I have an opinion on this subject but it very subjective so I am probably wrong (and ignorant).
Listerine was once considered wrong in treating mouth germs etc, preventing people from being able to have surgery that could save their lives. Listerine and similar products are now considered everyday essential items.
Some medicines that I take to very successfully treat bipolar were once only used for other medical conditions, and it would have been completely condemned to use those medications to treat my issues.
Medicine changes and evolves and that is a great thing. Alternative medicine also has a place in society in my opinion. Who knows, one day mushrooms may cure cancer or other major health issues the world currently faces.
Where my line gets drawn is when someone who has a following of people exiting a cult, in very vulnerable situations, starts talking about going off medications without medical supervision and talking about participating in illegal drug activities, claiming they fixed their problems.
I certainly maintained the view, based on what lloyd said, that mushrooms were not illegal in Canada and that he could have been going to a person with recognised qualifications in that area of medicine. Whilst that may be possible, I don’t understand how given that mushrooms are illegal.
I still don’t think he understands how his words and actions can affect his viewers. 🤷♀️ -
