3 meetings per week NOT FIVE!!!
by sawthelight inam i the only person ever to fall under the influence of the borg who can count?.
no offence all but jws meet three times per week.not five!
i consider the familiar statement about 5 meetings per week to be a good indication of just how indoctrinated a person is.

Who was the strangest JW you ever met?
by Preston ini knew a presiding overseer in the congregation i attened who was possibly the strangest person i ever met.
he took a rigorous position toward the society's view on everything!!!
he was against many things ....including....science fiction, fantasy, the x-files, disneyland, cartoons and football.

what about the ministry school? it has 4 talks, many times they are all unrelated. does this mean there are 5 meetings counting 4 school talks and service meeting on one night?and what about the different parts on the service meeting? do they qualify as individual meetings also.ask the elder, and see if his reasoning is still the same.

maybe it's just a sales trick to get dubs to order all they can get while the getting's good. seems like a good sales ploy by the printing company to be. also, maybe they just want to reduce warehousing costs. another corporate mantra.

can anyone tell me if Kent is an apostate or a troll? in his comment above he calls the boys in the writing dept. assholes but then talks their word as gospel. this seems contradictory to me.by the way kent i think you are proving my point that some will just repeat anything that they are told.i don't think this is such a big deal, and to publically disagree with writen DOGMA shouldn't be such a big deal either.(unless of course you belong to a mind controlling cult)

some times there is no crrelation between paragraphs in the same study article. i don't think this qualifies as a separate meeting.

i don't count fs for one reason; the 5 meetings per week schpiel is sometimes given in regards to "christiandom" who go to church(for worship) once a week. JWs go 3 times (for worship) but are CONgratulated for attending 5 meetings.
also, in the work place a meeting usually consists a group of people having similar concerns. the meeting proceeds from one topic to another as per a specific agenda. i believe this is how a gathering of JWs usually proceeds.

How do the anointed know they are?
by jayhawk1 ini have a question that no elder has given me a good explanation on.
how do the anointed jehovah's witnesses become that way.
i heard that somehow their spirit is born along with the holy spirit.

they have sucked up enough to be appointed to the governing body, because that's who is really being refered to every time you here expressions like "annointed" ,"Faithful and discreet slave" by dumbdumb elders on the platform or when you read the mags.

maybe i could write a letter(i can see it in ques from readers already because it makes as much sense as all of crap in there already). lol.
putting all seriousness aside i think this is just the type of doctrinal question that deserves an articl in the tower or at least an explanation during local needs( sure beats talking about decling meeting attendance).
i see your from/living in canada, what part, i'm in nova scotia.
