Question on the sun created in the fourth day

in the first day elohim created light, and it was day and night in the first day.

then in the fourth day he created the sun, the moon and the stars.

of course, it did not actually happen, but what did the writer have in mind?.

I'm not a scholar or anything like that...I noticed that as well. God is light...The elements were made for mankind...If this creation story is true and you want to believe in God...The bible is a simple book, it's us humans that want to dissect it and try to make sense of if....If you read Rev. 21:23: And the city has no need of sun nor moon to shine on it, for the glory of God illuminated it and it's lamp was the lamb.....Now for those who are not angry with the org. anymore but still believe in God....this is what I think....God created everything...he didn't need no light, stars nor moon, all these elements were made for us....we need the sun for heat and the moon to light the sky...these elements were put in place for us...what use is the Sun and Moon for God...Also, again for those who still believe in God...See Rev. 22:5: Also, night will be no more, and they have no need of lamplight or sunlight, for Jehovah God will shed light upon them....Once again, we see here that God is light....The org. can't explain it nor acknowledge the God in Genesis....The earth was created just the way the bible says...first there was light...God is God all by himself...verse 17 says Thus God put them (luminaries) to shine upon the earth...verse 15 mentions the same thing...God didn't need no light to do what he did....we need the light...if this story of God is true...then how awesome God really is....When you read Genesis and see just how creation came to be.....then one can understand God...God just created everything to re-create itself...EVERYTHING..if he didn't he'd have to create everyday...everything has it's own seed. The society doesn't grasp this in Genesis...they preach and teach about God but this account in Genesis goes right over their heads...I pointed it out to a brother one day....he's pretty smart...so when I showed him, I was just pointing out how awesome God is and he said, well it's not that God is light it's the sequence of events...phooey...I didn't say that to him but I thought Man, you are so smart, you know the scriptures from back to front...but you can't see what these scriptures are saying...but the org. does say some will be blind...I like finding some of these gems...but keep them to myself...I believe in God, not the God that man says he is..but the God that I know is love because he sent his son because he loves us....and I hope for the resurrection, because to tell you the truth....I would like to come back and live a carefree life...sure it may be a fairytale, but it beats thinking....YOU'LL NEVER COME BACK...

I don't know if God is real or not....I choose to believe....I see many errors not in the bible but in man....It's not the places of worship that make people leave and not believe in God, it's the folks in these places that run folks out.

This is how I see Genesis...and commented for those who may still believe in God but not the org. Yet, those of you who don't believe in God, I do not judge...to each his own...

Thoughts on African Americans and Slavery

let's start by saying that slavery is of course a terrible thing, one of the worst crimes imaginable, and that "slavery" rarely implies good treatment, anything noble or defensible.

nowadays, even god doesn't escape judgement from our enlightened views with passages about slavery in the bible usually glossed over because they are shameful.. but not all slavery was equal.. because of the media, movie industry, racial tensions in the us regularly shown on the news and our taught history, i think most people's knowledge and idea of slavery is that of the north atlantic slave trade where white people took africans to work in cotton fields.

this idea is probably also re-enforced because the largest group of descendents of slaves we see today are african americans (usually in the us or places they subsequently migrated to).. but it's incomplete.. it's only when you look into it more that you discover that there was much more to the slave trade than that, otherwise it would have been just called "the slave trade" and not "the north atlantic slave trade".. some 12.5 million slaves were taken from africa to the us with just under 11 million surviving the trip so it obviously took a terrible toll immediately, even before any maltreatment once they landed in the americas where conditions and treatment were truly awful.

So what's people to be called....humans... & of course there are places like America, but there is no place like America. It's a place where you can make $$$ and then go back where you came from...I ride the train and taxi's daily, more folks from every where than you can count. I don't think you agreed with my opinions....and that's just what they are....

We can agree to disagree and not be disagreeable....

ok, so i don't know if this is "old news", and if this has been seen, and or mentioned already.

if it was, i do apologize, but i feel i have to mention what has been seen on tv, within the past 24 hours.. first off, i would like to say that i did not personally see this commercial.

however, it was seen by someone that i can verify 100% is telling the truth, as it was my own father who saw it.

I was being sarcastic....I know this isn't persecution, but the org. will see it as such. Because they would never admit that there was child abuse and that they never told the police...Child abuse is everywhere....so the org. doesn't understand that folks ain't angry because they have child abusers in the org, but it's how they handle it that. They will do anything to make the org. appear clean. They don't want the friends to think of that. They don't give the friends credit to think ok, we have pedophiles but why wasn't the police alerted. See they know we think these things but because we are afraid to say it, the org. feels they can go on hiding...because the friends are forbidden to say or ask anything..

I think it's amazing how this fire started in NYC.....a little ole law firm...who knew...now I'm not saying this is Gods work but......

Many of the friends will have seen it or saw it, but they will never mention it...but what's really interesting when you come to think about it....you can't be called an apostate...for just looking at regular TV. The papers that said it too can't say they were apostate newspapers...nope, no one can be accused of getting this info from an apostate site...

I wonder if this is the beginning of a changed org???

Hi All,

Let cut through the chase here...Slavery is and will always be about free labor and money...It has nothing to do with mankind at all....as always..

This country was built by robber barons.... but it's the only country I know where you can talk about the gov't and not get arrested....why so folks come from other countries then want to have a parade in America to celebrate the country they just left...I could go on....Don't get me wrong, it's a great place but I'm a citizen and know exactly how America rolls....

Native Americans, now let's just break that down...the word native implies that person is from that place...Native Americans...isn't that redundant....they were the original Americans, so what's the need to add native in front of their name...they should be called American American, right?...We always have to identify those who are not of the Caucasian persuasion...African American, what about folks who are from the West Indies...they are not African Americans, Latin American's. and so on...

Read the history of America....again, Slavery is all about the almighty dollar.....most people who have never had slaves in their family or the background of slavery, how would they know...most immigrants stopped off at Ellis Island...there are records of folks family arriving...regarding slaves....they came by boat but never Ellis Island...Unless you are a black person, you'll never get it...unless you get stopped just because you have a certain type of car, you won't understand...when the cops pull you over just because, you'll never understand. Just like Black folks will never know what it's like to be white...oh yeah, they'll get a taste of it, but the privilege of it no...

Jehovah (God, wonder why Gods' name is a Jewish name, ah, that's another topic all together). God changed the rules...in the OT you had to jump through hoops to please God, festival of this or that, go in the room with incense, don't enter this room, kill the lamb on this day don't cut it that way and such....Now God has changed the Game plan...he's put before mankind to take the place of all this religious antics & said....Believe I'm sending my son...not Michael but my son, to clear up all this stuff you humans have made up on your own to please me..so I'm changing the game....Believe in My Son, Jesus Christ, tell everyone you know about him...check him out, see how he lives on earth...he's an example of what I want you people to imitate...you know be good to one another....yeah, read your bible, see how Jesus treated folks...could you do that for me...again, I've changed the game....Believe in my son, believe he rose from the dead, believe I raised him from the dead and he walk among you...Believe he gave his life because I asked him to, don't you remember he said he really wanted to do it but he would do it cause of me his father (God). So people, those that believe their is a God, that's all I'm asking...Just believe in my son, don't believe he & I are the same, he really is my son, just wanted to show you what I would do for you...now I know some of you don't believe in me nor the Bible, that's your choice...

So all that to say is that God wants us to believe in his son Christ Jesus & the resurrection. & if a fairy land mind, wouldn't we all like to come back and be happy ? Who wouldn't

Didn't read everyone's comments...Slavery....ummm, where should I start....It's America's little dark secret. The US never thought slaves would be free, they wanted free labor. Black History is so deep, I'm black and there isn't a day, I don't find out something about blacks back in the day and how we got over...

America is always looking for free labor or cheap labor, everyone that comes to the US, starts off at the low part of the totem poll, give them a minute, they are living next door.

America was built on the backs of Blacks...they built the White House, & yes some blacks where allowed in the White House, but they were slaves...Then here comes Obama....a Black Man in the White House....how dare he blemish our most sacred WHITE HOUSE..again, think why did they name it the White House...it was their mentality back then & still now.

When Blacks talk about slavery, many people squirm, and say, well, that was then, not now...yet, the Jews tell their story of the Hollacost as soon as the baby comes out of the womb....this is to let the child know...what their folks went through and don't take what you have for granted..again when blacks try to talk about it we never get a chance to finish...yes it does make people uncomfortable. Yet, they tell us to get over it....when 911 happened folks were just so devastated, oh how could they do this to the US...on & on, well, this is what I say, you want blacks to get over slavery....get over 911..

The reason for slavery is very simple money...why was there a war between the north and the south...no folks it wasn't about freeing the slaves, it was that the South was making more money then the north...even Lincoln said he wouldn't have freed the slaves if the didn't have to, but he need soldiers...& we blacks wanted to be in accepted in the society, so they went to fighting thinking it was about freeing them...no not that at all. Same thing for blacks in the Org. they just want to fit in to main society & be accepted, that's why many blacks are witnesses....and along with other nations we are all slaves of the GB's...The GB's live on a big plantation with the house slaves, while the GB's are drinking their mint julips on the porch. We rank & file are out picking cotton aka: preaching & teaching....and giving our money to the Masters (FDS) so they can extend plantations all over the world for other masters to crack their whips....

We blacks forgot to tell our young ones how blacks made it through, that's why our young ones don't understand and believe life is easy and stuff is handed to them. But if they knew our history, they wouldn't take this life they have for granted....because as crazy as it seems, slavery could happen again...

That's all for now....I could tell you more...but as Jack Nicholson says...You can't handle it...LOL

Sisters as Ministerial Servants?

my wife has been trying to convince me that the organization is hinting at the possibility of making some older sisters ministerial servants.

she is awake to a lot of the false doctrines, but is still clinging to the hope that the org may become more progressive in the future.

anyone else pick up on this?

They would have to have a new light...but 1 Cor. 14:34-35: women keep silent IN the congregation, for it is not permitted for them to speak, last line of verse 35 says for it is disgraceful for a women to speak IN the congregation. And I know why ? The females got so much to say to whoever they sit next to during the service, what could be so important that it has to be said then, always digging in their bags, looking to look holier, sanitizer, then comes the lotion, oh yeah they have to offer you some, like you don't mositurize before you get there...I don't think this scripture is saying that at all...it's telling Women to keep quiet during the meeting....It said IN the congregation not to the congregation...I'm a witness and women can be very distracting, just busy, or antsy I should say. Don't let them have a hubby, oh my, it's like they don't talk at home...but if that particular day she don't want to talk & she is in her holy mode, shhhhh....happened to me...a sister and her hubby talked all through the meetings...about what I couldn't tell you, yet when I would sit next to her & said one thing, what a look, or If I sat next to someone & she was in earshot, she said, I heard you guys talking all through the service, you know we're supposed to be quiet during the meeting...it took all I had not to say, Really so when you and your hubby are talking.......but I didn't...Nerve

So back to female MS. They would have to provide a new light...I think I got one...it's in Gal.3:28, where it says there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor freeman, there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in union with Christ Jesus (Not Jehovah: that's another Topic). If they still insist on 1 cor. they can say the understanding that Paul meant for females not to talk during the service, but after careful research and the Holy Spirit we now understand that Paul didn't mean they shouldn't teach. So we have a new light...which the holy spirit directed us to....Gal 3:28....isn't that wonderful friends....applaud applaud...then I would like to say your More'on it's not a new light, it's been there all the time, you just didn't want to use it...but you saw it.

Let's get this straight...no matter what we see at the hall...the males ain't in charge at home...Mama rules the home... and the hall behind the scenes...

It's in Luke where Jesus tells his buddies what will happen in the last days...in Luke Jesus says, these signs will not happen until they are handed over...I think this is all they'll need to really say the end is here...watch out you all.

Hi NiKl,

No, I don't see you as stupid...you felt you belonged and that you had a place to fit in. Like so many witnesses, I don't think they don't see certain scriptures but you may have had a sense of belonging and felt religiously safe. Your life was nice and neat now....you were able to check mark your life. &&&& you were young...

I'm still active, I know we are supposed to witness for Jesus....if the org. represented/witnessed about Jesus it would be a different religion.

a couple of examples of scriptures hardly ever quoted is 1 tim.

2:12- "i do not permit a woman to teach, or to exercise authority over a man, but to be in silence".

or verse 11- "let a woman learn in silence with full submissiveness.".

To dispute Michael is Jesus...Hebrews 1:4-5: So he has become better than the angels to the extent that he has inherited a name more excellent than theirs. 5: For example: to which one of the angels did God, ever say,."You are my son; today I have become your father? And again: I will become his father, and he will become my Son?

Another scripture that I think shows that Jesus is Jesus not Michael; Luke 2:21:in part it says he was named Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived. In the King James it says which was so named of the angel before he was conceived...so the org. should have used the King James version if they wanted to prove Michael was or is Jesus.
