full disclosure: i still don't believe in the bible's claims about the existence of the supernatural, even of jehovah god (i'm an atheist and a scientific/philosophical naturalist), but i am asking this question because recent events are starting to seem (to me) to fit well the description of some prophecies in the bible.

consider the following.. several hours ago (on 11-26-2021) as i was about to enter a local fred meyer store of my city (in suburb or small city in the metro area of a large city) a person i know told me that a moment earlier a person left the store in a hurry with a cart load up with unpaid merchandise (i think i was told it was groceries but i don't remember that for sure).

but I am asking this question because recent events are starting to seem (to me) to fit well the description of some prophecies in the Bible.

If we are to believe that the actual events happening in the world are a sign of the Great Tribulation, then perhaps Watchtower’s lie of 1914 has become successfully embedded into our being. I’m not saying that stuff isn’t happening. I don’t walk around believing that all is right in the world when it’s not, but I keep in mind, Jesus’ words:

“Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20,21

He’s telling us that the literal earthquakes, the famine, and the wars between nations mentioned in Matt 24 are not the signs we are to look for. (Matt 16:1-3; Luke 12:54-56) It is similar to his account of the “yeast/leaven of the Pharisees”. His disciples thought he was talking about literal bread, when it was the teachings he was warning them of. ( John 16:6,11,12; 6:35)

If you believe it’s possible to be deceived, then you must believe that evil is behind it.

If we focus only on the literal, and forget the words of Jesus in Luke 17:20,21, someone is behind the curtain pulling our strings. We have been deceived. (1 Pet 2:1-3; 1 Tim 4:1) The Wt. interprets the signs Jesus gave his disciples in Matt. 24 as “pains of distress”. Before these signs are to occur, they say the kingdom was “born” in 1914. It is then followed with these “pains of distress”. The clearer translation for Matt 24:8 tells us that these symbolic signs are “birth pains”, and birth pains naturally come before birth, – the birth of the Kingdom of God.

Pretty twisted, isn’t it!

Ask any woman who has given birth, and she will tell you that much of the Greek definition for “tribulation” can apply to birth - a pressing, pressing together, oppression, affliction, distress. Who’s giving “birth” to the Kingdom under severe tribulation, which is also a sifting, a sorting out of what is truth and what is a lie? (Luke 22:31) It is an analogy that is used in many places in the scriptures.

"For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.” Rom 8:22-24

The promised covenant signified by a woman (Gal 4:23,24,26), is in “labor” in Rev 12:1,2.

At this point, you probably don’t believe there are genuine anointed under the New Covenant, in the organization. Well, this is the same organization that has taken captive (Col 2:8; Rev 13:10) and deceived a spiritual people (“Israel”) into believing they must look at the world of literal events, instead of focusing on their own heart. (Matt 24:24,25) Truth or lies, they have to decide. (Joel 3:14) If they decide they are the victims of deceit by false prophets, and do something about it by their “testimony” to Christ’s words such as those above, they will fulfill these additional signs that Jesus and the scriptures tell us would occur – Luke 12:51-53; Mark 10:29,30; Matt 5:11,12; 10:17-19; John 16:2; Heb 13:13; Rev 13:15; 12:11

This happens in the opposite order than what the Wt. says. The anointed and those with them fulfill these signs as they are exiting the door of a judicial committee, leading to their exodus from the organization (another Sodom, another Egypt, Rev 11:8).

Who doesn’t experience internal “earthquakes” when we find out that what we’ve believed for years, is not “the truth”? When we realize it isn’t truth, we then perceive the spiritual “famine” that exists in the organization. (Ezek 5:16; Amos 8:11; Mal 2:7-9; Rev 18:8) Nations rising against nations? The anointed are “kings” from all nations. (1 Pet 2:9; Rev 5:9,10) I wonder sometimes just how many anointed ones have been disfellowshipped, since it became the thing to do. Why does the elder body label one as “apostate”, if not because of a verbal conflict that happens over what is true, and what is a lie.

If we read through the signs of Matt 24, it mentions the word, “deceive” in the NKJV, four times. It also mentions “false prophets” twice, “false christs” once. They deceive the “elect”/anointed. (Matt 24:24,25) A “wicked slave”, and its partners “drunk” on its teachings (elder body), “beats” down his fellow servants. This gives more evidence that the “kings” belonging to Christ, are at war with one another. (1 Pet 2:5,9; Rev 1:1,5; 13:5-7;16:13-16) Ray Franz, whom most all of us have heard of, is just one example of an anointed one fighting in this war.

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.” 2 Cor 10:3-6

One man, Jesus Christ, stated that the Kingdom will not come with observation (the Greek word means, “ocular evidence”); yet millions of people throughout the world will tell us otherwise, and the show goes on just as people prefer to believe. It’s as if they are saying, “see there!”. (Luke 17:21) As scripture says, “the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one”. 1 John 5:19

It’s as if the word, the letters together and how they roll off the tongue, is a talisman to JWs, and practicing this is how they come to “know” God. I fell into that same trap, and I was happy to use that name which segregated me from anyone else in the world, or so I thought. I used it when first studying to ward of the “evil spirits”, as I was told to.

But something clicked when I was disfellowshipped for speaking against lies, and supporting the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus said, They will [b]ban (“excommunicate”) you from the synagogue, (“congregation”) yet an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering a [c]service (“act of worship”) to God. 3 These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me.” John 16:2,3

Watchtower’s disfellowshipping marks a person as good as dead – spiritually dead. (Rev 13:15) When we drop the talisman, and we endeavor to really know the Father and the Son, we are rejected by our own “people”; humiliated and slandered for our testimony to Christ’s truth, just as Jesus was. (Matt 5:10-12; Heb 13:13; 2 Tim 3:12)

And as painful as it can be, it is a good thing. (Matt 19:29; Luke 9:25,26; Phil 1:21)

russel and his followers were a byproduct of the religious orthodoxy revolt that originated in europe.

this revolution of ideas crossed over to america seeding all the fringe groups who russel then became a part of.

this resistance to the establishment is similar to what we have seen recently with the q annon phenomena.

Although elders are considered “princes”, they can also be called, “kings”, since they say they “represent the royal priesthood”. (1 Pet 2:5,9; Rev 5:9,10)

So, we have a large army of “kings” that rule over the nations/”Gentiles” of JWs.

The dual rulership, elders and the GB who direct them, is described perfectly by Jesus in Luke. He admonishes his disciples not to be that way.

Here’s a few translations of Luke 22:24-26

Then a quarrel broke out among the disciples. They argued about who should be considered the greatest.

25 Jesus said to them, “The kings of nations have power over their people, and those in authority call themselves friends of the people. 26 But you’re not going to be that way! Rather, the greatest among you must be like the youngest, and your leader must be like a servant. GW

24 A dispute also arose among them as to which of them was considered to be greatest. 25 Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. 26 But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. NIV

Within minutes they were bickering over who of them would end up the greatest. But Jesus intervened: “Kings like to throw their weight around and people in authority like to give themselves fancy titles. It’s not going to be that way with you. Let the senior among you become like the junior; let the leader act the part of the servant. Message

This clearly defines organized hierchy, and Jesus clearly rejects it. For JW leaders to say they follow Christ’s teachings closely, and are obedient to his words, shows their utter hypocrisy.

Which Proverb fits best when encountering Ideologues.

proverbs 26:4. do not answer a fool according to his folly,.

proverbs 26:5. answer a fool as his folly deserves,.

that he not be wise in his own eyes.

Funny that you should bring this up, since I just read these two scriptures again recently, and at first glance thought they contradicted each other. But they don’t.

"Doesn't one of these ancient proverbs encourage engaging in debates with those unwilling to be persuaded and at the same time the other say doing so will only drag you down with them?"

In the first Proverb, the fool must be expecting some sort of answer; so, its basically saying, don’t answer a fool like a fool. (Matt 5:41) The second one seems to be saying, bring out the fool’s folly when you answer. So, in both cases, someone who is spiritually wise, would answer a fool with wisdom. If one is using spiritual wisdom and they choose to “debate”, I don’t see how in either case, the person would be dragged down. Sheesh, myself and many continually bring out the foolishness of the GB, and I know they read it, when I personally write it elsewhere. They just don’t want to have a face to face “debate”! They are wise enough to protect their own foolishness. (Prov 17:28)

These are interesting renditions of Prov 26:5 –

“Answer [and correct the erroneous concepts of] a fool according to his folly, Otherwise he will be wise in his own eyes [if he thinks you agree with him].” AMP

“Answer fools when they speak foolishly, or they will ·think they are really wise [L be wise in their own eyes; C a wise person must read the situation to know whether to answer or not].” EXB

The apostle Paul: “We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” 2 Cor 10:5

men and women on earth can be of the anointed.

so does that mean woman are tranny's who are of the anointed?

Wow, there are a lot of opinions here. Anointing didn’t stop in the first century. The problem today about who is anointed in the organization, is that they are not allowed to talk about their experience. They have to be “humble”, while the elders are “honored”, or so their magazines state. Some may be fake, but there are others who are definitely, spiritually “anointed”. Do they change gender in “heaven”? If that was the case, so too, would men change.

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Gal 3:28

This is a spiritual “oneness”, as members of the Body of Christ. (John 17:11,22; Eph 4:4-6) There is no gender rank among the anointed, but of course the Wt must make it happen. If all anointed are men, then when the Holy Spirit came upon the 120 in the “upper room” at Pentecost, did it skip the women who were in this group? Acts 1:12-14; 2:1-4

Phoebe was a “deacon” in the congregation. (Rom 16:1;Phil. 1:1;1 Tim. 3:8,12)

The Greek word means, “specially, a Christian teacher and pastor (technically, a deacon or deaconess):—deacon, minister, servant.”

Well, that seems to be the job of male ministerial/elder servants today. The Temple is comprised of the anointed priesthood – “living stones”. (1 Pet 2:5,9; 1 Cor 3:16; 2 Cor 6:16; Eph 2:20-22)

…and priests are the messengers and teachers sent to teach God’s laws. (Mal 2:7) Phoebe was fulfilling that role.

There is the account of women who prophesied in the first century, which required “inspiration” or an anointing, and prophets are part of the anointed Body of Christ. (1 Cor 12:28; 14:4,31; Eph 4:11-13; Acts 21:8,9)

Oh, and “two classes”, and earthly one and heavenly one? That can be blown out of the water when reading Gen 28:10-17. I don’t believe heaven is a stationary place, but a spiritual state. Jesus said, the “angels” (meaning “messengers”, and they are priests) would be ascending and descending between this spiritual “heaven” and earth “on the Son of Man” (John 1:51) This makes sense, since “Israel” is Jacob and it is Jacob’s descendants that inherits the earth, just as Jesus did as the firstborn promised “seed” of Abraham, and the second Adam. (Rom 8:29; Col 1:18; Gal 3:16,29) They are a “new creation”, born human and also spirit-born. (2 Cor 5:17;15:42-46,49)

Jacob…”Israel”…”New Jerusalem/Jerusalem above”…the Bride… all describe the anointed under the New Covenant. (Gal 4:26) New Jerusalem “comes down from heaven” and is with mankind – which leads us back to the stairway between heaven and earth. (Rev 21:2,3)

Oh, and a “harlot” has described the nation of Israel in the past. (Ps 106:39; Jer 2:20) This is a spiritual connotation showing they slipped into spiritual adultery and idolatry. To be part of the faithful Bride of Christ as “virgins”, signifies spiritual purity. (2 Cor 11:2;6:15,16) They must uphold Christ’s truth, not lies of today’s “harlots” who rule over the anointed in the organization. (Rev 2:20,21; 13:11,12; 17:3-5)

I know, that’s a lot, and compressed. The Wt. has done an incredible job of twisting and turning any truth about the anointed, into a deceitful lie.

Why did Jehovah choose false prophet apostates as his chosen earthly organization (1919) ?

from a theological and biblical perspective, this has to be asked and critically examined.. the doctrines this organization and its self described fdsl (gb) chosen ones has preached and taught have now more than ever have shown to be false teachings.. the bible warns of false prophets and those who say things that god has not given them to say but the wts from its earliest beginning made proclamations such as jesus's return in 1874.. so if one were to faithfully adhere to what the bible says and more so jesus's instructions for preaching his gospel of a new kingdom to come, who really are jws loyal to, the wts.

and its top leading men or jesus and jehovah ??

Sometimes the simplest question brings to light, the simple truth.

He didn’t choose them, or the organization, otherwise His words denouncing false prophets, would be lies. (Deut 18:20; Jer 23:21,22) But we see JWs choosing the lies. (Jer 5:31)

And since He didn't send them, then someone who is an expert at manipulation and influential deception, did. (John 8:44)

It’s all a masquerade, using smoke and mirrors, to deceive the "saints". (Rev 13:5-7; Rev 20:7-10; Matt 24:22)

Is it not true that they believe nothing/no one can bring down "Jehovah's spirit-directed (spirit breathed) organization"? (Rev 13:4,15)

In fact A. Morris just recently said, " Jehovah's organization is on the move, and it will not be stopped by the pandemic, or anything else".

Remove the organization, and JWs are lost...unless, they wake up and turn to God and Jesus Christ. (Rev 18:4-8)

Headship and WT's Changed Understanding

i don't think anyone has mentioned that the february 2021 study wt (p. 15, 16; par.

8) changed wt's long standing view on headship within the congregation.

wt used to view all baptized males as being the head of all baptized sisters.. this view led to such absurdities as a sister having to wear a head covering on a bible study because her baptized 10 year old son was sitting in on the study with her.

What’s totally skewed with wt teaching, is if a woman must spiritually submit to a man as head over her, will that man be accountable for her actions at the return of Christ? Not even her own husband has spiritual authority over her.

Rom 6:16 - "Do you not know that if you keep presenting yourselves to anyone as slaves to obey him, you are slaves of him because you obey him, either of sin with death in view or of obedience with righteousness in view?”

Head covering:

“But every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for that is one and the same as if her head were shaved.
For if a woman is not covered, let her also be shorn. But if it is shameful for a woman to be shorn or shaved, let her be covered.

For this reason the woman ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.

Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? 14 Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 15 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? The unrighteousness of the Jehovah's Witnesses

a point to consider is that the bible states that if a prophet says things that god as not given them to say, they are to shun that individual or persons.. deuteronomy 18:22 ...... if a prophet speaks in the name of the lord, and the thing does not come about and does not come true, the lord has not spoken that word.

the prophet has spoken it presumptuously.

do not be afraid of him.. another scripture to note or consider would be 1 john 4:1 ......... dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from god, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.. so to observe if someone is saying things wrongly or what they have not been instructed to say in the preaching work, one has to play close attention to the instructions handed out by jesus christ himself.. one of the admonishments handed out to his followers is that they should not set a time upon god's own sacred time and that not even he knows of the time.. yet the wts and its top leading men have set numerous times on their own accord, taught and preached them, which were acts of disobedient apostasy.

I agree, what you said is so true and so clear, they are the apostates according to the scriptures. If JWs could only see that not only are the organization's sins "piled up to heaven", but also are their leader's excuses. (Rev 18:4-8)

Offer yourself as a role model of good actions. Show integrity, seriousness, 8 and a sound message that is above criticism when you teach, so that any opponent will be ashamed because they won’t find anything bad to say about us.” Titus 2:7-9

Why the Lord's Prayer and Not Stephen's?

I am sure for a JW to speak to Jesus as Stephen did, they would be disfellowshipped for worshiping him, if that came to light. It is so illogical. How is it that Jesus communicated with humans before his death, and after his death…but once he was resurrected to heaven, all communication is to stop? Where in the scriptures does it say we can’t speak to Jesus as Stephen did?

The early teaching of the Wt showed the necessity of worshipping both the Father and Jesus, respectively. This requires talking to Jesus in prayer. But now, Christ is locked away from every JW. And if Christ is locked from them, so is the Father.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

"Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the door of the kingdom of heaven in people's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to.” Matt 23:13

The Bible speaks of the "Unforgivable Sin" ? What is it ?

do any jehovah`s witnesses or ex jehovah`s witnesses even know what that sin is ?.

why is such a statement in the bible if its not identified what that sin is ?.

were the authors of the book just playing with peoples heads ?

“Therefore I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the one to come.” Matt 12:31,32

“Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter. 29But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.”

Jesus made this statement because they were saying, “He has an unclean spirit.” Mark 3:28-30

Don’t we see this committed by the organization every time they disfellowship an anointed one, who speaks truth from their heart? Ray Franz is an example.
