I think the idea we're discussing is making it normal to leave the JWs, because it damn well should be. This is also why I say as much about myself online.

A new way to boost hours
by neat blue dog init seems that metro witnesses have beeen directed to now have a total of 5 people at each location, as well as 'encouraged' to witness on their lunch breaks, (thus being able to count their time all the way through).
these 2 things should help boost the yearly hours..

The break time idea isn't unusual. By "a total of 5 people at each location", do we mean a service group of 5 (with the odd man out), or 5 individuals dressed up and standing around a display cart?

About 1.8 Millions disfellowshipped since 1981 and about 1.3 Million still are!
by StephaneLaliberte inthis means that for every 6 publishers, there is a disfellowshipped person.
this statistic doesn't take into account all of the kids that become/removed as publishers and receive a similar treatment from their family.
conclusion: jehovah's witnesses do break up families.

Any Jehovah's Witness disputing this is welcome to send a letter to the society and ask for the definitive numbers as they obviously have access to them.
What? Those numbers aren't tied up in a bungled SharePoint database?

607 vs. 587 was important for me and my mss. reading Jer. 25 (jw.org version rev. 2013) clearly shows that: the nations around Jerusalem and Judah and Judah itself would have to serve Babylon for 70 Years. "But when 70 years have been fulfilled,+ I will call to account* the king of Babylon and that nation for their error". as Fisherman wrote, this was documented to happen in 539. "a verifiable, historical fact. It is indisputable". Then i used the Insight book to establish what happened in the 70 years before 539. so from 609 to 539. Reading the insight book, it was easy to establish that Nabopallassar, Nebukadnezars father, made babylon the regional superpower in 609, by conquering Haran, and that the line of kings till 539 lastet exactly 70 years, just as Jeremiah had written. i came to this conclusion by reading the bible and the insight book only, i was unaware of any previously written books about this. it proved the bible was right, and the society had been lying to us
Very interesting!
In 609 BC, Josiah was notably killed in the battle at Megiddo against Pharaoh Neccho, wherein he was allied with the Babylonians against the Egyptians and Assyrians. Set the timer for 70 years starting here.
4 years later, Nebuchadnezzar fought Pharaoh Neccho at the Battle of Charchemish. Nabopolassar died of natural causes and Nebuchadnezzar became king.
But 2 years after Josiah's death and 2 years before Nabopolassar's death, what happened in 607 BC? NOTHING.

What? Nobody has said a word about Trump meeting May about our countries' "special relationship"?
Jesus, that should be getting all the jobo confirmation bias hyped. Unfortunately, while there is that, it's hardly enough to establish that anything else the Watchtower predicted about this "dual world power" is happening or going to happen.
UN? Peace and security? Religion ban? Yeah right.

What if Fred Franz had never existed?
by Magnum inwhat if fred franz had never existed?.
those of you who weren’t around in the days when he was the oracle of jwdom or who at least aren’t familiar with the deeper publications he was responsible for probably won’t be able to comprehend the significance of the question.
i believe he influenced jwdom greatly, and the whole feel of jwdom would have been different without him.. during the 60’s, 70’s, & 80’s (not sure about 50’s), he was considered to be almost superhuman by some (a lot?

When backing up a truck, one wrong pivot at just the wrong moment can cause your trailer to go off in exactly the wrong direction. From there, it can get ugly and complicated and entertaining for others to watch, or possibly destructive.
"Let scripture interpret scripture" is such a pivot. The assumption that it is the divine and inerrant Word of God is provably another. Millerites have been backed into the weeds for years.

CORRECTION!
Above, I stated that
2520 / 12 = 1260 / 24 = 210
And that is not correct.
2520 / 12 = 1260 / 6 = 210
There. Fixed it. And even if nobody else is as excited about a bunch of math on an Internet forum about religion, I'm still pretty stoked that I just took out a calculator and showed that those funny Bible numbers all the religious quacks talk about are entirely astrological.
EDIT:
One last thing, I can't resist! Hahaha
2520 * 10 + 720 = 25920 (the length of a Great Solar or Platonic Year)

@Pete Zahut how did I miss that?! Dong Lover's awesome, and I heard in his recent NPR "Fresh Air" interview that he grew up religious, but I must have been out of the truck when he said he was a witness. Interesting.
