In my opinion I think she is just young and doesn't know what she wants. I know personally I'm not the answer she is looking for. Her dad and brother are still witnesses from what I understand. I think her problem is the same as alot or ours here. We where so sheltered that once we broke free we weren't ready for the real world. -

That kiss would have lead to more. Let's just say her tshirt was already off.

I see what your saying. Nothing happened so nothing to feel guilty over. When I brought it up to her and she didnt remember anything. I kept most the details from her but she said she felt guilty and should tell her bf. I explained to her "you and I are friends if we wanna keep being friends and you love your bf you cant tell him" Her and I have feeling for each other he knows it. He said something about it one night. Long story but he knows I have her best interest and we are just friends. I just feel bad that he doesn't know but I guess I dont feel to guilty since I feel I did the right thing. -

A little back story. I met this women she was a coworker friend mine (found out she used to be a JW also). One night after we got to drinking, things almost heated up.. She came on to me (she leaned in and tried to kiss me) I turned her down because I knew she had a bf. The next day I brought it up and she said she didnt remember anything. (Kudos to me that could have gotten ugly quick). Fast forward a year later. We are still good friends and she is still in a relationship with the same guy. Am I a bad guy for still being friends with her even thou her bf doesn't know anything? -

Dealing with nightmares
by Freedom rocks ini had some terrible dark nightmares when i was studying which disappeared once i got baptised.
i think it was psychological based on the fact i believed jehovah was protecting me after i was baptised.
i had a nightmare tonight after just under a year of being out of the borg and woke up feeling a bit lost because in the past i'd have prayed and then gone back into a peaceful sleep but since i don't pray anymore i wasn't sure how to comfort myself to go back to sleep.

I'm not suggesting this but since I was about 16 I regularly smoked weed. About 3 years ago I stopped and for the first time in years I started dreaming. They where so intense it almost made me start smoking ago. The dreams have settled down but I dream more now in the past 3 years then I have in over 10 years.

Young people becoming atheist
by Jayk inthis article speaks to me.
it talks about kids who tend to become atheist when they're older if they have parents who "talk the talk but dont walk the walk".
i'm not calling myself a atheist i consider myself more agnostic.

The cousin who said that isn't even a witness but believes the org is truth if that makes sense. His wife isn't a witness. I think he respects his father and it would be tough for him to swallow the fact his father join a cult because the org is disguised so well. But pointing out the obvious fact youre not supposed to do research into the truth should be a red flag. I told my mom I did my research, but wasn't specific to what I read. I simply stood my ground that there is nothing wrong with looking for answers to what the org is about and how it got started.

Personally I didnt look into TTATT until about a year ago. Before that I was just happy to be away besides missing my friends and family. I never considered it a cult or even knew what being labeled a apostate ment. The first family member I felt comfortable asking, considers himself a witness but doesn't regularly attend meetings. I asked "are witnesses look at as a cult?" and he said " dont bring that up to me again or I will stop talking to you". I had clue it was such a touchy subject, come to find out recently one of my great aunts is a complete apostate.

Did You Ever Think You Would Be A Member On A Site Like This?
by minimus inwhen i first started looking at “apostate” sites , i was always watching over my shoulder, hoping no one would catch me viewing “spiritual pornography”.
i found these types of sites mesmerizing but i never thought i’d join one.... look at me now.😈.

For how long I've been out of the org (over 10 years). It never dawned on me till about a year ago when I stumbled across this. I didnt even fully understand what it ment to be a apostate.

Facial Hair
by new boy insince i have been out for seventeen years what is the currant society policy concerning beards and mustaches.. in the sixties and seventies facial hair was forbidden at bethel if you white.
if you were black you could have mustache but no beards.
so obviously you could not be elder or pioneer if you had a beard.. any updates?

From my understanding in the USA beards are not so big of a deal anymore if you're unbaptized(I think that's what I was told). The stance was back in biblical times being clean shaved was a sign of wealth so it was common to see beards. Pretty much what finklestien said.
