I read a story years ago about the Taliban. A group of progressive women met secretly to commiserate about their plight under that oppressive government. In their physical appearance, they were completely “covered”, faces and all. As a group, they gave a video taped interview. One woman laughed somewhere during the interview, and she had a very unique-sounding laugh. Someone who knew her identified her to the Taliban by her laugh. She was tracked down and arrested.

Yes, I agree. Why were a betrayal of trust and privacy at issue if the photos portrayed something absolutely innocent and random.
The term “circular reasoning” came to my mind. The longer the sequence of events within a circular reasoning, the more difficult the “circular reasoning” is to detect and define.
