for i do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to israel until the fullness of the gentiles has come in.
- romans 11:25. .
i wonder how many of you having read the 11 chapter of romans, see that the jews have not been rejected of god forever.. seems to me from the above verse that they were blinded to the truth, and that this blindness is temporary ... until the fullness of the gentiles, the gentiles, of course being those who would make up the church class, the bride of christ, the 144,000.. what say ye?.
Hello RR,
I know you. I know you run a Forum for Bible Students on Bravenet. I have seen your forum.
Just consider me an ongoing nightmare that will not go away.
God Bless you and those on your forum with the "real truth".
Hope to talk to you some more.

Hello RR,
I agree with your analogy.
Excuse the change of subject, but is it ok if I ask you something?
Of what belief are you? Do you belong to a certain faith or movement?
Hope you do not mind me asking.

Good quote thinker.
To put faith in an organization like the WTBTS is pure spiritual suicide. They have had very little right from the beggening. It is a shame that even though facts are presented to the rank and file JW about the shifting tides of the WT, they will still look to the WT and the elders for guidance. It shows how much Satan has really blinded the minds of those that do not wish to believe but chose to stay in the blinded state they are in.
i am not a jehovah's witness, but i do want to know something.. why do jehovah's witnesses call themselves jehovah's witnesses?.
why do they (in this country anyway, uk,) go from door to door?.
i have never heard a jehovah's witness explain why they go around house to house.. i hope someone can answer these questions for me.
questionnaires,
Frenchy pretty much gave a good run down of why JWs go door to door and call themselves Jehovah's Witnesses. A few thoughts on this, I will leave with you.
Another reason the second President of the WTBTS, Joseph Rutherford called themselves Jehovah's Witnesses in 1931 is to isolate themselves by name in a sense from the International Bible Students. The Bible Students are active today and many still hold to Charles T. Russell's works Studies in the Scriptures. The Watchtower today looks at the Bible Students as basically the evil slave. Some more educated JWs I deal with have become friends to many Bible Students and swap material such as the older publications of the WT.
Excuse my rambling, back to the subject. To isolate from the name Bible Students gave the WT a new start in a sense from the false predictions and nonesense Russell taught. Unfortunatly Rutherford taught his own nonesense and false predictions. With time people foreget what was taught from year to year especially when teachings change as much as the Watchtowers.
A few things Frenchy left out why JWs go door to door, they are under a sense of guilt that the WT has imposed upon them to go door to door. Every cult or controling religion for that matter seems to put the rank and file under its thumb to perform. The WT has many free salesmen and ladies going door to door pushing what they believe to be a life saving message. Remember, the life saving message taught today could very well be the teachings from demons tommorrow. This has been the case with the WT.
Also another reason JWs go door to door is because afterwards they congregate at the donut shop and swap stories of how many magazines they placed at the door and how many new prospects for converting they met at the door, not to mention munching out on them there goodies and swilling down coffee and juice. I knew some that count their time while sitting at the donut shop eating donuts, I was one. Got to get them hours in!
That reminds me, another reason JWs go door to door is because they have what is considered a time sheet, did they do away with that?
Anyway, JWs had to count their time each week that they went door to door and turn it into the congregation as well as what they sold door to door. It is a way to keep tabs on the rank and file to keep them active in the preaching work. I remember fudging on my time sheet all of the time to make it look like I was doing what a good JW does, put in the hours selling literature for the Society. Of course they do not look at it that way.
Anyway, I am sure there are a few other reasons why JWs go door to door but I cannot think of anymore right now.
OH, I thought of another, there was a guy in our congregation (when I was still active) that on occasions went door to door by himself. He was busted a few times for looking through peoples windows. One of the windows he was looking through was in the back of a womans house. How he mistaken the front door for this womans bathroom window in the back of her house I will never know. Anyway, the lady of the house was taking a shower and saw this representative for Gods organization peeking in on her. Well, this guy was finally disfellowshipped after having this happen more than once.
If I can remember anymore why JWs go door to door, or bathroom window to bathroom window, I will post it. :-)
just picture this.. two jehovah's witnesses walking through the local mall or shopping center on saturday morning doing what most active jws do on saturday.
trying to get in their hours to report to big brother, or in this case, mother.. the two witnesses are doing street work.
one of the witnesses is a well known jw elder in the congregation.
Pathofthorns and waiting,
Getting them to think is what it is about. The WT has taken the JWs ability to think (FREELY) away. Once they are free to think and question and act upon logic and common sense, they are on their way out, we hope!

Hello Theo,
Thank you for your answers.
I believe that one can have a good relationship with God without having knowledge of the Bible or having a limited knowledge. There are many who claim to be Christians and have a command of scripture but do not show what they claim to believe in action. I know some individuals that have a very limited knowledge of the Bible but pray and acknowledge that there is a God. They live very clean moral lives and show a deep concern for others as well as their surroundings. It is not that they do not believe in the Bible and what it says, they just do not think it is necessary to know all of what it contains.
As far as Jehovah's Witnesses being judged adversely by God, I am sure many will be, just like many in all religions will, including those that do not adhere to religions. This is something in Gods hands not a belief of men.
As far as a Jehovah's Witness having a good and true relationship with God, I believe it can be so, just as a Catholic or a Mormon can also. I am not God and it is not for me to say who really has a good relationship with God and who does not. I know that there are many false teachings by religious institutes including the ones mentioned above, but the individual that supports these or are a member, at times I believe does not actually adhere to much of what is or was taught, but tries there best to ask God for help and understanding. I believe that God does listen to these ones and does help them at times. I also believe if one does have the facts of what is right and wrong and continues acting upon the wrong or continues in a course of mindless error, they will reap what they sow.

She can see when folks are hungry or tired, and she can see what'll make them feel better. She can see how to fix a lot of things to have fun with, and she can see when a boy is about to cry and see what to do to make him feel better. I asked her one day how she can see so good, and she said that it was the way she learned to look at things as she got older. So I want a pair of eyeglasses just like Grandma's, so I can see good, too!"

Just picture this.
Two Jehovah's Witnesses walking through the local mall or shopping center on Saturday morning doing what most active JWs do on Saturday. Trying to get in their hours to report to Big Brother, or in this case, Mother.
The two Witnesses are doing street work. One of the Witnesses is a well known JW elder in the congregation. They are busy confronting people with their WT and Afake Magazines or whatever is in their bookbags to present for the day. The atmosphere is somewhat busy, and the two Witnesses are talking to a few individuals sitting on a bench in the shopping center. You can tell from the reactions of the individuals sitting on the bench that they are not really interested. There are other people within ear shot listening but acting as though they are not. The well known elder is in the middle of his presentation and pulls out his New World Abomination Bible.
I walk up, confront them, and in a fairly loud voice say: HEY, I WANTED TO ASK YOU GUYS SOMETHING. YOU TWO ARE JEHOVAH WITNESSES, RIGHT?
They are a bit taken back and the elder says, yes!
I say: is it true that the Watchtower Society, the religion you support is the only true channel to God and that all other religions are false?
The elder says: we believe that our religion is true, yes.
I say: So you actually believe that all religions are false, and will be destroyed as well as everyone that supports them by Jehovah God very soon in the battle of Armageddon? Is this true?
The elder says: Well, false religion as far as we believe will be destroyed by God.
(The tention is getting thick and there are more people listening. The two that are sitting on the bench are looking intently at the two Witnesses waiting for their responses)
I say: Are all religions outside the Watchtower Society considered false by your religion and your beliefs?
(The elder is figiting with his book bag as if he is looking for something, he already has put his NWT away)
The elder says: We believe as Witnesses that God will bring destruction to all those not doing his will.
(There's some pretty long roots to these teeth as you can see)
I say: You did not answer my question though. Is it true that all those that are not of your fold or are active members of the Watchtower Society and belong to another religion will be destroyed by God in Armageddon?
(By now several people are focusing in on this discussion)
The elder says: NO!
(Theocratic warfare I reckon)
I say: Well, that's not what I was taught as a Jehovah's Witness. I just wanted to see if you would be honest with these people you are talking to, it is obvious that you refuse to be, by not telling the truth about what you really believe about those outside your faith.
(The two Witnesses stood there for a moment dumbfounded and excused themselves saying they were late for an appointment. They tried to leave a tract with one of the people they were originally talking too, the tract was refused).
I feel badly for individuals that represent themselves as agents of God, but can not tell the truth about what they believe. I also feel anger to those that are responsible for causing such deception to innocent people. People that are used to further a cause that is nothing more than a lie is a travesty.
