Geeez Simon! They’re not even confirmed dead yet for heaven sake, and you’re already saying what most of us are thinking.

The currently missing 'Titan' submarine. What do you think?
by SydBarrett inany opinions are just speculation, but my guess, being morbid, is that there was not a hull breach and implosion (although that would have been the most merciful fate for them), but instead the amateur level of building this thing meant that it lost power and communication and got itself tangled in the titanic's wreckage or is sitting on the actual seabed with no way to release ballast to resurface.
terrifying.
what's your gut feeling?

Regional Convention Attendance
by XBEHERE inelder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).
he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.
co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

Rattigan, I once viewed the assemblies and conventions as mixers for finding a wife. But now even that seems to have gone by the wayside. They now serve as revenue streams only sprinkled with a little control for flavor.

All questions can be answered by "Logan's Run".
Logan and others were happy living in bliss until they turned 30, and faced death. They were happier when they broke out of the domes.
I am only sad because I did not leave the Org sooner than I did. I have no illusions about false bliss experienced while a subject of WTC.

Blondie - I also recall WTC claiming that (now that you mention it). At the time I thought it was a disinguous claim. Glad you remembered that!

If you do send a letter, here are a few options you might consider:
1. Include a bill for reimbursal of all the contributions you made while in. Itemize carefully and indicate it should be paid in full in 30 days or else...
2. Tell them Jesus told you to do it. Be as authentic as possible.
3. Write it in crayon and draw some pictures - stick figures of you.
4. Make a fold out and use Michael Jacksons face.
5. Put a picture of a really cool sports car and say this is another reason you left.
6. Ask if everyone you knew was able to get over the STD's they contracted on the last Intl' Convention - be sincere.
7. Ask if they could drop by the local Catholic parish where some kind fellows were asking for a visit. Give the address. Make it believable.
8. Do nothing and live your life, find joy, have a great meal and an even better beer.

Top AI inventor Geoffrey Hinton reluctantly concluded that AI will probably humanity fairly soon
by slimboyfat ingeoffrey hinton, major inventor of artificial intelligence: .
“if you take the existential risk seriously, as i now do—i used to think it was way off, but now i think it’s serious, and fairly close—it might be quite sensible to just stop developing these things any further, but i think it’s completely naïve to think that would happen.
there’s no way to make that happen.

"AI is a higher level but it is slso (sic) only a program, a calculator, as cofty said needs a battery and can burn a capacitor or blow out a circuit."
If it gets 300 miles on a single charge, that's a lot of "Death Race 2000" to sit through. Is David Carradine still alive? Let's ask him if an AI EV could kill more people than Uma Thurmond searching for Bill.

I recall Sandra Bullock in a movie years ago that depicted identity theft and other malicious online surveillance that threatened to ruin her life. I thought it was silly at the time, but now identity theft could/should be one word since it happens so much.
I suppose it is only a matter of time before something really amazing (bad) happens and we wake up to the real danger. It wasn't that long ago that warnings began to surface about CRISPR (gene splicing device). Covid came along as the technology was rocketing skyward. Covid ended - CRISPR stock tanked. I don't claim there was correlation but it does seem that when we figure out how to do something, the first thing we often do is something stupid. At least I do - I'm not proud of it.

What`s the reason some of you think JW`s are in decline ?
by smiddy3 infrom what i can see no such thing is happening.i became a jw in 1960 and remained for about 30 years and the numbers of active jw`s today in the world are far greater than they were back then.. and here in australia the numbers are much higher than they were back then .. so i don`t see that their in decline or have any worries about losing support .. don`t the numbers speak for themselves ?.
is it just wishful thinking on your part ?.

"Bernie is making me money hand over fist" said the investor being interviewed by the SEC.
"How can you be so sure?" asked the investigator.
"Because I have my monthly statement printed on a dot matrix printer that says so." said the investor.
"Would you be surprised to learn that none of your money is actually invested?" replied the investigator.
Such is the case with WTC reporting. It can neither be verified or investigated because WTC says it is so - it must be so.
Recently a CSA victim was advised by attorney to settle rather than go to court which could take at least 2-3 years. Why? He told his client that through discovery, the firm learned that the defendant could bankrupt before a jury heard the case. - An unimpeachable source
WTC is declining rapidly and the lack of transparency is evidence of a ponzi scheme that has hidden millions of publishers. They do exist but they are not in the spiritual state that WTC claims they are in, and they are no longer marching alongside WTC.
What other religions are closing houses of worship because they are rolling in money? WTC is selling because it HAS to sell. Reddit exJW has not swelled to almost 90,000 registered members because they love WTC.
Go visit Bethel, but be sure to get a written invitation from someone there before you go. Don't expect to get a grand tour since that is off limits now. Why do you think that is? Covid? If that was the case, why demand that all the sheep go back to meetings in person?
I personally knew clients of Bernie Madoff. Like the majority of his clients, they had no idea he was running a ponzi scheme until it was over. Most were intelligent people with a fair amount of money in their care/his pocket. Even onlookers were certain that Madoff was just "that damned good". And he was - just not at investing.

I don't have any idea whether or not he is guilty, but it disturbed me VERY much to read what IS known.
If he is innocent, 8 JW children (or their JW parents), all of whom have connections with JW's, possibly made damning false accusations. People don't recover from that kind of false accusation - not unless Jesus himself is later seen having a burger and a beer with him at Applebees..
If he is guilty, he is walking free because no one cared enough to beat the living sh__ out of him or at least to get the necessary evidence when he was raping! What is wrong with JW's?????? Wake up! It's not just a sin and a crime, it is heinous beyond what is considered morally repugnant.
The organization used to claim to be morally clean and more acceptable to God. Now they are often found to be looking the other way with earplugs to drown out the screams.
Hey JW's - meet the tribe of Benjamin who shielded some worthless rapist murderers and almost got wiped out as a result by the other tribes of Israel. Be quick to turn in criminals - that is what a true God would expect.
On the other hand, don't make false accusations like the worthless men who Jezebel paid to falsely accuse Naboth so that her sorry husband could get his vineyard. This nonsense with JWs needs to end - whatever the case, STOP acting like you represent the true God when you act like a never ending episode of Jerry Springer (RIP).
I need a drink.
