I think the theory is the best we have on how life developed but two things I have to question, one how did life start? And 2 I listen to some math scientists etc and they stated that jumping from one type of species like reptile to mammal is mathematically all but impossible. So im sure on that one either?

What Is Trump Doing with China now and his supporters that smell like a Walmart?
by RubaDub inisn't trump shooting himself in the foot when he is on the verge of (or already in) a trade war with china?
isn't walmart like 95% chinese stuff?.
won't there be a backlash when many of his supporters that want to upgrade to indoor plumbing see how much it costs with all the tariffs?
-
Crazyguy2
Honestly if America is truly going to be great again it needs tariffs and also to crack down on illegal immigration. When the US was it’s strongest financially it had tariffs and low unemployment and because of this we had good paying jobs.
You just can’t let big business ship the jobs overseas and expect the country not to suffer. Yeah people will argue that stuff is now cheaper but really is it worth it? Most people live pay check to pay check and have to use credit to buy most items that cost more then a couple hundred bucks and the items they buy are crap too.
Im not sure if trump is doing it the right way and I’m no trump supporter but China keeps devaluing their dollar and making back room deals with other countries to cut out the useless US currency so Trump has to respond.

Don't count on witnessing Watchtower's demise anytime soon.
by Roger Kirkpatrick inthe fact that there are pomi ex-jws who have been disfellowshiped or inactive for years who still live in constant fear of armageddon indicates that watchtower will manage to exist in one way or another for years, if not decades, to come.
watchtower, like all other religious cults, operate on the premise that "you can fool some of the people all of the time...and that's enough!

Like I said in my post the 4 million number is just my opinion but I base it on observation. It pretty common that cults inflate their numbers. But just look at the year books the only real thing we have to go on. Every year they show publishers and now just count the peek number which we know is bullshit. Also the Baptisted number looks as though it’s added to the publisher number the year they get baptized but the newly baptized one has already been counted as a publisher.
Then consider how many leave, 60 to 70 % of the young ones leave many never even getting baptized. That’s what happen in my hall with my peers and again with my sisters group 15 years younger. So the numbers are smoke and mirrors , more proof is the 3000 + halls their selling off more proof they don’t have the numbers.
So with that said that’s how I come up with the roughly 4 million mark. Just remember we can’t trust watchtower on their biblical teachings and we know they lie about what’s scholars have said also lie about other things so why would we not think their lying about their membership numbers ?!

Their running scared they know they can loose it all in child abuse lawsuits so their going to sell sell and sell some more. They may not be Going anywhere anytime soon but their getting smaller and smaller. They don’t have the numbers they claim and their preaching work is about dead. I mean the cart work is a joke and the door to door is really not working either. After all those that came in in the run up to 75 die off and then their kids which are in their 50-60s there won’t be many left.
Lets not forget that most the kids that grew up in it from the 70s on have left. I’m in my 50s and almost everyone in my age group left my hall. My sister is 15 years younger then me and again almost everyone in her age group also left. You just can’t have that bad of a retention rate for your children and be growing like they say.
Theres less then 4 million baptized jws world wide and their getting smaller by the minute imo, and even older ones are leaving now. Me two of my friends their brothers and sisters other friends they know that are about the same age. The retention rate for the cult is bad very bad and that’s a good thing. And for ever 10 adults still in the cult 3 or so are checked out mentally.
So yes we can say the cult is not going anywhere but has anyone noticed the storm that’s forming out there. The shits about to hit the fan and they may wish they weren’t around when it’s all over.

Zalkin Law Firm flooded with calls from ex-JWs
by Roger Kirkpatrick inyesterday, i posted a question for a friend in texas as to whom he should contact to report sexual abuse from the 1960s by a jw pioneer/elder who is now deceased.
(incidentally, there are plenty of people who are still alive and in the organization who were very aware of the circumstances and who can be summoned to give testimony regarding these accusations.
) so, my friend called the zalkin law firm.

It sucks that victims of abuse is how the cult will go down but it’s also good that this will greatly increase the demise of the cult. Sure the ones in will mostly stay do to their persecution complex but many will leave and the public will definitely know what a fu”k up cult the JWs are. This will be the greatest news around the world. Jws are a pedophile paradise this is what the public will know and what they will remember!

Publisher numbers versus baptised witnesses.
by amandm ini grew up as a witness, and left about 10 years ago, i'm currently researching witness numbers for a project i'm working on, and i can't seem to get an accurate number of baptised witnesses - hardly a surprise!
from their website it looks like they list the number of publishers instead of the number of baptised witnesses, so it totally works to obscure how many actual witnesses there are, apart from the fact it's morally dubious to class a publisher as a minister of god as they refer to publishers on their uk section of the site.
i also am trying to work out how many leave every year, even approximate figures would be great, from their own website it just looks like they try to massage figures to make them look as favourable as possible.

Look at older threads on this site. The year books state how many baptisms per year. They also show how many people are missing per year. Start at looking at these threads. You’ll find the jws are greatly exaggerating their numbers.
Im willing to bet there’s less then 4 million actual baptized jws in the world and the number of ones leaving are higher then back after the 1995 change in the generation teaching, where it looks as though for a few years after they lost about 250,000 per year.

The Church Father's "70 years"
by Doug Mason inin their letter to lobsto regarding the neo-babylonian chronology, the wts wrote the following regarding the early church fathers:.
less than 200 years after josephus, several early church writers clearly accepted that the length of the desolation or exile was 70 years, and no one gives any other length for this event.
for instance, tatian the assyrian (110 to 172 c.e.

Your looking at this all wrong. Assyria put a curse on Babylon after they removed the people then destroyed the city. The king made the curse 70 years, this is documented. His son reversed the curse or changed it saying was for only 11 years so the city was rebuilt.
I can’t believe that this exact amount of years was a curse put on the levant or Jerusalem also as a curse. Either the idea was stolen or the writings were changed.

What is the financial situation for a couple who live and work at Walkill?
by rickroll ini have a married cousin who has moved to work at the walkill farm.

They will be given a monthly stipend unless they volunteered for temporary work then they may get nothing at all. Bottom line is they work for next to nothing and will leave poorer then when they came.

PeacefulPete has the right idea, the real 70 year curse was on Babylon . Most likely it was written about and these writings were later changed to make it as though it was about the desolation by Babylon of the areas around the levant then later changed again to make look as though it was talking only about the Jews.
This is not the only text found in the Bible that was stolen from another source then edited. Noah’s flood , Sampson and the writings of Anumope are just a few examples.

Ever heard of this angel power?
by blondie inhttps://wol.jw.org/en/wol/d/r1/lp-e/1961047#h=16:285-23:710. we may also safely conclude that angels, god’s spirit messengers, travel at tremendous speeds.
thus once when daniel began to pray, god dispatched an angel to him in answer to his prayer.
this angel, although coming from beyond the realms of outer space, reached daniel before he had concluded his prayer.—dan.

Well since according to old jw writings god lives in the Paladese star cluster so how long would it take for an angel to get here would be the more accurate question.
