What is happening to our kids?
by xenawarrior inneed some input from you folks.. my daughter is 15 1/2.
she had her best friend for a sleepover last night and this morning my daughter tells me that her friend attempted suicide last week.
this is not the first of her friends to do this and i guess i'm concerned about our youth in general.

She says her friend is going to counseling but that her mom isn't being very supportive of her and thinks she should "just snap out of it" .
Maybe this is a big part of the problem?
I would think that kids in that position may believe they have nowhere to go and no options, after all, if Mum/Dad dont seem to be helpful, what is left?

by Vivamus ini am turning into a cranky bitch.
this whole week i have been anything but fun company, people can get me angry beyond reason by doing absolutely nothing.

by Xandria inthe news just came on with a "special report" and my husband looked at me and said, "uh oh what now??
" the newscaster came on.. "president bush in a operation that outdone the cia in secrecy..blah blah blah".
bottom line... the president flew into iraq to spend thanksgiving with the troops.

No there isnt a better way IMO, but what difference will arguing (discussing) it on a DB make?
You, me and anyone else all have people we would vote for, in some cases no-one, the polititions themselves cause us to support them or not by their actions (or lack of in some cases).
I guess I never could see the point of discussing politics, those people all seem to do just what they want, even if, in some cases, they promised to do something else when they were trying to get elected.
Maybe a rule that, if an elected politition did not keep promises made, they are barred from running for re-election?
Nah, that would just bring the lawyers into it, arguing points.
Looks like we are all stuck with what we got.

Try this,
Get a friend and sit on opposite sides of a table
Place a cup in the centre of the table with the handle pointing to one side
Each state which side of the cup the handle is on (left or right)
Now get into a long argument about it
Makes about as much sense as arguing politics
