Meh. If I want to hear the Jurassic Park or Beauty & the Beast themes, I will do so. By the way, AC/DC is a great palette cleanser if something gets in your head.

by Thisismein1972 income on a believer, everyone knows it was you so own up to it and teacher will not be cross!.
this is exactly what seems to be happening, a believer runs in drops the stink bomb and runs out again...only to pear around the door when he/she deems it safe to do so.

I'm sure he/she is a nice person. Maybe waking up and on the way out, but still resistant. Who knows?
Alternatively, the account could be accessible by multiple people. Hence the kitten avatar that got changed to Kylo Ren. Hence the story about studying for a few weeks and not knowing things like the two-witness rule, to having been in the org for years with a much more assertive tone.
Either way, A Believer works for posterity. A Believer writes an OP, we all respond to it, and it's online forever. All the lurkers can read it. Presumably everyone with access to the A Believer account can read it, too.
Honestly, @A Believer, we want the best for you. We're here. You keep on asking questions. You do you, it's your journey.

So my brother called me last night...
by pale.emperor inmy older brother is studying with the witnesses.
he was raised in a jw household like we all were but he never committed to it.
he stopped attending meetings at 18yo, made a lot of bad decisions in his life and now, at 35yo is having a bible study.

Interesting. My oldest brother came over yesterday, at first to have some beer with me, then he wouldn't drink, and then we were good all the way although he mentioned my Facebook post about the ARC and said he completely disagrees with me. I didn't really feel like arguing the point, but I'm not sure what or whom he disagrees with. It isn't just me saying this, it's the Australian Royal Commission. It's their findings, their interviews, their reports.

We should really make it a practice of storing images like this and linking to them, because the site's image compression butchers all the text mercilessly. -

Nic's Alternative Xmas Message.
by nicolaou ini've done a few of these over the years but this time it's very simple.. beware jc, the bearded man who promises salvation and raises the hopes of many.
read his words of division if you're ever tempted to join his followers, or just ignore him and enjoy your life.
happy holidays everyone!

What's Expected in Field Service?
by Cold Steel indo all potential converts have to take part in field service before baptism?
and do new members generally try to bring in their friends and family or do they generally keep their religion to themselves?
what do pioneers do if they're going door to door and chance on someone they know or work with in their personal lives?

Lying.
You have to lie to yourself when you get up in the morning.
You have to lie to the brothers and sisters you are out with.
They have to lie to you.
You all have to lie to everyone you meet.
You have to keep lying to yourself.

"Just have faith in Jehovah..."
by evilApostate ini recently spoke to an old friend of mine who is still under the clutches of the watchtower.
a while back, i had told him about all the child sex abuse coverups, false prophecies, false doctrines etc.
he was really shocked and surprised.

@eyeuse2badub They actually don't use the Reasoning book anymore, and I'm fairly certain it's out of print. Because reasons.
@BluesBrother the "veil over their eyes" right? It still amazes me that a seemingly intelligent person will say "The world has a veil over their eyes". It's like they're projecting.
