  Alternate military service pre and post 1996 witness policies. Please comments.

  what are the thoughts on the changes made by the society in the 1996 watchtower [new light] where one can then accept alternate army service where before you would have to be sentenced to do this.

  i feel many were sent to prison needlessly or even executed.

  this was not a matter of conscience as the watchtower claims..

  when the emperor constantine legalized christianity in the roman empire around 311ad he allowed or introduced a flood of half converted pagans and allowed the corruption that sullied the true faith and ruined christianity until a time when it could be restored to the true and pure faith that it was intended to become.

  I’m thinking this scripture was written in response to a sect of Christianity that the writer didn’t like. If you notice the gospel of john is a lot different then the others because it could of been put forth by a different sect then the others and somehow made it into the cannon. Some say the Dositens wrote it. It’s my opinion that much of the New Testament came from different sects. Half of Paul’s writings are thought the be forgeries and many of the writings of Paul and other contradict the gospels so it’s anyones guess what the scripture you mention refers to.

  Great post the only thing I see as an issue is some of the other New Testament Scriptures contradict what you posted like romans only saying Jesus is the judges yet in Revelations it speaks of others being judges. This is where the problem lies with me and the Bible. It’s seems as though the writings were not in agreement with each other and were written by different sects of Christianity

  Has God broken the Sabbath?

  in the early 80's, i remember a district convention drama that featured the story of the guy that was stoned to death for gathering sticks on the sabbath.

  i thought it was kind of harsh because it wasn't like the guy was doing any real work like building anything, or plowing a field.. if we accept that god is perfect, then surely he would set the example of keeping the sabbath in a perfect way.

  the word sabbath means inactivity as far as i can tell and this leads me to ask a question about things god has done during his rest day that seem like work to me.. .

  Crazy thing about the sabbath is that it was originally from a Sumerian story about the gods taking a day of rest for killing off mankind at the flood. So mankind today thinks god set up a day of rest for humans but that’s not what is was about at all. Gods kill humans and get to rest a day. And they call me crazy.

  in the old testament, god was always full of anger and jealousy resulting in the murder of millions of people.

  we’re told jesus perfectly reflects his fathers qualities.

  why in the new testament does jesus show no hint of anger and jealousy and wanting to kill people?

  i have just heard from a visitor to the jehovah's witnesses convention for 2019, that they have been told; 'not to form an emotional attachment to their pets, as animals don't have feelings anyway'.. well, that should break a few children hearts!👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 🥴 😭 💔.

  Do You Think Disfellowshipping Is The Worst Thing About Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  the longer i’m out the more i feel that disfellowshipping is cruel.

  i understand the organization tells parents to not even accept emails or texts from their disfellowshipped children.

  while i was a witness they tried to discourage families from association but there was some leeway if it was considered necessary business to interact.

  I’ve seen it with Ezekiel chapter 26. History shows that the Babylonians were only able to conquer mainland Tyre so in many bibles they scripture has been changed to reflect this. I think it’s an attempt to hide the fact that the prophecy didn’t come true. Unfortunately it doesn’t work because a later verse says that the city would never be rebuilt. On the future bible editors will probably just take that scripture out.

  They have taken out many books and chapters of he bible in the past so I wouldn’t be surprised.

  so it was brought up lately that my lack of faith is partially do to stories in the bible like the one in samuel where god kills david’s first born son.

  the excuse i heard today wasn’t that god killed david’s son no he just didn’t bless him so then he died.
