by jdash inso, i guess the upcoming stuff i'm going to say is good to me.
my grandmother, yesterday, wanted to talk about some stuff.
she had pondered on me leaving at 18 and finally said to me that i can leave whenever, so if i wanted to leave tonight, she wouldn't stop me.

So, I guess the upcoming stuff i'm going to say is good to me. My grandmother, yesterday, wanted to talk about some stuff. She had pondered on me leaving at 18 and finally said to me that I can leave whenever, so if I wanted to leave tonight, she wouldn't stop me. It made me feel good. So I talked to the people I am moving in with and they said it was fine if i move in whenever I could, she said that she is excited to have a son! It made me feel welcomed that someone really is excited about me.
But at the same time, I am nervous to be in a new environment because most of my life I have been around JW's. It's going to be different waking up in a new house, being with new people, having more freedom, etc. I also don't want them to feel as I am going to be a burden on them. It's going to be a bitter sweet farewell*. The room I am staying in is fully furnished, but I am still confused on what to bring. Any ideas?
*I love my grandmother a lot. I hate seeing her sad, but this is a decision that will help me. She is a very nice and caring person. I don't want to hurt her.
Thanks for listening to me! Any advice or suggestions will be truly appreciated it!

WT Child/Sexual Abuse Cases and etc
by jdash ini had this argument with my grandmother and uncles about scandals that the jw's covered up and whatnot, and they won't budge.
i brought up the australian royal commission and of course they laughed.
they then said that the governing body has never lost a sexual abuse case but the "person" who did the crime got charged.

I had this argument with my grandmother and uncles about scandals that the JW's covered up and whatnot, and they won't budge. I brought up the Australian Royal Commission and of course they laughed. They then said that the Governing body has never lost a sexual abuse case but the "person" who did the crime got charged. So basically they said that the JW's have never paid money to a person for sexual/child abuse. And of course they have but the members have not been told this because the Governing body needs to keep their image clean.
Can anyone link me some cases where the JW's have lost and had to pay? Thanks!
I want them to look this stuff up but it's like they have been so brainwashed that they won't. I asked them a question which went like this "If your faith is so strong in the governing body, why can't you go to 'apostate' sites?" I then got a response as the following, "They don't have my best interest at heart." and "They are mad so they are gonna spread false information." Like literally their faith can't be that strong.
Past few days have been a bad and miserable. Grandmother said if I stay mad, I'm gonna basically crash and burn. Also said I will die fast by being mad. But the only reason I have anger is because I am forced to do this crap. Once I leave, I honestly feel that I will be happier even though I will have some problems along the way.
But some good news, I turn 18 in a month and I will be staying with a friend from school, their parents literally told me I can go live with them so that's a relief. I also got accepted into my main college so pretty happy about that. I know this post is everywhere but it was needed. I wish I could talk to some of you in person because there's so much to talk about.

@Ireneus - how do you know that she actually died "peacefully"? Did she wake up in the middle of dying and say she was peacefully dying? We have no logical evidence to base that on. We only have opinions of humans who saw her die, not her own facts.

It seems as there is an argument, if so, my fault for causing it. I just wanted to see what caused other people to question their belief in a God.
Anyways, thanks for the answers. Even though some of the few are kinda confusing.
