New Resolution?

had our midweek meeting last night.

they had a resolution to send an extra (i wanna say $1100 but i only remember it was at least $1000) per month to forward the kingdom preaching work etc.. you know how they work in the kh...no one votes against anything.

i abstained as i almost have always done.

If those said single sisters did favors for everybody in the hall, including HIM, he BETTER fix their car for free. Everybody in the God Damned Kingdom Hall probably targeted these single sisters to do favors - and nobody ever gave a rats ass about the welfare of the women they were targeting!!!

Fair point. The sisters give of their time and even their money to help out wherever they can. My family certainly benefited from the sisters helping my mom while my dad was on his deathbed, and I benefited when I got probably the cheapest wedding I could have hoped for without just going to court. None of that came without a cost to someone, large or small.

You know what's funny? I can think of a lot of things that have "pagan origins" or "nationalistic origins". Seriously, they've done a lot.

I also know a JW that has a auto repair shop. He has had to fix more then one pioneer or single sisters car for free because they didn't have any money to pay for the needed repairs. Another JW family had him repair thier car but when it came time to pay they delayed because they had spent the money to send the wife to Hawaii so she could be at the regional convention with her family. They finally paid but it took awhile.

Ah, the covetous, freeloading JW economy. Giving a freebie would work if the group is overall well educated and employed. Having a reputation for giving freebies to a group of underemployed and undereducated leeches who've come to expect it will put you in bankruptcy.

This convention had the weirdest speakers ever! It caused me to question if it was the real thing at first...

I couldn't finish it. Every single part that I saw was so bizarre that I didn't bother with the rest. Very Orwellian, indeed.

My best friends in the world ate it all up and called it the best one yet. That was painful.
