  when my husband and i left the religion of jehovah’s witnesses (jws), we, like countless others, lost family members and friends because of the witnesses shunning doctrine.

  If I ever met anyone in the ministry who was really angry with JWs it was always followed by the accusation that we broke up families. The WT wrecking of families will be and is its legacy. I just hope your son resumes family ties before you or your husband pass. I've read stories where cult affected children only leave after death of parents and the emotional guilt trips are nearly to traumatic for them to cope with .

  When a " wordly" person hears about how some children don't attend funerals of parents, they in their wildest dream can't work out the reason any child wouldn't show final respects.

  every relationship, every government ,every religion , the application of different control factors always take place.

  are we as human adverse to this control factor or is rebellion a part of our make up?

  Every relationship, every government ,every religion , the application of different control factors ALWAYS take place. Are we as human adverse to this control factor or is rebellion a part of our make up? Can someone ever be free from some control? I know we can control our heart beat to a certain degree walk fast speeds it up ,rest slows it, jump off tall building stop it. It's just that I was thinking ( which is dangerous) not to many activities don't have a control factor.

  the issue of whether beards are acceptable or not is addressed in the september 2016 watchtower - well sort of.

  it is as clear as mud as to whether they are allowed in places like australia, usa and britain.. 17. what are some factors that may affect whether a brother wears a beard?17 what about the propriety of brothers wearing a beard?

  the mosaic law required men to wear a beard.

  Could you imagine trying to convince a "Worldy" deaf & dumb person by only picture form of the bible characters and asking who were the good ones ,the ones on Gods side, then you would be shown pictures of Moses Aaron Jesus then you would know the good guys had beards. Then you would be shown Romans clean shaven, the Egyptians the same and realise the governing body has no beards . Moral of the story is " even the deaf & dumb were smarter than most of us who where convinced of Brooklyn Prophecy.

  What is the purpose of life?

  while reading the magazines the other day it occurred to me that jws never really had a very good answer to that question.

  because it was aimed at young people and it said something along the lines, "if you believe in god you have a purpose, but if you don't believe in god your life has no purpose or meaning".

  i think that is a faulty analysis of the situation.

  I think on our death bed that our few regrets maybe not showing as much kindness as we could have. So moral of story is to give of ourselves more.

  Two Brothers Living Together - Never Dated Girls...

  they've never dated girls.

  they're "best friends".

  I have a gay brother,they all start in closet.My other brother is Catholic priest. My mum said if she writes a book it will be called" The Priest,The prophet (me), The poof.

  i was at shopping centre , jw family say i haven't see you at meetings, i said i don't go and can't support a group that divides families.

  i gave example of his daughter who he doesn't talk to.

  i said to him our old awake says dfing is pagan practice 1947.i said i hope brooklyn doesn't change its mind again because what you are sacrificing is beyond value..

  There's not much at the end of life that we can have or do. But the one thing I would like to think is that someone missed me from their life and are sad of my demise. These proud men don't realise that it's only family and special friends, that speak of our legacy with emotion.

  You can nearly open any WT mag and its there. But by looking inside front page purpose of mag is to bring about Jahs kingdom,which essentially implies death to those who don't have Jehovahs approval.

  DEATH: How have you prepared? Funeral, cremation, donate body to Science?

  well, hell!.

  i had dizzy spells and near-fainting and nausea for a few days, so why wouldn't i start thinking about death, ya know?.

  am i just very lax in my responsibilities in having no plans at all?isn't that irresponsible?

  I try not to worry about something I can't control. I know biblical history often spoke of respectful burial places, there seemed to importance place on good burial plots. For me if I could choose( which is hard) due to governmental regulations, I would like to be buried on my farm with a baby tree planted on my hole in the ground. A least if I can't produce any more I will fertilise a tree.

  I don't give a fuc.., I between two states ,which I tell JWs I live where my publisher card is not 800 miles apart. My ass will never be hauled before them. If they want my blood they can hang me in my absence . There is no scriptural basis for these secret tribunals. I let them know they can pray for me.
