Redford should to stick to what he knows, making movies!
As far as those who live in mansions, if they worked for it, they deserve it, be it politician or actor.

dear friend,.
it is understandable that we americans feel an almost reflexive need for unanimity in trying times like these.
as a nation, we are rightly consumed with responding to the terrorist attacks on september 11th.

Well said larc. I actually liked Alan Keyes. He IMO was the best candidate and would have made the best President. He could tear a new back side into the clown nose Clinton and Bush put together in a debate. For the Democrats, Clinton was really intellegent, what I mean is that if you measure intellegence by how many lies can be told in a term, Clinton would be the man. The people that supported the dummy don't have much on the ball as far as I am concerned.
The Chinese and illegals benefited from the Clinton administration more than the American people.

Seeker,
No troll post here. I said Bush is the best president we have had in years, I did not say he was a great President. As far as the welfare issue, most programs, corporate or otherwise is a form of welfare when tax payers are footing the bill.
You said Clinton was an intelligent man, I agree, it takes a lot of cunning to spend 8 years in office acting like you are saving the country and having the majority believe it when in fact you are selling the country out.

I agree with ThiChi, no big deal. Bush is the best President we have had in years.
I hope he makes more cuts on more of the special interest garbage. We have too much welfare for those that chose to not work and tax payer money is supporting these dead beats.

sitting here sipping an italian margarita and getting ready.
to enjoy a romantic dinner with my beautiful wife of 20 years.
it just hits me - how great is this?
bluesapphire,
I remember as a kid sitting in class feeling like everyone was looking at me because I was the only one not participating in the holidays. It is a lousy feeling for a kid. I have talked with several teachers about how to deal with this type of thing in class. Of course every situation is different and you will always have the hard nosed JW to deal with.
One teacher always includes the JW kids at the parties they have in class. The teacher specifically tells the kids that the cake, candy, etc she is giving them has nothing to do with the celebration taking place. It is just a gift from her to the child. The teacher usually has a treat she brings from home that does not have Christmas, Valetines or anything related to the party. This way the child does not feel left out completely. I have not heard from any teachers I know that any of the JW parents have gotten on their case for bringing a treat not related to the party.
I am sure glad I am not raising my kids in the JW cult.

My wife and I are going out to dinner tomorrow night with 12 other couples, all friends of ours. I bought my wife a new outfit, she picked it. Tonight we are just watching TV with the kids and relaxing.

Simple Mistake?
How many mistakes does it take before people who follow, believe and teach such mistakes wake up and stop putting their faith in simple men.
The mistakes were not simple. The WT controlled peoples lives and the way they believe. People gave up a real life for a lie and one that had no realism to it. Some gave up jobs, school, family, and even their own life for what the WT and the active rank and file JW calls a simple mistake. The only thing simple is the way people think when following the dictates of the WT. They are truly simpletons.

Soon, a baby boy was brought into the world. "Whoa there," said the doctor. "Don't be in a rush to put the lantern down.
I think there's yet another one to come."
Sure enough, within minutes he had delivered a baby girl.
"No, no, don't be in a great hurry to be putting down that lantern. It seems there's yet another one in there!" cried the doctor.
The Redneck scratched his head in bewilderment, and asked the doctor,
"Do you think it's the light that's attractin' 'em?"
