I think this is why I see through Lloyd, because I have witnessed firsthand just how evil people can be, especially when it comes to cult ideology.
I wish more people could see what you see. Taking advantage of vulnerable people is wrong.

If you leave the WTS, save your money. There is nothing you need to donate to anymore. There is nothing that needs funding. The most effective things are all free.

Was this money funnelled directly to Lloyd? Not asking for a name, but was this all gathered by one person who then paid Lloyd? Or were his tickets bought directly out of this slush fund as well as other amenities and the remainder just donated to him directly? How exactly was this distributed if you know and don’t mind sharing?
One person collected the funds and paid for tickets, accomodation, the venue and other miscellaneous costs. The person who collected the money and paid for everything was VERY out of pocket and had to pay the difference out of their pocket.
I was not that person, I contributed but wasn’t organising the trip/event

What I did hear was some chatter from Aus/NZ exJWs who were under the impression that Lloyd and his family were in need and it would be best if they could chip in to help with what was a truly altruistic venture. They were shocked at what they witnessed.
I was one of those aussies. The impression was very much that without funding they couldn’t afford to come. Everything was paid for by others. My contribution was very small in comparison to one couple in Australia. I am reasonably informed that they were out of pocket AUD $15,000.00

So, was Lloyd banned from reddit by the time this present thread started? (I might not even be asking this question correctly.)
From memory, I don’t believe Lloyd was ever banned from Reddit, I do remember him posting a farewell Reddit post as he took objection to a post by someone asking why people don’t like him. (Again, my memory is vague).
I do know he was banned from JWN however I don’t know how long ago he was banned.

Back in the day, this guy could do no wrong and he has hordes of flying monkeys to leap to his defense. The only thing he needed to do was put out a tweet and his army of flying monkeys would then go to work whilst he sat back rubbing his hands with joy. He has gotten so confident he thought by going on a Livestream and telling all, he would still have his hoards of supporters.
FACT! The livestream was a “call to arms” and a sympathy search. It’s very sad that in the past this was all he needed to do to silence people or damage others opinions of those who spoke against him. Lloyd used to refer to them as “activist wars”. All I hear is “apostate lies” now.
Simply because someone disagrees with him doesn’t make it a war.

Some people hadn’t learnt a fucking thing. And it took Kim to put herself out there to get absolutely crucified online and a drunken livestream from Lloyd for them to finally get the message that Lloyd Evans is a total fraud and grifter.
That’s way more shameful than this thread ever was at its very worst.
The first weeks/months were hard however I became heartened when people stopped and started thinking with their logical brains after the emotions settled down. I hope it’s a lesson we all learn from. We are easily triggered and lack emotional regulation when we leave the cult. We also lose or never developed critical thinking skills. It is my hope that we each analyse honestly where we are in our recovery from the cult xx

Claiming you only hire adult sex workers misses the point: they are still victims.
You can't claim to represent victims when you are making more of them.
This is the most succinct summary of the reason that I ultimately felt compelled to disclose. I don’t know whether Lloyd doesn’t understand or chooses not to see. Either way, I agree he cannot represent himself as a CSA advocate.
