You can't prove that I am not god and testing you right now ... demanding that you send me $10,000 USD. By your logic, you should send it because you just don't know and "better safe than sorry?". You're not accounting for the cost, there is always a cost.

You raise two important points there.
1. I have reached the point where I’m comfortable in not knowing. It may be true it may not be so what! Flat earth, moon landings in the 1960s, they have a rover on Mars for over ten years never breaks down etc etc

2. “Although I do not write off the possibility of a god existing, I live my life as if I am sure none does.”
I’m slightly different I live my life as if I’m not sure God exists, but I don’t write off the possibility the evolution theory may be true
