i consider the familiar statement about 5 meetings per week to be a good indication of just how indoctrinated a person is.

by Preston ini knew a presiding overseer in the congregation i attened who was possibly the strangest person i ever met.
he took a rigorous position toward the society's view on everything!!!
he was against many things ....including....science fiction, fantasy, the x-files, disneyland, cartoons and football.

Most influential branch offices?
by comment inwhich are the most influential branch offices of jehovah's witnesses around the world?.
for some time i have been wondering whether there are tendencies toward either greater liberalism or greater conservatism among various branch committees, and whether any of this could have an impact on brooklyn's policies.. here are my guesses in order (although i can't claim any insider knowledge):.
1) united states (they've just set up their own branch committee, although presumably it will be in lockstep with...well, either the governing body or the legal department?).

just remembered, its not the job of anyone at a branch to influence the GB, just to suck up to the GB in hopes of being appointed to the GB.

don't know about influence, but those probably contribute the most money,+any other "white" branches and japan.

by individuals wife inthere is a possibility that during my time as a jw i had knocked on every door and rang every doorbell and met just about every person in my whole area, especially during my over zealous pioneer episodes.
now that i have left i have the dilemma of how to show everyone i'm normal again!
it would be nice to walk down the street without sensing that everyone is trying not to meet your glance (mild paranoia!).

full page ad would really piss off the old cong. this could be bad if some still in the borg view you harmless and others might think youv'e just got something new to be over zealous about. like i say i like the ad(all of the above is even better) but i wouldn't have the guts to do it. if you do it and provide a good explanation it could also be a great witness against the WT but like i say i wouldn't have the balls for it.
