At Luke 22::28-30, Jesus said to his apostles,
"28 “You have stayed with me in my time of trial. 29 And just as my Father has granted me a Kingdom, I now grant you the right 30 to eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. And you will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel."
Watchtower deprives almost all of its 8,500 members of the right to sit on thrones and judge.

Nice point, Rattigan350. I found an online zoom group that partakes of the emblems once a month. I hadn't partaken for a year, so I made sure to attend their group recently and to have my bread and wine ready. I like being with other people when I remember Christ's death, even if it is through zoom, and even though I realize that only a few in the group share all or most of my beliefs. It's more of a "recovery from Watchtower" group than an "agreement of doctrine" group. So, I've had my Memorial for this year already, and may partake of the emblems several more times in the coming year.

"Recruiting the Deaf" a new "Freeminds" article by Barb Anderson
by Dogpatch inthe worldwide recruiting attempt of jehovah’s witnesses to bring their religious message to the deaf using sign language can be viewed as something of a mixed bag.
while they strive to communicate it using the right methods, they convey an illusionary message that is detrimental in countless ways.[1].
jehovah’s witnesses international “deaf ministry” as directed by the watch tower bible and tract society, inc., is no small feat because there are over 200 distinct sign languages in the world.

Below I am pasting the last paragraph of "Recruiting the Deaf" from Barbara Anderson's Watchtower Documents website, and the link to that article. I want to make "signed videos educating [deaf] about the other side of the Watch Tower religion". Can you help me improve my American Sign Language? Do you know British Sign Language?
"On the other hand most deaf homes now have the Internet and access to information has increased immeasurably for those deaf who have strong English reading comprehension. Deaf Witnesses now have nearly as much access to information as anyone else, though there remains a dearth of signed videos educating them about the other side of the Watch Tower religion. However, as more of the Watch Tower organization is exposed online via sign language, over time, the question arises: Will deaf Jehovah’s Witnesses take advantage of it?"

I have created a youtube channel and want to make videos to help deaf wake up from Watchtower. I interpreted for Watchtower for eight years, but I did this in South America, so all of my interpretation was in Spanish. That was over 30 years ago.
If you are an exjw and are a sign language interpreter, please post here on this thread or send me a private message. I want to make a short video on Ray Franz. His two books helped me to wake up four years ago. But my signing needs improving, and I need help.
If you are not exjw, I would still like to hear from you. Thanks.

No, I was talking about something else. I wasn't talking about fear of the organization nor of fear of examining the religion. I had begun waking up from Watchtower. Ray Franz' book took away the myth that the Governing Body was a group of righteous men who constantly examined the scriptures for every decision they made. It just wasn't true. Rather, they took votes to decide matters, following a long-time Watchtower proceedure, with seldom mentioning any scripture. Although I believed Ray Franz, I still had the idea (briefly, like for a month) that I should not speak disparagingly of Watchtower nor of the Governing Body. But very soon, all the injustice I had suffered at the hands of Watchtower, and all the deprivation I had accepted as my lot in life due to being a JW caused indignation to boil up inside of me. I shouldn't have been treated like that and neither should those who are still trapped inside of Watchtower. So I began to "say so" and to throw off my misguided loyalty to Watchtower.

Deaf Aotearoa flooded with complaints about Jehovah's Witness church

Opps! Oh, I see what you mean. I should have enlarged the page a little more. Actually, because I thought it said "1 year" is the reason I posted here. Otherwise, I was on the verge of starting my own thread. All of the threads on the deaf that I found here were quite ancient. Out on the internet as I've searched around, I found some videos made by "awake" deaf, but without captions. When I slow the speed down, I can understand maybe 15 to 20% of the signs, plus the facial expression and body language helps me string it together. In South America, I mostly had interpreted the JW "talks", so my sending skill far surpassed my receptive skill.
I'll keep looking through the threads for a workmate. If I don't find one, I can still make a video... just giving it my best effort. It should at least open up dialog beneath the video.

Yes, Ray Franz' book enlightened me on that point. I went through a phase, ever so brief, where I still thought I shouldn't say anything against Watchtower. That "loyalty" to the organization was so beat into us. Sadly, some who are waking up seem to get stuck in the trap of never actually "turning on" Watchtower and denouncing it,... so they are still in a daze and not fully awake.

Diogenesister, thank you for your interest in my project. I had to Google "makaton". I'd done sign language in South America in Spanish, so this is one reason that I'm searching for a collaborator, whether deaf or another interpreter,... but someone who can, well, ...fix my mistakes. And I'm not only rusty in remembering the signs, but my poor hands now seem to move in slow motion.

I'd like to have help making a video for the deaf... to help them leave Watchtower.
