I knew a single mother in a cong when I was young , who regularly sought help from salvos due to financial pressures. She didn't tick right boxes for cong assistance.

I think we are being shunned

i have not read all the discussions about the recent regional convention where the org is now ramping up the diabolical act of shunning.

i am not sure as to which ‘category’ of persons it now applies.. my wife and i have faded over the past couple of years.

our book-study conductor used to drop by to give us the magazines.

being shunned for you is being blessed. As people age the only thing they have left is pride , the act of humiliation or shunning is the most satanic act against someone self worth or pride.

Three reasons why the disfellowshipping docrine is worse than the hell fire doctrine.

1 - it has far less scriptural support.. let's face it both doctrines are designed to scare people into giving their time and money to a religion but those that teach hell fire can at least point to a number of bible verses that talk about fire and death/punishment together, whereas shunning is justified by one single verse that is simply saying don't give your blessing to the antichrist.

2 - emotional pain is generally worse than physical pain.. ask anyone who is grieving or on the wrong end of an unfaithful partner which they would rather have.

would you rather your wife, child or best friend died while still loving you or shunned you while alive?.

The reason I see disfellowshipping as worse is that you are meant to be in a state of eternal condemnation ( Gehenna bound ). No resurrection in disfellowshipped state .At least in hell you are conscious. Religious scare tactic have tormented humanity for centuries.

do they do this at all?

and is it a common practice?.
