They say there is no evil slave but the day of the Lord has come. The Bible contradicts them. If they say the Catholic church is the man of lawlessness, it has been around for about 1700 years. They say the beast of the revelation is the UN and yet they join the beast and praise her for maintainig the world peace so they can preach the gospel undisturbed . They say the superior authorities are from satan and in the same time ministers of God. They also say that Jesus is not worthy of worship and we cannot pray to Him. The bible again contradicts them.There is nothing to defend. Their late teachings are contradictory and not consistent.

so this must be political correctness on steroids.. i have occasionally heard the name steve hassan mentioned in relation to the watchtower.

but even watchtower helps people to escape cults.

i was told that if a jw now gets caught reading or with old jw literature they can get dfed.

i doubt this is true but wanted to know for sure.

Do you think “Eventually” the Whole World will become Socialist?

when i say; “socialist” i don’t mean everyone is equal.

instead i am referring to “leaders” being rich and powerful, whereas the ordinary citizen being poor, and powerless.. i was surprise that the majority of the world is run by socialist government.

the last few countries that are not socialist are the united states and parts of europe.

I lived in a communist country. In the beginning they got rid of all the elites (intellectuals and politicians), they banned religion and other ideologies not in line with the state's party. Then they started to raise into power simple and uneducated people loyal to the communist party. Next generation was brainwashed and persuaded that communism is better than capitalism. They portrayed capitalism as ruthless and unfair. They gave people everything for free: housing, schooling, healthcare. Eventually, they run out of money and collapsed. Everything was like a big concentration camp. One in ten people was giving info to the state's security. There was proximity militia in every neighbourhood. There was perfect control. And you will be surprised that the vast majority of people were happy with that situation. The little dissent was easy to silence. Corruption was everywhere. Their biggest problem was money. They were not very good at making anything profitable.

However, China seems to be the ultimate authoritarian state. Communist leadership powered by capitalist economy. Time will tell.

i thought i would post an encouraging experience i found today.

i've been seeing a lot of 70-80 year old jws waking up, and their children are posting their experience on reddit.

these are old elders, pioneers, circuit overseers who have given their everything and finally at the end of their life, are walking away.. maybe the key to waking up is that a person has to have a deep sense of right and wrong.

It's ok. Even if it was an insult, I hardly take any offense nowadays. In general we don't have anything in particular with people. It's ideas and doctrines we don't agree with that bothers us the most (especially when they are forced upon us). But as you said we need to keep an open mind and try to figure out for ourselves what is going on, considering the limited amount of time we have in this life. Not everything is what it appears to be. (See Plato's allegory of the cave). When you start to doubt the Bible's content and authenticity everything falls apart. It's important to come to the conclusion whether the Bible's content make sense or not. We tend to be curious about our existence and we try to look around us for different sources of information. I believe Jesus was special in human history. His message was simple but he managed to distroy all the gods of the mighty Roman empire. We even count the time since He was born. It is very debatable to say that we are the only form of intelligent life in this univers. And everything is to complex to be random. (At least this is my perception of reality, which I believe is true)
