smiddy3, good. I agree that it doesn’t look like it will close anytime soon. This thread is a journey. People here are discovering other people who exist on this planet in a simultaneous lifetime. And it’s much more than that. As exjws, we have survived a “shared experience”. On every page of this forum, we find similarities and also surprises. That we all find what Evans did (and is probably still doing) ‘unacceptable” draws us together initially. But the drama yet to unfold is contained in “how the story will end”. The story will end when it ends. It hasn’t been written yet. I don’t mean to be flippant, but “don’t hold your breath” hoping for it to end. :) Maybe find a good book to read if you long for an “ending”.

That was true of my experience. Before waking up, I’d been aware of the existence of “apostate” forums. But I didn’t linger on those forums, because that would be “wrong”. Fast forward to August 2018. I wanted “friends”, but not JW condescension. I read Ray Franz’ books. By January 2019, I was avidly searching the web and YouTube to discover the world of exjws.
JeffT, I admire that you and your wife did research when waking up together from Watchtower. My awakening was less impressive than yours from an “erudite” perspective. But however it is precipitated, when the awakening happens, it HAPPENS,.. like a tempest striking. So, yes, I agree,... people watching anti-Watchtower YouTubes are already on their way out. How wonderful that we have found freedom, whatever our age or our material circumstances.

Some of the people who funded that American book tour of Evans probably feel repulsed now by the memory of that time in their lives and their generosity toward him.

nibbled, I posted two comments in succession on page 604. In the second comment, I copied a portion of Barbara Anderson's go-fund-me page and pasted it as a comment into this forum. As you can see, in that second comment, I clearly stated: "This message is in the go-fund-me page".

Barbara Anderson has never before asked for donations nor started a go-fund-me. This is her first time doing this. She and her husband sent their own money to partially cover the travel expenses of a young man who spoke out against Watchtower and CSA at a conference in Poland. His expenses were $2, 300, but he only had $800. Geoffrey Jackson was there in attendance, but quickly left. Here is the link to the story and Barbara Anderson's go-fund-me for the young man who spoke at the conference."

On page 606, Barbara Anderson posted a comment. I responded with a screenshot of the go-fund-me page from which I had copied.

After my post, you wrote:
