So when I mentioned that in addition to the 700 incarcerated witnesses in South Korea there were 70,000 additional Christians in North Korea, this is how it was received and realized I had 70,700 additional people to pray for, this is how the informaton was received, huh...

Did it trip your brain when non-JW Christians got persecuted?
by Wayward Son inthe foretold turn of gubberment on religion hasn't begun yet.
that event is supposed to happen with a "swift pitch", an event that will be unmistakable at it's onslaught.
for the time being, any violence toward "babylon the great" cannot be attributed to the fulfillment of revelation 18.. .

Old out-of-touch JWs using antiquated terms
by sir82 inever notice how completely out of touch some (most?
) public speakers are?.
last week we had a speaker ramble on for fully 1/3, maybe 1/2, of his 30 minute talk on the evils of "rap music".. i don't believe the term "rap music" has been uttered by anyone under the age of 40 for at least 20-25 years.. this week we got another "older gentleman" warning us about the pervasive dangers of "internet chat rooms".. again - didn't "chat rooms" die out about the same time as dialing up to connect to aol?.

It's not just the elderly JWs.
If my JW friends had more non-JW friends, they'd probably realize that nobody uses the word "fornication" these days. Seems like I hear that word at least once a week.

this statement was made to me by a jw who had just left a meeting to present the notion that they were the persecuted christians.

Here's a reversal, but still related.
I visited the Catholic church associated with my old high school on Sunday for service.
One of the robed men in the processional winked at me and smiled. I thought he looked familiar.
At the start of the sermon, we were asked to give a warm round of applause for the new deacon and his family.... Dr. xxx xxxxx.
He performed my surgery 6 months sgo.
My radiological surgeon.

Pyramid - Common Knowledge?
by NeverKnew ini was telling my extended family (also non-jws) about the pyramid near russell's grave i saw months ago.
i showed them pictures of the four sides and the interesting inscriptions along with the pictures of the founder's grave.. there are a couple of jw women who come to see my cousin every once in a while.
last week, she mentioned the pyramid.

In my opinion you'd be better off focusing on modern day Watchtower blunders, or doctrine that links to that era (i.e. pyramid lengths 'proving' the year 1914).
Hm... I'm being put before someone with more knowledge soon.
Was hoping to start with 1914 since it is one element that distinguishes them. The pyramid is definitely in the mix. Should I take it out?

Couple of things I DO know...
1. I was never a JW so my "credibility" rating in this world would be pretty low anyways, wouldn't it? Additionally, I certainly wasn't at the DC where I would have learned the reason for the case being made.
2. I'm a female
(edit) 3. I'd still ask "how does it feel to know that 70 THOUSAND Christians are imprisoned just North of there?" Not to trivialize the 700, but to encourage prayer for ALL 70,700 Christians - not just the 700 affiliated with a specific denomination.
4. I made statement based on what was being conveyed to me. Being here makes me sharper. :)
Thanks, all! Even for the critical contributions.... I can take it.
As a result, I have more information on what they were told now. :)

Don't ever....ever...EVER forget these came from the FDS and Governing Body
by Terry inwe do well to bear in mind that among the drugs, serums, vaccines, surgical operations, etc., of the medical profession, there is nothing of value save an occasional surgical proceedure.
their so-called "science" grew out of egyptian black magic and has not lost its demonological character.... we shall be in a sad plight when we place the welfare of the race in their hands.
[1] 1. the golden age, aug. 5, 1931, p. 727.. the journal of the a. m. a. is the vilest sheet that passes the united states mail.... nothing new and useful in theraputics escapes its unqualified condemnation.

They are not imprisoned for their religous beliefs they are in prison for failure to serve in the army as required by law, huge diffence.
5go, why are the other 69,300 Christians incarcerated? It's common knowledge that "Christendom" participates in military forces.

Technically it doesn't have anything to do with "Jehovah's Witnesses". It's the work of the International Bible Students
I understand what you're saying, but respectfully, I disagree. My child has her own life but was born of my womb. Without me, she wouldn't exist.
