If King of North/South was true, would it be about Islam?
by Bad_Wolf inreading it in daniel 11, especially towards the end, 11:40-45, if king of the north would be christianity/usa/jews(if they do control usa), and king of the south, islam.
in those end the king of the south is mainly an irritant.
not much power, and the king of the north has big armies and power, so overtakes the middle east.

by cofty inthree christian churches and three luxury hotels have been attacked in sri lanka this morning resulting in more than 130 deaths.. buddhism is the state religion in sri lanka accounting for 70% of the population, hindus make up 12% with islam and christianity comprising 9% and 7% respectively.
no group has yet claimed responsibility.
a civil war between government forces and separatist tamil tigers ended in 2009. the war lasted 26 years and cost at least 70,000 lives.

I like how most news media are talking about the civil war, buddists, hindus, etc, and having the word muslim as a footnote. It's already known the muslims did the attacks, but most media trying to hide it. I wonder if the aloha snackbars did it to the media centers, if they would still be hiding who did it.

What's the point?
by Incognigo Montoya init has always baffled me, if earth and it's inhabitants, are god's sole sentient creation (aside from the angel's and demons) along with the animal life, why create such a vast galaxy, along with billions of other galaxies, with their trillions of stars and planets, etc.
what's the point?
our galaxy surely would've been enough, in a great void of blackness.

We haven't seen any other civilizations because of light speed. Hundreds, thousands, or millions of light years away means that is what we would see. And vice versa. If there was a planet with intelligent life light years away, if they had an insanely high powered telescope to view onto our land when no clouds covering, the distance away would be how many years in the past they were viewing. They would not see us today, but hundreds, thousands, or millions of years ago.
Unless we ever developed the technology to travel faster than the speed of light, we will never get very far either. Same for other life elsewhere. So perhaps there is intelligent life on millions of planets right now but we won't see it in our lifetime if all began relatively the same time.

Why do some JWs love seeing others get disfellowshipped?
by Tameria2001 ini'm not sure how many in the organization is like this, but there some jws who love seeing others get disfellowshipped, and my father-in-law is one of those.
he became a jw because he loved the idea of being the head of the household, and lording it over his family.
as a jw he is very hypocritical, my husband would tell stories of how they would celebrate christmas until his mother-in-law called him on it.

Those claiming "hypocrisy" (that's all they can claim) please answer this:
Do you know of anyone that has been disfellowshipped for purchasing 8 bottles of Scotch?
If not, how is it hypocrisy?
If so, please provide detail of what they were really disfellowshipped for - because it's not a DF offence.Are you really being serious? Did you not ever see the video of sophia being guilt tripped into not getting an ice cream but donating instead? Or the many years in which not to plan for retirement, not to save, not to work extra, not to get higher education, just make enough to scrape by. Those people who took the WT advice would not be able to afford buying $850 in booze at one time. That's probably a months income for many JWs. Or like my mother and her husband, who weren't supposed to live to retirement because the end would come long before that, now living on $1000 a month and all welfare programs possible and can't afford dental, because they listened to tight pants tony, who should be in equal position as them, but instead using their donations to buy $850 of top shelf liquor and anything he could want is taken care of.
Any other JW or even elder could buy that stuff, because it would be on their own dime and they aren't the ones who originated and invented the living in poverty because the end is here. The GB members have ZERO excuse, and for them it is hypocrisy! -
