I met some cousins in person too that I had known about from FB. Now discovering family did not know about which is exciting.

Finding lost relatives or ancestry interest after leaving??
by Bad_Wolf inwhile i was in the borg, the only relatives i knew and we mainly kept in contact with were jw's.
on one side of my family, back to my grandparents, they cut ties with all the non jw family when they converted.

While I was in the borg, the only relatives I knew and we mainly kept in contact with were JW's. On one side of my family, back to my grandparents, they cut ties with all the non jw family when they converted. I've found some through facebook, but only those I knew about. I thought all my relatives would be forever lost until....
I recently did a DNA thing. I was shocked in addition to learning more about my ancestry, it matched me up with others who did it who were cousins of mine. I was a little suspicious of these were really legit or not. One of which our ties or split went back to the 1800's, the tree merged and they already had details going back to the late 1600's of our common grandparent of the 1800's. When I was a kid, my grandparents told me of a book that had that history going to the 1600's that they burned thinking it was possessed, so I thought it was forever lost. So happy to have found a relative who shares that history and had all the information. Will probably meet them and they connected with relatives in overseas and visit each year.
I first did it on the myheritage site, but since ancestry is bigger, I'm doing it on that site too. The ancestry results should be practically identical but DNA matching to relatives only happens if others did it for the same company, that's why I'm doing it on more than just 1. I suppose when I was a JW I didn't care to find out too much, assuming I would in the 'new world'. But this dna stuff is cool to really discover your ancestry and find long lost relatives.
If you've been wanting to do it, but waiting for a deal vs their general $99 cost, until 4/25 you can get $30 off so it's only $69, and after 4/25 it's $15 off if use referral code http://refer.dna.ancestry.com/s/jason0423 I'll get a whooping $10 amazon card if you do it. I don't promote stuff to make pocket change. I know many who became JW's have lost their relatives, and this is a way to find lost relatives and your history if it interests you.
Has anyone else done these and any interesting stories or finding relatives from it?

Sri Lanka's state minister of defence said [today] that the Easter Sunday bombings were in retaliation for the New Zealand terror attack on two mosques in Christchurch, as reported in the Financial Times.
Utter drivel and BS. I guess all of these easter day bombings in the past were just preemptive revenge attacks?

How in the world do extremist Muslims think acts like this is going to benefit their cause ?
shouldn`t common sense tell them that these very acts of atrocity are eventually going to be their very undoing ?
And that world opinion will eventually not tolerate this anymore ?I agree. No more catch and release. (unless castration). Remove from the gene pool.

Japan has taken notice. That's why she won't accept Muslim refugees.
Same with Poland and Hungary. No muslims, no terrorism. EU have been pissed they were refusing to take their share. Hopefully idiot lefties will eventually notice the reason why France, Germany, UK have problems and Poland and Hungary don't.

If King of North/South was true, would it be about Islam?
by Bad_Wolf inreading it in daniel 11, especially towards the end, 11:40-45, if king of the north would be christianity/usa/jews(if they do control usa), and king of the south, islam.
in those end the king of the south is mainly an irritant.
not much power, and the king of the north has big armies and power, so overtakes the middle east.

Recent events, and the muslims attacking french churchs, sri lanka, etc, Daniel being written to be to Jews, then Christians being King of the North and Islamists, King of the South.

I like how most news media are talking about the civil war, buddists, hindus, etc, and having the word muslim as a footnote. It's already known the muslims did the attacks, but most media trying to hide it. I wonder if the aloha snackbars did it to the media centers, if they would still be hiding who did it.

What's the point?
by Incognigo Montoya init has always baffled me, if earth and it's inhabitants, are god's sole sentient creation (aside from the angel's and demons) along with the animal life, why create such a vast galaxy, along with billions of other galaxies, with their trillions of stars and planets, etc.
what's the point?
our galaxy surely would've been enough, in a great void of blackness.

We haven't seen any other civilizations because of light speed. Hundreds, thousands, or millions of light years away means that is what we would see. And vice versa. If there was a planet with intelligent life light years away, if they had an insanely high powered telescope to view onto our land when no clouds covering, the distance away would be how many years in the past they were viewing. They would not see us today, but hundreds, thousands, or millions of years ago.
Unless we ever developed the technology to travel faster than the speed of light, we will never get very far either. Same for other life elsewhere. So perhaps there is intelligent life on millions of planets right now but we won't see it in our lifetime if all began relatively the same time.

Are JW's in the open in Lebanon or underground like in most Sharia law countries?
