Is God impressed?

so a young baptized brother gets to run the microphones.

so he eagerly runs up and down the isle passing the microphone.

he's so happy because "he's being used by jehovah".

No God is not impressed...the hours...full time pioneer, public witnessing, JW.org, and so on....these tools are only to validate us...God don't need no hours, or for you to carry a microphone....all these activities are to keep us busy and to be seen. Isn't there a scripture where it says Jehovah can use the rocks to tell of the good news...

Some folks can be a part of a congregation and just be Joe Blow Or Josephine Blow. Many witnesses would like to just be that & like myself , I do what I can when I can....I have no desire to pioneer, to add more burden to my schedule than I already have no need to hear my name from the platform for pioneering....many witnesses need approval of man, and we all know how long that last. This religion is good for folks who need to stay structured and busy, they are running away from themselves...

I've noticed many come on this site and may be studying and want to know what to expect. Many times I just want to say, if you can be a witness without validation, you will be ok in the org. If you need constant approval and attention, you won't last because the attention and approval doesn't last forever.

Witnesses have a laundry list of what they think will get them God's approval, walking around looking depressed, broke, sickly anything that's negative they think they are making points with God....When life becomes a little uncomfortable for a witness & that could be anything...standing on line for more than 5 minutes, they will look up in the sky and say, No wonder Jehovah wants to get rid of this system...like they and Jehovah are on the same page....gimme a break....

Is Jehovah impressed with us...I don't think so, isn't he going to destroy humans 2 more times....Some how he can't rid humans of sin, he tried to wash it away in the flood (didn't work), now he's supposed to burn sin away, then wait another 100 years and try to rid sin again.... I wonder if Jehovah is thinking how can I create humans with free will but that they won't sin....ummm....free will and sin...well maybe if I get rid of the Devil...that just might be the ticket, get rid of bad, then humans won't be tempted to do bad....well anyway, that's my take on how I feel God feels...

A short story, regarding Is God impressed, I am a witness, but not a kool-aide drinking witness. I was talking to a sister one day and we were talking about flowers...and how she loves them but hates artificial flowers and hates when people have artificial flowers and plants in their garden or backyard. She says it's an insult to Jehovah, I said really, if you feel that way, why don't you volunteer to help plant flowers for them. You don't know why they have artificial flowers, maybe they are disabled, or allergic, whatever. Then I said it...I had to say it...I asked do you think you just impressed God by saying that....(not one sound)....many witnesses say and do thinks because they think God is like humans...God doesn't do anything for nothing...

we must love one another.. if i read the posting guidelines and saw the lurking presence of that new commadment " we must love one another" i would feel very uneasy about registering.

it sounds more like a threat than an expression of love.

Love is a feeling, just like, LIKE, is a feeling...in the words of Bonnie Rait, "I can't make you love me if you don't, I can't make you feel something you don't". That pretty much sums it up....we can't love everyone, because we can't know everyone...You can't command love, you can change your heart to feel....because many folks have put up a wall of protection for whatever reason....some have loved so deep, and was hurt, they dare not to love again...and there are so many scenarios of why folks love and why some don't....

To me Like is a stronger word than Love...we love hamburgers, we love a good hot cup of coffee, etc...but like is another story....to me...when you like something....you go beyond love...like is deeper...like can take a licking and keep on ticking....when you like your spouse, friend, boy or girlfriend, you are more likely to forgive them, but when you love someone, it's seems so hard to forgive because the love feels betrayed...like goes with the flow....

In the words of Rodney King..."Can we all just get along"....we can at least be civil to one another. Even when you are in life you will love some or like some....you will feel closer to some then not so close to others...everybody doesn't deserve a front row seat in your life.... You can choose to get along with folks...or you can choose not too...nobody can command you to love....but they suggest...just to keep the peace

Hi,

I think it's a good idea to suggest we love one another...some on here may have an issue with the word command...especially since many here were JW's and were always commanded what to do....

If everyone on this web-site showed respect and love for one another not because you have to but because we should want to...many come from an un-loving environment...now many are out of that environment...so then show it...many complained no love in the hall, then it's your turn to show it...Imagine if most of us helped each other with our wounds and try to heal one another instead of debating one another...

Many on this site are out...show love and help those who want to come out or sitting on the fence that there may be conditional love in their families and in the hall but not out here in the world....when lurkers come to this site they should see what they never saw in the hall...Love and if not love than respect...We are the new lights and the new understandings of the scriptures....we know what God wants of us (I'm talking to those who still believe in God).

Most witnesses have no idea what love is...talk to many of them about their home environments, most kind of shaky....most joined when they were at the end of their rope....When a knock came at the door it was a life saver and many grabbed it....many came into the society & they had nothing left in their hearts....

Witnesses can DF so easily because they have no idea what love is...it's not something you can turn off or on...it's this feeling that grabs a hold of your heart and most of the time you can't shake it....when a friend says to me how they commend someone for not associating with their love one because they are df'd and they were faithful to Jehovah...I just shake my head (in my mind) and say, how sad you are...how can say something like that & think you are impressing God...and believe me....that's what they think...what type of person would think that....a person with no heart.....I can see if the df'd person was a mass murderer or some type of criminal but just because they don't want to be a JW....phooey...

DF'ing is just a form of control...just like in the churches...hell is another form of control to instill fear in the masses...Man has always held type of fear over our heads to make us act right...

So, what I take from your heading is that we should show the lurkers that even if some are not witnesses anymore we should be kind to one another so they make take the plunge and get out or at least change their minds about folks who are not witnesses or who left or told to leave witnesses...

We on this site should treat each other the opposite we are treated at the hall...so we can say to those who are lurking on here....Come on in The Water is Fine....Welcome...

Watchtower No.3 2017 - The Four Horesmen

this is the first time i've read through a watchtower magazine in about a year.

although i've been our only 8 months it really git me how crazy i must have sounded when i was a jw talking to non jws.. while other bible based religions talk about the 4 horsemen and back up their theories with other scriptures or historical evidence, the watchtower have taken so such steps.

1914 is thrown in there as if it's universally agreed that jesus started ruling since then.. even when i was a jw i never really understood why, if the pale horse represents jesus, why is he first?

Exactly. So now the WT has called Jesus the anti-Christ....now that's a boo boo...other religions believe Jesus is God, that's a heck of a way better than what the WT thinks Jesus is...Isn't there a scripture that says do not be mislead by those who say Jesus is here or there...

I saw this way back when I first got baptized...I mentioned it to my former bible conductor...I said, how can Jesus open up the seals call and then ride out...then she says it's like a domino theory....whatever...I knew she was gone, so no sense in pointing it out to her...but when it comes up again, she'll see it...I'll just mention if this is Jesus on the white horse, why only a bow and no arrow...then she'll say wait...hold on, she will short circuit then I'll say, look at the scripture then look at the picture....wouldn't you agree God wrote the bible so that even children can understand it....Jesus said unless we come to him like a child ......so the passage reads just like it is...The first horseman isn't Jesus...he may be the one that ushers in the appearance of peace....or whatever...but none the less....that ain't Jesus....again the sword is always used in describing Jesus...like they say the bible(the word) is alive and like a sword that goes through marrow....

For those who believe in God, he ain't going to cotton to well that his org. is calling his son an anti-Christ....woe unto JW's....maybe that's why so much is slowly leaking out about the society...it's leaking from the bottom....not a lot of publicity....slow and steady...like water dripping on a rock...eventually the rock erode....look how long it took for the Catholics to be exposed....it took a long time....what the org. doesn't realize is if they ever came clean, folks would still come to the hall, but it would be because they want to but not out of fear of man.

My thing is, why does the org. have to constantly explain stuff, stuff nobody really cares about....stuff most of the friends don't even know...as the bible says they are being tossed about with all the flip flops...

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out how to plant a seed when this magazine comes out...well, I'll just see if the opportunity presents itself...no use in plotting... the best way is to be nice and drop a little tiny hint...and it's all in your tone...you have to be as innocent as a dove...

&&& forgot to add that Jesus is the sword...the sword usually comes out of his mouth....that's what most of the scriptures say about Jesus...

The 4 horsemen are to bring in the great wrath...if read properly, not through the eyes of any org. or religion. The first horsemen is not Jesus...the way this horsemen is described he was on a white horse...doesn't mean white is right...or peace...also, the lamb opened up the seals...how can he ride out & then come back to open up the other seals and call out...& still keep riding...what's the purpose of calling out the first horseman ?

&&& This would be a great comment...the 1st horsemen has a bow without an arrow....what good is a conquerer without an arrow...what happens does Jesus get off the horse and hit his enemies...and if that happens that means he has to continuously get off his horse...no....the org. got this all wrong...but if any of us is alive in a few years this too will be a new light of understanding...but maybe not...because this will show how they misrepresented Jesus....nah, that wouldn't go down right...it would be like admitting 1914 is wrong....but you never know...

Wonder if anyone will notice the illustration doesn't match the scripture....maybe a lurker will...

This is clear that you can tell the rank and file anything...but I think many already know that this illustration isn't true but why upset the apple cart...they belong, they are accepted and protected....this is where they get their worth and self esteem even though they need others to give them self esteem, but if others have to give you self esteem, how is that SELF esteem.

The handling of child abuse allegations

there's a lot of criticism surrounding the jw's handling of chiild abuse within their ranks with a lot of it being well deserved.

but i'm interested to know how people on here think child abuse allegations should be handled.

there's a few scenarios below, the first couple are easy then it gets a bit more complex.

There is only one scenario....call the police...then the elders or, call the police and the elders at the same time and they take it from there.

This site has had many topics regarding child abuse...everybody has this or that suggestion.....why isn't the easiest thing to do is call the police...We all know why the elders/org. don't want to involve the police....to keep the org. name clean....not to mention how much they point fingers at other religions....

Why is this so hard to figure out...could be that, our society doesn't look at having sex with a child or touching a child is that bad, after all, how many males can't wait until a female is at least 18. Having sex or touching a child has been around a long time....males have been doing it forever, females too, and now it's starting to get the attention it needs...If more females were exposed more than men, then we would see a difference in the law. There are sick folks who prey on little children...but let's not forget some of these young folks today, my oh my...they are so mature looking....and some of the females today are running men down...so there are so many situations...

Still'''in, you ask what makes police so adequately qualified....they are the police, at least the incident has been reported...and the congregation is put on alert .....even if it is a he said she said.....find out...but I guess keep the org. clean at any cost....

I'm so sorry to hear that Mom has blocked you...At times I really don't know how to comment on situations like this one...part of me says well, why would you want to stay in touch with someone who only has conditional love, is it worth it...then I remember, we are talking about a person's parent...so it's not so easy to be so cavalier about it. I have a great relationship with my Mom, I'm a witness and she's not....I don't try to change her nor her me. We both believe in God and that we are blessed and we are...then I think, well, sometimes a parent parents the way they were taught, so maybe this conditional love is generational.

I've heard of families being broken up for various reasons, money, drugs, alcohol, etc...some of these situations can really break up a family if taken to the extreme, and yet, sometimes a family can break up for the least little reasons...So witnesses are saying...if you don't worship like me then I won't talk to you anymore...ummmm, is that love?

I know of a similar situation...a friend of mine had to take guardianship for her nephew because her sister decided to be a witness and the son didn't so she basically disowned him....yet she goes to the meetings religiously...& doesn't even care about her own flesh and blood....

When you come to think of it...something has to be deeply wrong with a person who can turn their back on a child or love one...in this instance just because they won't worship the same as they do...

But here's a sobering thought...as time goes on and the mother needs help in her elderly years....let's see who will be there for her..no doubt it will be the one child or grandchildren she blocked...yep, life is funny that way...I know a female, her Mom gave her away at birth to another family member, kept the other children when the mom got sick who was the one that came to the mom's rescue...you got it...The child she gave away...the child she gave away stayed and took care of her mom until she died...did the other KEPT children help...NO...

I'm wondering can a person have a pretty balanced upbringing and be a witness...so far, I don't think so.

Again, you hit the nail on the head....you are right...when JW's come out of the shadows then and only then will the society be exposed. There are famous witnesses but they believe it's the truth...they are in the background...still living the good life ....some are active and some are inactive...but they would never talk against the truth...

I can't remember his name....he plays on the series Empire, ah I remember Terrance Howard, I think he was a witness or raised a witness and he said if he wasn't in Hollywood the only religion he would be in is the Truth because it is the truth....The Jacksons, The Williams Sisters, Larry Graham, & I think a female from the view if she still is on the air, the view changes hosts, so who knows,this is just to name a few. Oh lets not forget Prince..when he was alive did he say one word about how they took his money......they would never step up and say anything against the org. because as far as they are concerned, They are not worthy....so even if they were mistreated by the org... They would never step up to say anything...

New light in this weeks WT?

That's what I took away from this week's WT...if the FDS or a FDS wasn't appointed until 1919, who was feeding the friends the food? I was sitting next to someone....it was so hard not to say this...then I did say....this is a new understanding...so nice for them to explain, I didn't know what the other understanding was? They just smiled, because they were born in..

This whole thing is PR for them, they are changing their image and TELLING THE TRUTH. See we are transparent, we are telling you how the org. has progressed....& the friends will eat it up, why? Because what other religion admits they were wrong....I hear it all the time....as many say, it really doesn't matter whether the society is wrong it's that they swallow their pride and say they were wrong...HOW HUMBLE...but what the friends don't know is what they aren't saying...pedophiles, cover-ups, real estate, what goes on behind closed doors, what goes on at Bethel, who had a mistress & so on...nope, won't tell that...just feed them some truth...see we are transparent we don't hide anything....Yeah, sure you don't...

When I read the entire article, that point was the only point I got out of this week's WT study...who was feeding you'all..

They keep re-writing stuff because they don't know what the heck either...the FDS is this..the wheat is with the tares...they were picked already, no, not yet, Jesus said he was or is coming...what the heck? They are just as confused as the friends..except they have good writing skills.
