it is illogical to say that “jesus was anointed as christ”.
that’s like saying that “jesus was anointed as anointed”.
the question that needs to be asked is: “what was jesus anointed as?”.
Well then, should we keep on sinning so that God can show us more and more of his wonderful grace? Of course not! Since we have died to sin, how can we continue to live in it? Or have you forgotten that when we were joined with Christ Jesus in baptism, we joined him in his death? For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was. We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.’

I haven't actually. I cannot say much about his writings. I do read mostly 30s and 40s.

But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Yes, I was raised be old school parents and I not interested in any literature which was written after the late 40s early 50s when it was decided to change course and JW to become a religion.

I agree they were written in a literal context, but they were all prophecies. There is a fine between belief and non-belief. If you believe all it says in the Bible everything make sense, if not everything it's just a waste of time. After all we all believe in something. It s how our brain works . It gives us sense of purpose, sparing us from existential angst.
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
Rather, we speak God’s wisdom, mysterious, hidden, which God predetermined before the ages for our glory, 8and which none of the rulers of this age knew; for, if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written:“What eye has not seen, and ear has not heard,and what has not entered the human heart,what God has prepared for those who love him, this God has revealed to us through the Spirit.
For the Spirit scrutinizes everything, even the depths of God. Among human beings, who knows what pertains to a person except the spirit of the person that is within? Similarly, no one knows what pertains to God except the Spirit of God. We have not received the spirit of the world but the Spirit that is from God, so that we may understand the things freely given us by God. And we speak about them not with words taught by human wisdom, but with words taught by the Spirit, describing spiritual realities in spiritual terms.14Now the natural person does not accept what pertains to the Spirit of God, for to him it is foolishness, and he cannot understand it, because it is judged spiritually. The spiritual person, however, can judge everything but is not subject to judgment by anyone.i'm new to the forum.

Hi! my name is Adrian and I am also new to the forum. I do not want to offend anyone or argue. Just trying to present the other side of the story. I am a Jehovah witness but not associated with WT. I do believe in the Bible and I believe that Adam and Eve were real and they were made by God through science, same as humans create today artificial life. Jesus existed before Adam and Eve took part at their creation.
As for the world creation JW never thaught that was done in six literal days. It was actually six days of 7000 years each. This was only for life creation.The age of earth and universe is not known. We are in the seventh day now which is made of 6000 years that have already past plus the judgement day mentioned in revelation which will last 1000 years. In this rest day God was inactive regarding earth and he delegated all responsibility to Jesus.
Most people struggle with the facts presented in the bible, but I do struggle with the big bang and what it was before that. How from nothing and chaos resulted life with its complexity and with the genetic code which I believe is pure science that comes from intelligent life.
i have no love loss for the gb or religion and this is not an apologist attempt.
in fact i hate the religion and the gb.
but i watch night after night young kids who's minds have been corrupted by the propaganda and dogma that modern college's are teaching them.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom;
A good understanding have all those who do His commandments;
His praise endures forever

21but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. 22Stay away from every kind of evil.
23Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. 24God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful.
