having seen a few of these tv productions and some youtube clips of their assembly parts, how can jehovah's witnesses really take these silly little men seriously?.

you take one look at them; their overweight, fat little bodies.

So I told my mom that the GB is asking for money whilst wearing Rolexes.

She said maybe they're gifts. I said that if so, that's quite a big gift and I would wonder what the favor was, I wonder why the Rolexes weren't sold, and I wonder why a donation wasn't accepted instead. So at the end of the day, they're asking for money whilst wearing Rolexes.

She said judge not that you're not judged! So I said I don't make it a habit of wearing Rolexes or EVER asking for money. So... Yeah.

Fugly or not, these dorks have sincere followers.

A Comforting Thought About Watchtower

this organization will never again be what it was by 2013-2014. .

they peaked in the form they were, i believe they were already falling apart in ways, but from the outside and to the majority r&f, things likely still seemed on the up and up.

browsing through the boards and just keeping my finger on the pulse of what's happening, this organization will never again be what it was.

I care to the extent that I don't wish anyone else to enter this cult or continue, but I know that they will. I don't want the same story to be lived out again, but I know that it will. Eventually, the day might come when we can whistle at Babylon's passing, but it isn't here yet and there are bigger threats in the world.

come on a believer, everyone knows it was you so own up to it and teacher will not be cross!.

this is exactly what seems to be happening, a believer runs in drops the stink bomb and runs out again...only to pear around the door when he/she deems it safe to do so.

Did you you know that another woman came up with the religion from which Jehovahs Witnesses are descended? Without her teaching there would be no JW's.
Now, they've decided women cannot teach...but they wouldn't exist in this form had they not.

@A Believer, it's perfectly understandable if you believe in God and the Bible and the JWs.

You know those people at the door?

Many of them believe in God, too. Many of them believe in the Bible. Many of them are firm in their beliefs.

When God judges everyone, will he judge them on their beliefs? Will he judge them for using their brains which he gave them? What if they considered the evidence and came up with another conclusion?

Are JWs as eager to accept voluntary disassociation by minor JWs as they are to baptize them?

we all know that the organization shamelessly pushes for youth baptism, even encouraging parents to withhold driver's licenses from driving-aged teens unless they get baptized.

i've been asking myself: since they are wiling to accept minor baptisms, are they also willing to accept letters of disassociation signed by young minors?.

i ask this because it seems to me that a signed letter of resignation has a greater "air of legality" to it than baptism, because its a signed document just as most contracts are signed documents.

That is a fantastic argument against youth baptism. If you can't leave, why join? If you can't accept a minor's DA letter, why accept the minor's baptism?

Noah a Preacher of Righteousness?

during the watchtower study today, i browsed genesis and looked for evidence of noah ever preaching to anyone.

from what i could glean from the scriptures, it was a foregone conclusion that noah's family would be it on the ark.

(unless they towed some rafts behind) my wife says that building the ark could be considered a witness of his faith to the wicked world, but that seems kind of lame to me.. so, should i just assume that god decided not to give anyone else a chance for redemption?

Ziusudra was a preacher of righteousness? I'm afraid we don't have enough information about him to make that call. Utnapishtim was arguably a better preacher than Noah, if only because he convinced all of his kin to come on the ship, not just 7 other people in his immediate family.
