"Despite years and thousands of tracts left in boxes, we have had a single enquiry or follow up from them."
Yep, that pretty much sums it up - see my recent post about the complete ineffectiveness of the work.
watchtower's leaked video.... watchtower's preaching initiative sift.

i thought this was all about the 18th century.
but its current or just post current times.
.
I love how the regime is called Gilead, as is the watchtower society missionary school. Lovely how they name both after the city which the Bible claims: "Gilead is a town of evildoers, covered with footprints of blood." - Hos 6:8
Nice!

Yes love it. Brilliant novel and brilliant series. Elizabeth Moss great actress too.
Consider what it says about your favourite Bible characters from Abraham to Jacob to King David
Handmaid = concubine
I know, I know, all the apologists will argue that its not the same, that concubines were like extra wives with many of the rights of a wife. But really, how do they know that? Isn't it really just another form of sex slavery by another name (euphemism)?
bible contains too much human thinking presented as though from god, thus much of its information brings dishonor to god.. yet it contains great beneficial truths behind the symbols it uses.
let us take the only two cases of miracles jesus performed without any request from anybody which would show the very purpose of his ministry:.
1) jesus healed a woman who “was bent over and could not straighten up at all.” (luke 13:11-13).
OK, explain please how that works?

I was going to reply to your comments on my post @Ireneus but then you had me at "Past Regression Therapist" and I realised there was no point.
I'm very sorry, but I don't understand how you left the pseudoscientific and theological nonsense of the WT Society only to become entrapped by more of the same.
can someone direct me to jw refutations of the harsh criticisms of charles russell and judge rutherford that are on the internet and youtube?
i am a fair person and insist on hearing both sides to a controversy.
in this case, i would like to know what traditional yw responds to such personal criticisms and alleged changes in beliefs.
@vienne, very glad to hear how much research there is still to be published. Looking forward to it.
I know there are internet sites that have pretty dramatic claims about Russells continuing business interests but they are very poor in terms of references or citations if at all. Is that something you will be touching on at all in the next volumes, or are you keeping things very much focused on the theological developments? I would love to know more about if it can be substantiated from reliable sources...

There's so many bad things about Rutherford that have been confirmed by eye-witnesses and the societies own original documents that there is no need for those more out there speculative things anyway. The flawed character of the man is well documented without trying to add unsubstantiated stories about adultery etc....

@vienne, really looking forward to volume 2.
I would love it if you continued on into the Rutherford era. But understand the enormous amount of work that is involved. What you have done so far is much appreciated.
i just had a thought inspired by @newboy's recent post:.
why is it that despite the watchtower corporation being arguably the biggest publishing house in history, having produced billions of tracts, brochures, magazines, books for o very 100 years, and having the largest army of volunteer publicity agents on the planet, that 99% of the population is still clueless as to what their message is all about?.
if you ask random people what jw's beleive you will rarely get the so-called "good news": gods kingdom is going to soon usher in a paradise earth and fix all the worlds problems under the 1000 year reign of christ.. you will instead get: "they're the people who... 1. don't celebrate christmas or birthdays, 2. don't take blood, 3. go around with the watchtower, 4. have big assemblies... etc etc".

Maybe God should get the stones to cry out, because the system he's used for the last 100 years hasn't really worked!
Instead of advertising the King and his kingdom (ADV at 1922 convention) as Rutherford envisioned, all that has been advertised is the blood issue and the pagan origins of worldy holidays!

I agree with you to a point that the only value to be found from the Bible is metaphorical, or I would suggest as a sociological study of mans struggle to understand the world and his place in it. As the most famous book of the western world it is indelibly entwined in our culture. Whether what it contains is true or not, inspired or not, it is part of our cultural heritage.
However, how can you make the claim that it dishonours God? First you have to demonstrate that he exists. Secondly you would have to demonstrate what God actually wants/feels/command in order to contrast that with what the human writers of the Bible claimed he wants/feels/commands, in order to show there is a difference and that the Bile is this dishonouring him or misrepresenting him in some way.
