My parents found out

so in my last post i talked about how i had told my younger siblings how i didn't plan to get baptized or ever be a witness.

i thought i could trust them but i guess i was wrong, they're just kids after all.

my oldest brother (who's 11) told on me today.

Blackwolf, do some things you have never done , buy a lottery ticket , swear when your angry, watch an R rated film, join a sports team, sneak into another church ( but don't join ). Buy a birthday card for that secret friend . You will only ever need one or two genuine friends ( it might seem easy when you are young but ask an older person how many of there childhood friends they still have contact with ) . Friendship and effort are related. You will be ok in life blackwolf due to your seeking wisdom from outside sources.

and to some degree mentally speaking, that is true especially if you were raised in the religion.

at 50 i was out of the organization's clutches.

I do get angry at myself for not seeing the light soon enough but better late than never, who knows without the internet I could be still drinking Mr Letts koolaid. Information is king , I do feel sad for ones who haven't got the ability to search the internet for the truth, but that being said most have the ability now to search. It's its draconian rules toward family members who leave that wake up many . Some say by being on this forum is not freeing themselves from the cult but I disagree, it's only one who were trapped that can fully empathise. We have so much in common because of our Jw heritage that is why I truly believe this forum has prevented some from killing themselves. But WT has directly influenced some to top themselves.

why do the gb stonewall individuals with legitimate questions.

for example, they refuse to speak to investagative journalists like trey bundy, unless they happen to get caught somewhere walking about in the street by chance.. i remember the panorama documentary 'suffer the little children' where the presenter tried to arrange an interview with one of the gb.

i can't remember if the gb either refused or simply didn't reply.

i know you might think i'm exaggerating but if you really think about it, maybe i'm not.

these two religions originate with the same ancient belief system.

islam is a dangerous middle eastern cult that seeks to control every aspect of its members' lives.

It really depends on how you classify dangerous, if dangerous is associated with family structure breaking down well I think JWs are near the top of the danger tree. Because really most catastrophe's don't have a bearing on your family ,yet JWs have mastered family destruction to an art . You know their is big problems when a church allows parental separation on the grounds of spiritual endangerment.

My 1 Year Update - I've Been Disfellowshipped One Year Today

what a journey!.

it was a year ago today that i was announced from the platform by brother paul "twofaced" castley that i was "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses".

i didn't go to that meeting to hear the announcement because i already didn't believe the watchtower religion.. how was my first year?

Pale we all around the world try an empathise and walk this similar journey, the emotional train wrecks we have to pull ourselves from is just heart wrenching, Forgetting our shit past associated with JWs is difficult but little by little it becomes a distant memory. At least you Pale can blame the parents for spoon feeding you this shit, I joined after being duped. But enough of looking backwards, it truly is a noble cause to prevent and save other from joining the cult and Pale you certainly are influential in helping the honest hearted see this family wrecking religion for what it is. Keep conquering friend.

Just like an abused wife returning to her husband, it's that pull factor. Also if you call your religion truth then the followers my believe you control the resurrection.

i said if wt paid prime internet space they could beam their propaganda to everyone instantly, then you could show the world mr lett live , and explain how he is to rule the world from heaven.

then i asked that god seems to like the anglo nations , i should of asked how many chinese and indian are on the gb..

Are JWs "mind trained" to be habitual liars?

i don't mean overly obvious, or otherwise meaning to cause harm, but taught to lie for the purpose of avoidance.

this type of lying can be pervasive in areas of life that are not just to avoid discussions with people who have questions about the jw, etc.

my husband will lie/be deceitful about the silliest, simple things.

Most of us have a one time lied about being on this forum , the religion has a word for this theocratic warfare. Get a public debate with the magic seven then you would see the patriarchal top of WT preform the magical art of lying.
