The book of Daniel is all about the period immediately before it was written in the 2nd century BCE. Specifically religious oppression under Antiochus IV Epiphanes with reference to Babylon as a metaphor. It also includes exaggerated end times claims typical of the apocalyptic genre. The inherent Jewish bias that their god was (already) sovereign is unsurprising.

I see that the previous poster quotes from a Wikipedia source showing that the book of Daniel is about God's Kingdom which nicely agrees with the source I cited that you ignored but when it suits your argument you are quite happy to quote Wikipedia in a post referring to the history of the Bible Students.

Unable to make any actual direct refutation from the Bible itself, you insist, ‘no you just haven’t read this entire other subjective book that I won’t bother providing any detail from.’ Suffice to say you disagree with many of Waltke’s theological opinions so you’re cherry picking anyway.

The joke is on you for if you bother to read the endpiece of Waltke's volume it reads as quoted " Through careful, he shows that the unifying theme of the Old Testament is the "inbreaking of the kingdom of God". This theme helps the reader better understand not only the Old Testament, but also the New Testament, the continuity between the Testaments, and ultimately, God himself and one's own self".

Regarding Daniel, I invite you if you so dare to read pp. 158-59.

Nope. That is a lie perpetuated by JWs. The branch of the Bible Student movement that retained control of the Watch Tower Society later adopted the name Jehovah’s Witnesses. Other Bible Student movement groups still exist, adhering more closely to Russell’s teachings to varying degrees.

No, you’ve made a category error. 🤦‍♂️ Millenarians (specifically the belief in Christ’s second advent bringing about the 1,000 year reign) are Adventists. You may be confusing the term Adventist with the more specific ‘7th-day Adventists’ or some other offshoot. And the connections between the Millerite and Bible Student movements are well established. And all of them are offshoots of Protestantism.

If you really want to get specific, I suppose you could say JWs developed via the Bible Student movement via Adventism via Millerism via millennialism via Protestantism, but it still doesn’t get around their Adventist origins via Protestantism --
