Doesn’t the WT admit to changing the good news and state somewhere that since 1914 the good news is now about the kingdom not Jesus?

607 date of Jerusalems destruction
by benny ini am confused about the time scale regarding the year of the destruction of jerusalem.
in the 1st october 2011 watchtower an argument is presented to back up 607 bc but there are so many conflicting arguments that this happened 20 years later according to secular sources.
your thoughts please..

Benny there’s tons of info on this forum and all over the net showing the JWs wrong. One easy way is to count back the Babylonian kings from 539 when Cyrus took Babylon and their ruling years to Nebuchadnezzar and then calculate which year was the year he took over from his father. Let’s just say the evidence is overwhelming.

Another major historical JW lie!
by Crazyguy2 inremember when we were younger we would read in their books or even see a drama on how jerusalem was surrounded by romans armies in 66 ce then one night they were just gone.
jewish rebels even chased them killing many as they left.
this i guessed fulfilled a prophecy in mathew and then the true followers of jesus would see this a know to flee to the mountains as the unfaithful stayed in jerusalem thinking all was well and the romans were gone for good until 4 years later they returned destroyed the city killing most of the inhabitants including unfaithful christians that didn’t heed the warning.

Well folks this didn’t happen! The Romans didn’t surround the city in 66 in-fact that’s the year the Jews went in to a major rebellion. A Roman leader dispatched his armies from the north from Syria to try and stop the rebellion was rebuffed and lost many men including siege engines and equipment but they the Romans never even came close to reaching Jerusalem.
This is another major Historical event the JWs have lied about! Of course we all know about 607 when Nebuchadnezzar wasn’t even king until 605. So add this to your list of lies.

The last generation of JW’s
by HiddenPimo inif you take a moment to look at the demographics of your congregation (if you’re pimo), i think you will notice that the youngest elders are in their late thirty’s and early 40’s.. that is the generation that i was part of when still in as an elder,.
we were last ones to work on all the quickbuilds and the big conventions.
we were the last ones to remember the original jw way of life with the gatherings all the time and the books studies in the homes.

This is a cult that gets people to stop living in the real world and live in their made up fantasy. Unfortunately there are young ones believing this crap because they know nothing else. When all your friends and most of your relatives are in it you go along too. Yes their dying but probably more to do with the CSA scandals and people leaving that have finished school like most young ones do. The good news is because of the scandals and the Internet less young ones will go back and more worldly will not join but that’s they only way I see this cult dying.

The last hall I attended 2/3 of the members were over 60. I’m willing to bet in America most European countries as well as Canada and Japan the same will be found in most of their halls.

Alternate military service pre and post 1996 witness policies. Please comments.
by benny inwhat are the thoughts on the changes made by the society in the 1996 watchtower [new light] where one can then accept alternate army service where before you would have to be sentenced to do this.
i feel many were sent to prison needlessly or even executed.
this was not a matter of conscience as the watchtower claims..

irrefutable proof of the great apostasy that corrupted the catholic church
by TTWSYF inwhen the emperor constantine legalized christianity in the roman empire around 311ad he allowed or introduced a flood of half converted pagans and allowed the corruption that sullied the true faith and ruined christianity until a time when it could be restored to the true and pure faith that it was intended to become.
many people here know that to be a fact.
it's a common sense theory, right?.

I’m thinking this scripture was written in response to a sect of Christianity that the writer didn’t like. If you notice the gospel of john is a lot different then the others because it could of been put forth by a different sect then the others and somehow made it into the cannon. Some say the Dositens wrote it. It’s my opinion that much of the New Testament came from different sects. Half of Paul’s writings are thought the be forgeries and many of the writings of Paul and other contradict the gospels so it’s anyones guess what the scripture you mention refers to.

What Jesus' Return Would Mean for JWs, According to the Bible
by Afterburn inon the last day, jesus returns, and 8,000,000 jehovah's witnesses are shocked that he didn't return invisibly.
remembering the account of stephen, they know if they can see him, they can speak directly to him, so they line up proudly to be rewarded for all they've done for his brothers.. "lord, lord," they happily cry out, "just look what all we have done in your name!".
"i know," jesus says, "i saw.

Great post the only thing I see as an issue is some of the other New Testament Scriptures contradict what you posted like romans only saying Jesus is the judges yet in Revelations it speaks of others being judges. This is where the problem lies with me and the Bible. It’s seems as though the writings were not in agreement with each other and were written by different sects of Christianity
