  John Cedars. When I was waking up he came across to me as evil. As the scales started to fall from my eyes, I still held on to some sort of faith and listening to him talk about athiesm seemed to much.

  In one of his videos, he was talking to a watchtower mole and I was shocked and scared because I was still not mentally free from the cult.

  Now I am totally in agreement with his views and find his YouTube videos pleasant to watch. And also like his friendly attitude to current JWs so as to gain their attention.

  more than 70% of researchers have tried and failed to reproduce another scientist's experiments, and more than half have failed to reproduce their own experiments.

  i didn't know it was so widespread...but it's a big problem in biology/medicine..

  Hey someone mention my name? Yes it is a scandal. Big business, big money. Corporate fraud. There are a lot of crooks in corporate management, of a lot of companys getting paid big bucks making fraudulent claims and using short cuts for improvement in sales and more money.

  Heads should roll and compensation paid in full. No ifs or buts.

  ambiguity is a clunky, uncomfortable word, imho.. .

  ambiguity means "open to more than one interpretation".

  Not if you have been dead for 24 hours. Your blood would have congealed. An ambiguous statement. You should have said, while alive, if you are shot through the heart, you will bleed.

  my name is jacobi, i am a born-in but mentally out for more or less a decade at this point (although it was cradual) and about 40yo.

  i don't want to say a lot about my family, but it is a mix of going-through-the-motions, semi-actives (but mentally in), some who have left for a few reasons and one really depressed pioneer.

  because people fade in and out i have managed to slide under the radar and i keep up apperances of not being all-out apostate but i completed my fade about years ago (it also helped i moved to another part of the country).. i might rub some of you the wrong way because of my views on different things like politics.. i am not a trump supporter at all and neither are most people in my country.

  The author of the book responds to the above question.

  At this point we can only guess, but there are several factors possibly at play:

  1) JW are an official church in Germany now and they may be flexing their muscles. Also, they announced to go after negative coverage last year and they're probably trying it out now.

  2) The European Union is investigating JW's use of personal data in field service and in general. There were headlines about that the other day. My book touches on this subject a lot, so there may be a connection.

  But at this point we can only guess. The book has five pages and they are only going against 7 passages for now, and mainly have issues with the phrasing of the passages (less the underlying facts). So they may think they have a chance at intimidating us, but no way jose.

  @Diogenesister. Most likely the greatly reduced number of witnesses and the dissolution of 252 congregations in Germany since 2013. Trying to suppress knowledge so as to stop further reduction.

  There are 2 things guaranteed to start a bar room brawl. Religion and politics. We can all agree that religion is what got us here and that Watchtower is toxic. As regards politics, I don't know why people continue to start posts that in no way can be settled. It's like if I came around to your house and tried to shove religion down your throat. You wouldn't like it and would either go on the defense or tell me to piss off. Has anyone here been converted to another person's political ideology because of something posted here? I believe not.

  Point after point is pounded back and forth. To me this is the definition of futility.
