This sentence is a key point: "The bad news is, those who display psychopathic narcissistic behaviors are not curable", and not recognizing this (that they aren't curable) can keep us trapped in a dance with a narcissist. I was in such a trap once. The narcissist will give small signs of improvement or enlightenment,... just enough for their victim (who loves them) to think that they may become a decent human being after all. But the next day, it starts all over again. By the next day, they have no recollection of having decided to change anything, or for any need to change anything. And on and on.

His voice itself isn’t bad. He is mostly on key. But the little extra “embellishments” are annoying. If he were someone singing to entertain his family and friends, he could get smiles and praises of “well done”. Some voice lessons from an instructor who is not afraid of hurting his feelings could make for a huge improvement.

The word "preemptive" occurs to me. I think this was Evan's strategy when he filed charges against anyone standing in his field of vision. He hasn't yet understood that the destruction has already occurred and that he, himself, was the destroyer.
