If you get a paycheck, how long will it last?
But, you'll get another paycheck, right? And another? And more after that? The fact is that they continue to get donations, amazing as that is.
on the front of the 2016 year book it says that the watchtower is spending $200 million us dollars a year on special pioners etc if they get $1 billion us dollars from selling all the buildings at bethel in new york by my mats that gives them another five years or so.what might happen after that ????
:-).

hey all,.
we have purchased a bunch of great books recently, and one of them is from author kyria abrahams called "i'm perfect, you're doomed".
i'm only 5 chapters in at this stage, but i just have to share that this is a great read!.
In the second legend, a little boy brings a smurf plush doll to the Sunday meeting. In the middle of the talk the doll suddenly springs to life and yells "I can't listen to this shit anymore!" He then hops out of the boy's lap and walks out the exit (presumably one of the ushers opened it for him).
LMAO that is hilarious! Yes, wouldn't want to be like that Smurf would you?
I'd just heard that Smurfs were "demons". In your story, it seems they're not only demons but apostates.
With Mork and Mindy, some crazies asked who Mork was talking to in the dark and alleged that since he is an alien, it must actually be Satan. Of course. Nothing can be fun, everything had to be LITERALLY demonized.
The thing that hit my childhood was Zelda. It is as innocuous as you could get and yet the legend was that the game was haunted and would cause problems in your house. My parents threw our copy away, because they said they heard the music playing at night.
Do you know why they heard the music?
Because my brother snuck out of bed to play it.
Those times were superstitious a.f.
i seem to remember many talks and articles in the past about repeating rumors.last night before going into the book study the conductor said something to the effect, "i heard a rumor and i don't know if it's true but the rumor is that in the future we will be using only;y videos at the door.".
anyone else heard this "rumor"?.
and whats up with repeating rumors from the platform?
In all seriousness, if they mostly do away with paper, and commit to videos, they would probably consider online advertising next. Scientology does it, LDS does it... "Brooklyn Brothers Signs" does it for their JW carts, so why not JWorg?
And at that point, if he wished to do so, I would contribute to Paul to advertise jwfacts.com as well.

Smurf thing? What, that they're "DEMONIZED?!"
I haven't read the book, but I remember some crazy shit back in the day about the dumbest things. Smurfs, Mork and Mindy, the Legend of Zelda... Just ugh.
i understand people love their family but i also don't understand why you end up caring in the end.
i'm ready to leave and i 100% don't expecting my family to have any contact with me nor do i want them to contact me.
if they are going to chose a man made religion over me, that's their choice and i will sleep easy at night.
Totally up to you, whatever costs you are aware of.
I feel similarly, though I don't put it to others in such a slightly aggressive way as "Why do you feel --?" Personally, I have pre-shunned a few people out of disgust. I have also been shunned by some old friends and family members without being DFed. I discovered a few "friends" who I didn't mind losing once they showed their real selves.
And ultimately, that's a price I needed to pay. The benefit is freedom and understanding and individuation, rather than indentured servitude.
Soon, I plan on getting together with cousins and an aunt who were CUT OFF from my family decades ago. I'd also love to see more family members whom I've never had the pleasure of meeting. Family goes beyond the immediate, and even in my immediate family, I don't believe I would be entirely judiciously shunned at this point.
my wife is still nominally in, but only because it "makes me (her) happy".
there is nothing academic about her beliefs and when i try, she interprets me as negative.. but then she cusses like a sailor and watches certain movies with me.
her birthday is coming up and it's also right around valentine's day.
Not to change the subject, but I recently gave someone a birthday present for the first time in my life. I gave my history instructor an apple on his birthday, by no means an extravagant gift, but he really seemed to appreciate that I remembered. It felt good.
An apple for a teacher is classic. I plan on gradually following more customs of the world around me, though I don't feel the need to visibly invest in Christmas decorations or anything. I am learning more about the equinoxes and solstices though, and that's interesting stuff. It feels good.
I wish I could play the football pool at work, just for fun, but I'd be in a JC promptly if I did that. I guess I could get litigious if the dubs at work reported me, but that is not worth it one bit.
Being in the USA at this point in history, I promptly want to read more about our government, the Federalist papers, the Constitution, and local issues especially. I voted for the first time in October (early mail ballot) and when it came to local elections, I admit that I simply voted by party rather than issue, and I don't feel that is a rational way to do it. In my defense, where I did have a more thoughtful opinion on a local proposition, that is how I voted.
It just feels better to be a free human being.

I have seen that on Scribd but haven't read it yet. It is a shame how some of the comments review it as a bit of the author feeling sorry for herself, but I think that's pretty understandable. Alright, I'll give it a shot. :)

I'll take all that into consideration, @scratchme1010, thank you. I gauged her earlier at lunch. :) I said I want to do something for her this month, and got a great big blushing smile from her. (She did mention feeling so much better around her birthday over the weekend, and we've even discussed each other's zodiac signs out of morbid curiosity haha. However, I did not bring this up today. I just let it resonate in the background.)
Then I asked if she would like or need anything in particular... Long story short, I know exactly what to get her, and it's totally not a "guy gift". :)

Those are great ideas, guys. Anti-birthday present and a nice dinner. Love it.
Happy birthday hun.
