JWs Like to Take Away Hope...

i think the worst thing about jws is that they like to take away peoples realistic hopes for a happy life now and replace it with false hope for the future.

tell a jw you want to go college and get a good career and they'll tell you that college is a waste of time, that you'll end up in debt or that the economy is so bad there are no jobs.

tell a jw about how scientists have discovered a new technology that could improve millions of lives and they'll tell you that scientists and technology have "ruined the earth" and cannot be trusted.

Many JW's are not very well learned....that's some of what they attract....so many of them that are unlearned believe whatever the org. says. why because they learned to read and reason. So it makes them grateful and hang on every word the org. says...now, many folks who are not very educated come in various attitudes..one that comes to mind is someone who couldn't read now can cite scriptures at the drop of a hat to most folks who only know the lord's prayer...so they believe their publicity the org. sold them...they are superior, and with no college education...or the other one...one are not educated....very humble.....and so grateful...again, whatever the org. says is right, because I'm a poor illiterate soul...and Jehovah looked down on poor ole no read'n me...and they are just as dangerous as the ones who feel superior.

Every commenter hit all the nails on the head. Many are just jealous of the young ones who have their life ahead of them....and many wasted theirs...Most of the witnesses have had all the sex they are going to have in or out of the truth in or out of marriage....and now it's time for the young ones to have some fun....the ole ones are telling them...they are wasting their time...oh really...old folks had their fun. Now they are looking down the barrel of old age and death...

In the words of my dad....JW'S ARE PARTY POOPERS...

Yes, they do attract negative folks. I am positive and so the friends like me but they do not know how to take me and most of all....HOW TO FIX ME.

JW's live the good life. It does depend on where you go. But I see it first hand, they live well, yet cry broke.

Shunning - Are Mothers Most Fanatical?

on many posts by those with experience of df or da shunning, it look to me that the most fanatical observers of the shunning practise are mothers, and when a person approached parents about their own doubts or intentions, approaching the mother the most daunting prospect .

odd that visiting warwick leaflet has a picture of a meeting of some sort with a room comprising men only, given the subordinate role given to women, one might think they would be more liberal over shunning close ones, but not so.. what drives this, is it grabbing an opportunity to be more visible by their loyalty, or low level of education of a lot of dubs so that the sisters blindly accept direction or authority.

i might have expected some kick back against the shunning practise by sisters giving evidence to their independence of thought.. our real thinkers here will be able to explain this fanaticism of loyalty better.

I wanted to comment when this topic was first started....wanted to see what others thought...

I'm a female, no kids, a witness...I don't get it...there is a certain disconnect with a person who can shun their child. That parents environment may have contributed to it....

Love is something you can't turn off or on...and if you can....you a bad mudder....even Psalms says Love is as deep as death....

Parents that can shun have other issues....females, it's to please man....some females when their child does something they feel it was their fault....as some have said...single moms...sexually frustrated....

Females are emotional...not more emotional, it's how we are wired...we can get so angry that we throw ourselves into a tizzy....we gunny sack stuff...so many things that happen to us...it's not that actual situation but all others compounded....

I think the moms that are fanatical, is all for show...they say how sad it is for them.....it's for attention. I know some sisters that think it's commendable that parents shun their kid...they feel it's loyalty to Jehovah....I don't want to wish nobody nothing..but those same sisters....lets see what they say, when it's their child(s).

Again, women are emotional beings...we want to be the head of the house, then sometimes we want to be Cinderella, then a Fairy princess...we are so many things....

I don't know what it would feel like to have my mom shun me (my Mom didn't like her Dad), she a little messed up but she's ok...and did not let that keep her from loving me even when I wasn't the best child...same for my dad...middle child...you all know the story...but he was messed up but ok...I was raised by both of my parents...When I got into trouble...my dad would come rescue me...he would say, you know your mom is not reasonable...she's is the wrath of Khan....So all that to say, it's easy for me to say why worry about a parent that can shun you, if they really loved you.....blah blah blah....I can't...it wouldn't be fair...but many of us don't really know our parents and their home life....some of our parents are just damaged goods, then married another person from another home that was damaged goods....

Another question could be posed here....why when men go outside the marriage, the first thing a wife does..is use the kids as pawns....the one thing you love the most, a woman will use against the man....that's her first thought...They make sure he don't see the kids...the kids are weapons....Why ? Oh I know why...just saying....

i was pondering the recent influx of lawsuits against wt, specifically in regards to the child abuse cases (ie.

conti, fessler, lopez, etc).. in each of these, wt has settled for an "undisclosed" amount, assumed to be in the millions of dollars each.

i know there are many many more cases, subject for a different thread i'm sure.. i was reading something completely unrelated a while back that mentioned the dangers of settlement agreements for a large corporation or business (not just wt).

Thought just occurred to me...all witnesses know Michael Jackson....well everyone knows him....when all these cases came against him...he settled....so everyone said, he had to...he did it...because if he didn't do it he would not have paid the victims...this is what everyone thought....in and out of the org...I have a different opinion...anyway...if it ever leaks out that the org. paid these settlements...I think a light bulb will go off in the heads of the friends...now, I didn't say they would leave or think anything is wrong with that....but that'll start the ball rolling in their heads... their brains will begin to short circuit...because it will be hard for them to process this....some will put 2 and 2 together and think about fading, others will stay because of family, some don't care, they are secure in the org...

Again, if these settlements get to the friends, it ain't going to be pretty....I don't think the org. can keep this quiet for long.

Here's what I don't get....why is the org. worried about the friends finding out that there were pedophiles in the org and the reason it was never told to the police is because the org. didn't want to bring reproach on Jehovah's name. (a name they gave themselves, but that's another thread).

As much as they flip flop their doctrines and all the stuff that leaks out...the building of a new facility, over millions of dollars, selling of properties...the friends know they have money, but they like to stick their heads in the sand, but their butts are still in the air...and still can be seen....If they came forward like the catholics, many would stay. I've said this before on other threads...the Catholic religion was exposed and who knows how long it took and how many payouts there were before it was public? Even so, there are still Catholics today.

They don't have faith in God nor their congregations....tell the Truth...because isn't the org...THE TRUTH..

I wonder when they will run out of steam....

As I said maybe the org. is holding out until this regime is dead and then can come out and tell the truth....but Does anyone on this site ever think the org. will be xposed liked the Catholics...I mean honestly...I have read all over this site about the law and if the defendant says this, will they take the money and so on....but the bottom line is will it ever be known....publicly, because don't fool yourself folks, many of the friends know...the silence gives it away.

Jehovah will clean his house first...

that is not being said, many of the friends say, well, jehovah will clean his house first....with all this religious hiding of child abuse...what denomination was exposed/cleaned first...although they were forced they were exposed and many still go to these places of worship.

so are the jw really god's chosen channel.

This forum is awesome.... if the majority of people that are on this site or were on this site and were witnesses....now that's awesome, because there are wonderful writers and humanitarians here..

There is hope...lurkers...go to other sites that talk about witnesses....they can't all be apostates or liars.

Witnesses desperate for news to feel good about themselves

Funny how they found this article and sent it to you, but if you sent them the one about the ARC, what would be their reaction. When witnesses send links about failures of other religious places, they are showing you....See, if they had Jehovah's blessing this wouldn't have happened....

Right now JW's are so in need of some good news about them. The cards are stacking up against them...I haven't seen the tv commercials about law firm reaching out to JW's about child abuse...the walls are closing in on them....the internet is running faster than they can put out the fire....

The entire world is getting kudos for helping this one and helping that one....young people helping one another, folks travelling all over the world to help others and the media is picking it up....so what about witnesses...as you now many need validation...(that's why they report whatever they do)...and so because they are attention hogs, even if they act like they aren't they are....JW's are wondering...what are we doing? Everyone in the world is trying to help, but what are we doing...just handing out paper....

Since this is God's org...wait on Jehovah...for some good news to feel good about yourselves.....haha...

Hi,

Folks do this when there is an auto accident....Some will go through the Insurance company and police report. Others will settle with the cost of the damage. They both say let's not report it to the insurance company so our premiums won't go up....why is it not reported and settled outside the police and insurance company...ok everybody....let's say the word(s).....TO AVOID... that's why folks settle to avoid....trouble, whatever, save face...just to name a few.

There was a saying back in the day....many who may have lived during Malcolm X's time....he once made a statement that really shows how the org. thinks....BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY...they will save their rep. any way they can....even if it means the lives of children who will eventually become messed up adults....these same messed up adults will stay or come back to the org. because they are so messed up and won't fit anywhere else...The org is creating their own depressed new converts...

They could be holding out until GB or when all the Gov. boys die and so when it will eventually come out they will say, it was the old regime...see we had to wait on God to get rid of the big boys....now we are God's org....see wait on Jehovah...

Excellent comments and all true. I used to smile when they would say that, because they really were thinking they were saying something that was so noble....like, JW's thought why should they bother with such frivolous thoughts of child abuse...not such a big deal, Jehovah will deal with it...

As many of you said JW's when backed into a corner will say Jehovah will take care of it in his own time. What else can they say.

Also mentioned here is that many don't see anything wrong until something offends them...Lets' face it most folks are selfish, don't care about nothing unless it involves them. Some even said they were the same when they were witnesses...I think we all see when we are not being empathetic but prefer to play is safe...it's called your conscience....

At times people complain about something that may seem trivial to one while in the org...I feel sometimes it's no big deal, but I have to remember it may be a big deal to them...this has nothing to do with being a witness...this has to do with just being a decent human being.

Many of the witnesses know but won't admit what they know because they are comfy where they are. They claim to have found the truth...if they were truly truth seekers they would have left the org. a while ago...

Why do many stay....their future is secure...all the fear they had of dying...all tied up in a few scriptures that say they are coming back, whew....

As many of you know, most JW's think the org. sticks to the bible more than any other religion...but they are just as flawless as the other religions...

You are so right, if the JW's were chosen by God, it would be obvious...

There is a song written a while ago, that kind of describes how some folks/JW's are, by English Beat....it's about a selfish man in a relationship with more than one woman, but he is having his cake and eating it too...he is hurting people but doesn't care....so this line in the song I never forgot, because it was so profound and shows how people really think and how selfish they can be..."I admit that I ruined 3 lives but I DID NOT CARE UNTIL I FOUND OUT ONE OF THEM (LIVES) WAS MINE"...this is folks...nothing bothers them until it BOTHERS THEM...why should they care, it didn't happen to them...just yet.

I began this topic only because I always heard that Jehovah chose the WT org. and not any other religion...so since the other religion was exposed first...I was just thinking that, that other religion was his mouth piece, since he didn't clean/expose the org. first.

The start of a rough patch ahead...

last night i told my mom my true feelings on the organization and what i've learned so far.

it all started from a conversation, we need to go visit the new headquarters.

my mom has been studying and just recently became an unbaptized publisher in the spanish cong.

Love her and Love God and Jesus. Show her by living a balanced life...You can talk all you want but just show her that a person doesn't have to be a witness to show love and to be loved. Show her you have faith....do something for God that doesn't have to be counted...

You have come to the right place...many will share their experiences with you and give you encouragement...I'm a witness, and many of the friends have no idea that there are beautiful people that are not in the hall the love God/Jesus as much as they do. They claim they can't read hearts only God can, so how can any one judge ones relationship with God, just by looking at them...

This is scary for you depending on your age...If you are old enough to be on your own that's a good thing...I'm glad you mentioned that you were ready to face losing your witness family...that's brave and the first step to healing....Are they your family if you don't believe like they do? This is what keeps many in for the sake of the family. I was not born in so I can't understand that point of view....I have a good relationship with my Mom and she's not a witness. But that's another story...and a nice story...it's a story of respect.

If your mother really loves you, just live your life and be a good person, prove her wrong that because you are not a witness you are not going to live a crazy life...find a place of worship, that is non-denominational...and remember wherever you go, they won't have the whole truth, just like being in the org. you will hear and see things that aren't true...The Truth is in you.

There are many ways to show you love God/Jesus...and being a witness is not the only way....

If you keep peace in the house, that's ok, but you won't ever have any peace within yourself...

But first congrats. yourself on seeing the truth...and you are not spiritually weak....

You are correct in telling Mom don't tell your family....you don't need a bunch of folks blabbing in your ear...stand your ground...Live Well...Be Kind to others....
