It took a while for me to come to the realisation that it wasn't the truth but the second it clicked I was out of there. Some family members say why don't I stay like people who just go along to there weekend church, my response is if I thought the money ( religion) was real why would I want their counterfeit shit any longer. Then they say there is plenty of decent people and I would respond by suggesting why limit my future friends to one in one thousand. One day out of the Jw courtyard is worth a thousand elsewhere.

i was born into the religion, left and came back as an adult for another decade.

Jehovah's Witnesses act like 'Flirts' with people!
by stuckinarut2 inwe were just musing that jws act in a "flirtatious" manner with people in the community.. they show such "sincere" interest in people when they call.
they seem like such kind, caring and thoughtful people - really interested in their lives and welfare.. people are often quite impressed with the jws manner, and their well dressed presentation.
people (especially vulnerable ones who are going through difficult pressures in life), are drawn in and made to feel special by the witnesses as they call back.. return visits take place.

We were victims of this recruiting method , we tried to sell the story, thats a very good analogy with flirting. I'm embarrassed I flirted with religious motives. Every Jw relationship has many conditional strings attached.

I tried pretty hard once to get a 26yo elder removed for revealing confidential information that was said in a elders meeting with me. I told young elder his wife needed " whipping into line " . The next day elders wife confronted me and said " I need whipping into line do I ". I raised issue before a round table of five elders including the 26 yo and asked him to swear on bible he didn't tell his wife of which he swore he didn't, then I responded by saying there's is only one bloke right in the black book Pontus Pilate and quoted him when he said what is truth.

I think it's a bit of sympathy flaw to tell others are about cult origins . When people get know the real you then a hint of the cult might liven the day , but normal community people don't talk church attendance. Our peaceful life is in our own control.
