  Amway, Quixtar, etc. vs. WTS

  amway, quixtar, and other mult-level marketing schemes vs. wts.. if there is anything an ex-jw cult member would recognize, it would be another cult!

  i say that b/c my uncle is an 'hardcore' quixstar member (ibo) and the more i talk to him the more similarities i see btw quixtar and the borg.

  of course he doesn't see quixtar being cult-like but to some one on the outside looking in the organizations mirror each other.

  I was amazed a few months back when an uncle tried to sell me onto Amway.

  The similarities are amazing:

  The god of Amway is money, materialism instead of the Watchtower society

  They are encouraged to meet together to encourage each other

  They are told to contact all their relatives and friends with the promise of riches in the future, although it takes years to actually get them (if ever) and most never do.

  Never give up because those riches are just over the horizon if you sell one more tube of toothpaste.

  They are encouraged to wear suits to give that business look.

  They are controlled by the IBS ( that sounds very familiar)

  AMWAY and the WATCHTOWER are one and the same surely !!!!

  for those who read....and also responded to part 1,,,,,,yes,,,,i have seen a medical doctor..... i am on antidepressants and will see the psycologist for the 3rd time this friday....she is a nice.

  lady....it has all been very hard,,,,as you know,,,,to say anything against the organization,,,,even if.

  it is the truth,,,,is a grave and deadly sin....so my conscience has hurt.....my husband has allowed.

  I hope you will soon come to realise that the guilt you are feeling is the same as everyone who has left the org because of the control that they have were they make you feel that any critisism of the org is the same as critisising the Jehovah himself, which is untrue.

  I had the same feelings of guilt when I left after being brought up in the org and was confronted with evidence of the society's involvement for 10 years as an NGO in the UN.

  This was a betrayal of us, so we need not feel guilty about this.

  The guilty ones are the society that will soon have even more things to defend and we will be vindicated in our critisism.

  Don't forget, people have been disfellowshipped for "going ahead of Jehovah" even though the society have then changed their policy years later to the same thought that the criticle ones had, but they were never offered an appology and still remained disfellowshipped.

  Please don't feel that you are in the wrong and don't get too depressed.

  There are many people on this forum who would love the opportunity to encourage you from their experiences.

  Please keep your chin up andthe more you study and realise that the society is wrong and controlling, then your stance now will be vindicated.

  Please don't hesitate to e.mail me if you need any info or just a chat on what you can do to move on.

  i say with mixed feelings and fingers crossed, but i haven't read any of you knows totally stupid and un-thought provoking posts the last few days and i was wondering if he had finally realised what a total moron he sounds or whether simon has done the decent thing and blocked the idiot from posting...or is it just wishfull thinking on my part???

  YOU KNOW posts in response to this thread and immediatly babbles on in-coherantly about absolutly nothing.

  He says that most witnesses dis-agree with him too, well, I think this is a load of crap. We all know that if you make a point of dis-agreeing with anyone in the cong you are reproved or worse disfellowshipped sharply, you wouldn't be allowed to disagree with the society on a regular basis.

  YOU KNOW tries to make out he is a rebel within the org, but I just think he is a stirrer who is quite happy to shoot his mouth of whilst nobody knows him.

  YOU KNOW is probably one one those smarmy suck-hole brothers who hang around the elders asking if they have any little jobs need doing and never opens his mouth unless heaping praise on the society and the elders.

  Am I right? Probably.

  when i was a witness we had a very paroniod congregation.

  (true story) in one case we had a bad moment in the congregation and people said we were having demon problems.

  thus they figured something was wrong.

  Do you hate me?

  perhaps i'm just a bit paranoid..but i get the feeling that there are a few posters that actually hate me (before its assumed--no i'm talking about lack of responses to my threads.. and no i am not talking about a disagreement of opinion) i am talking about a few posters that come across to me as very hateful in their responses.. and yes i know that not everyone here will like me (even though i'm so darn sweet and cute...lol) but it is an intense animosity vibe that i get and can't seem to shake.. maybe i am mistaken and maybe its just me..... but if there is anyone out there that does dislike me that much---i am curious as to why---only because i try to learn and grow everyday and your input would be especially valuable and probably essential to that -growth.. so whats the verdict---do you love me, hate me or just not care either way?.

  The main problem with the elders is that they are trained to be that way. If they aren't, they soon have it brow-beaten into them. How are they supposed to lord it over the rest of us if they don't think they are better than us?

  All the decent elders I know have recently stepped down or left altogether. I think they should just give them priests clothing and be done with it.
