I was just going to ask if JW's are staying home and doing online meetings.

I was under the impression the halls disposed of the old literature.

Back in the 80s I recall reading a letter to the congregation from the Society, the gist of it was about all the wonderful building work they were doing around the world, and that these headquarters needed a good theocratic library. They were telling the congregations to send in all literature prior to 1950, they specifically requested all books, booklets and magazines by Russell/Rutherford.
I was in the Bronx, NY at the time, and we had bethelites serving us, so they packed up the books themselves and took them.
In a conversation with Randy Watters, he admitted to me that the literature was destroyed.

Listener
Rol Rod, what sort of corro do you have from Rutherford and was it published in any of the Watchtower publications?

These were short notes that Rutherford would attached to letters sent to the Society asking specific questions on the Ezekiel portion of THE FINISHED MYSTERY that was authored by George Fisher

I made over 20K back in 2015 on ebay. Sold most of the JW books I had. I still have the original Watchtowers from 1892 to 1995. I'll be unloading them soon. Sold ALL the major books and booklets from the 1920-1975. Still have a box of the 192 page books from the 80s and 90s. I also have some rare items like correspondence from Rutherford and the original notes of George Fisher on his part of THE FINISHED MYSTERY. I'll eventually sell it all. ALL my pre Russell Adventist books, original William Miller, Nelson Barbour, etc

Ask current Jehovah's Witnesses if they KNOW what happened in 1954 (SHOCKING)
by Terry in(referred to below: watchtower bible and tract society presidents: russell, rutherford, knorr, franz )did you know that from 1879 until 1954 ... ... the writings of c.t.russell, j.f.rutherford, nathan knorr, and the watchtower's own charter... ... agreed ... that jesus christ was to be worshiped?this fact has been cleverly and dramatically hidden by manipulation of older quotations.
______________________________________________________________________pastor charles taze russell answers the question for us.
see below zion’s watch tower 1898 jul 15 p.216“question: the fact that our lord received worship is claimed by some to be an evidence that while on earth he was god the father disguised in a body of flesh and not really a man.

Russell not only worshipped Jesus, he admitted that he prayed to him too.
QUESTION (1912)--3--Are you addressing your prayers only to the Father in the name of the Son?
ANSWER--Usually I follow that form of addressing the heavenly Father--only in the name of the Lord Jesus; but I have found myself in prayer addressing the Lord Jesus himself, for I find nothing in the Scriptures to contradict that, for they say to honor the Son even as we honor the Father. Nearly all the Scriptures follow that course of addressing the Father and I think of only one that is different "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
What Pastor Russell Said, p 541

Kh's will be gone in 5 years! Here's how it will work
by nowwhat? inbesides the media center they are going to build in n.y. it's been noted they are also building one and a studio in australia.
there is no way donations can cover these massive projects.
so the money will have to come from the sale of the remaining halls.

Close down all the Kingdom Halls, sell off the property, use the assembly halls as Mega Churches, by consolidating all the congregations who make up those circuits.

The future of the Watchtower Society
by mickygrey ini left way back in 2002, seems a long time ago now and i haven't really kept up with any developments since.. i've kept one ear open and noticed recently there is talk of the wt being investigated over the sex abuse cover ups, but over the years this story has come in and out of the news.. what is everybody's predictions as to the future of the borg?
i know what most people want to happen, but realistically, are we just looking at certain elements being hit because of the restructuring they did a few years ago to protect from this very thing?
looking further ahead, you'd like to think that more people would wake up?

Consider the Worldwide Church of God, the church as Herbert Armstrong created is gone. After he died, the father and son team of Joseph Tkach Sr. and Joseph Jr. discarded ALL of Armstrong's teachings and it became mainstream. But Armstrong had diehard followers and some 350 offshoots, all claiming to continue his legacy were formed. If the Watchtower was shut down and went bankrupt because of all the lawsuits. The Jehovah's Witnesses would continue. Just like the Bible Students survived after Russell died.

If you're "anointed" don't seek out other "anointed" so says the Watchtower January 2020
by RolRod inwhen i was affiliated with the witnesses, there were barely 6,000 who profess to be of the anointed remnant.
i recently read somewhere that today there are over 20,000 who profess to be anointed.
that figure may be more when you consider those who meet and partake privately for fear of the stigma of claiming to be anointed.

When I was affiliated with the Witnesses, there were barely 6,000 who profess to be of the anointed remnant. I recently read somewhere that today there are over 20,000 who profess to be anointed. That figure may be more when you consider those who meet and partake privately for fear of the stigma of claiming to be anointed. Remember not too long ago such individuals were branded as mentally challenged by the Society.
But this little tidbit was recently brought to my attention, how the Governing Body has been pressuring these anointed ones not to gather together for personal Bible study. In Study Article number 5 in the January 2020 Watchtower they Society had this to say
https://www.jw.org/en/library/magazines ... -with-you/
7 Anointed Christians do not feel that they should spend time only with other anointed ones, as if they were members of an exclusive club. They do not search out other anointed ones, hoping to discuss their anointing with them or to form private groups for Bible study. (Gal. 1:15-17) The congregation would not be united if anointed ones did those things. They would be working against the holy spirit, which helps God’s people to have peace and unity.—Rom. 16:17, 18.
One wonders what they are afraid of? It use to be that such warnings were only given to the rank and file, but if those who profess to be anointed start to study and seek each other out, they may come to other conclusions. The Holy Spirit may lead them to see Biblical beliefs not taught by the Governing Body, who now claim they and they alone are the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class. -

Jehovah's Witnesses Mega Halls
by RolRod ini was thinking about this recently.
the society owns all the kingdom halls and with desperate need of money, their closing down and selling off properties.
consolidating congregations seems to be the order of the day.

I was thinking about this recently. The Society owns all the Kingdom Halls and with desperate need of money, their closing down and selling off properties. Consolidating congregations seems to be the order of the day. The only thing that is growing within the organization seems to be the number of "anointed" ones. When I was active, there were barely 6,000 who partook, 30 years later, I read somewhere it's more like 20,000 now, and it might be more by those who partake privately.
So what if the Society decided to turn their assembly halls into mega churches. They can get rid of the smaller Kingdom Halls and have the various congregations form one big one. They'll make money on the sale of the property and make money from the donations.

They'll survive … as long as people keep buying into what they have to say … remember even a lie has a little truth to it, or so many wouldn't be mislead.
