As per babygirl30 said, my exact same situation except I’m not DF. I’m really against child baptism. There’s a reason Christ himself was baptised at 30 and he was perfect!!!

Can baptism be considered a legal verbal agreement?
by StarTrekAngel inbased on the requirements set forth and the questions answered at the end.
i believe this question has been asked before.
the fact that you can only be expelled after having been put under this oath of allegiance and that you have witnesses to you making this agreement ( i remember my name was shout to the crowd when i entered the pool ).. if it can be considered so, would there be a legal ground to say minors can not enter this agreement?.

question: Pinky rink, the ring i have seen on alot of the GB resembles a Masionic ring

like a club association.
when i try and take a look at the ring it resembles a masionic ring.

They have a club, definitely. The best 7 out of 144,000 club. Why is it no other anointed matters but those n the GB? Mind you, we recently had a WT study where they said been anointed is simply an invite, not a membership but somehow that doesn't apply to the GB in their castle which resides in the last world power according to the explanation for the prophecy.

Tony Morris Shows Off Engraved Gold Ring with Turquoise Birthstone(?)
by Funchback inthe july jw broadcasting camera zooms in on tony's ring at around the 8:30 mark here:https://tv.jw.org/#en/mediaitems/latestvideos/pub-jwb_201707_1_video.
maybe it's not a big deal.
maybe it is.. in my opinion, it's being kind of flashy.

I don't like it. Do all the GB members have a club ring? I haven't watched a broadcast in a while, they make my stomach churn.

Scientology Expose: Katie Holmes & Leah Remini are each the cover story for celebrity mags (People & in Touch)
by Faithful Witness inside by side, on the grocery store magazine display, i saw two celebrity magazines with cover stories about scientology.
i purchased both.
i find it interesting, how similar this "church" is to the organization of the watchtower.. i thought i'd share some of the interesting quotes from the articles, which are both mostly about leah remini's new book, troublemaker: surviving hollywood and scientology.

I've been watching Leah's docos and I can't help noticing the similarities between CS and WTS. Although CS goes far and beyond WTS in the way they go about their doctrines. But they use the same tactics to differing degrees. However, seen as WTS claims to be the true religion with God as its highest authority and CS looks to aliens and the stars, I think WTS is worse for that fact when they should be better.

Be loyal when a relative is disfellowshipped
by UnshackleTheChains inwell.....they showed that shunning video again.
you know...the one where goldilocks gets disfellowshipped- and the parents look across the hall at her with disdain.....yeah that video.. i was interested to see what kind of answers would be given during the discussion after the video and some of the reactions.
everyone sat there gormlessly staring at the video.

Diogenesistera day agoa day agoa day agoa day agoThis might be a good thing to say to "still in" dubs, I believe it will certainly make them think. The concept certainly brought it home to me.
Stuckinarut It is NO different to the JW situation. They treat people in an abusive manner, then compound the situation by maligning their character and reputation amongst the rest of the congregation, THEN think that witnesses would WANT to go back??
Huh??
I'm a born-in and still-in dub and I have said this to others including an elder I can speak freely with. But do you think anyone who matters (I'm a sister so…) is willing to put their heads on the chopping block for the truth? -

I actually have a DF sibling whom I have never shunned, unlike the rest of our siblings. He's always been the one who's needed someone there. How is it loving to leave him totally abandoned? Jehovah didn't even do that to the Israelites!!!

Special Talks now via video
by AverageJoe1 intired of listening to your local elders giving the "special" talk ever year after the memorial?
well don't worry, as of next year we will be spicing things up for your enjoyment.. not only will we be having the talk before the memorial (i know, wild huh), but we will be treating you to the talk via video starring our famous speakers from bethel so you can see how a talk should be given (after all bethel does boast the best speakers in any country, right?!).
here's a copy of the text from our latest letter as i'm sure that with so much excitement you won't believe it at first!.

They should just stream all the meetings and we can just stay home and "attend" via the broadcast. Then I can sigh, roll my eyes and nap in comfort.

I was recently told by someone who's been reinstated that one of the driving reasons that person decided to come back was because my family (only I amd baptised, my kids and husband aren't, yeah I totally married not in the lord) and another person never shunned them and always treated them like a human being should be treated, with kindness and respect ... with love. But the org will never admit that shunning is not loving at all.

I'm new here, just joined so I have no idea how to use the quotes and stuff.
I wanted to quote All or nothing where she said I simply saw it as them taking more power on and we Lowly ones having to believe cuz they said it...thoughts?
I've been feeling the same for so long. It just seems like the GB want us all to hang our lives on their every word and ignore Jehovah's word. How many people throughout history have shed their lives so that the Bible can survive and be available to us all and then we have the GB practically scrapping it and replacing with every other pub they've written? It's so narcissistic and we all know who the very first narcissist is. My husband is not a JW though he has studied so much. If it were uni he'd have a masters lol. But we always discuss the bible and we both have the same feeling, that the GB has grown a big head and are on the verge of apostasy themselves.
I also avoid the broadcasts, it's just like tv evangelising. And although my kids were encouraged by elders to read the young ppl ask books, they never did and I never cared. I'm grateful all my kids are too old for Caleb stories and they will never marry a JW.
I think this is what it may feel like to be an alcoholic at an AA meeting. So many subjects to vent about, so little time. It's 2:30am and I gotta work tomorrow.
