advantage.
