JW's Unanswerable Question & Why Doesn't Everyone Take Them to Task For This?
by Perry inthe one question that is absolutely unanswerable by jehovah's witnesses that actually understand their own doctrines is this:.
can you show me even one new testament scripture that shows how a person can get their sins forgiven while outside of the new covenant?.
most of us are familiar with the one proof scripture that has all the necessary elements tied together into one neat doctrine - matther 26: 27,28:.

So what happened, did I stick to my plan, or go to the meeting?
by KateWild ini went to liverpool town alone.
i went to see the temporary ice-rink to see costs etc, and i saw an alpine bar too.. i decided to have a drink first before ice-skating, no sooner had i walked in the bar , the door had not even closed behind me, there was a gentleman standing right in front of me saying hello.
we had a chat, he is going through a divorce too, he bought me a drink, and we chatted some more.. little did i know, he was there with his new 33 yr old girlfriend, she was sitting down.

Sam,
I'm a non-JW with very close JW friends. Given my observations at the KH, I totally agree with JGnat in an area I hadn't even considered. Everyone's personality seems the same. It's like a flat line. Everyone seems to laugh at the same things, talk at the same decibal level, and they're all disgusted by the exact same things.
You are entering a place where people have been allowed to be themselves and still find acceptance. Self-regulation is required. Extremists are either avoided, or they find like minds.
Do you have anybody who is a non-jw that you can call a friend?

Congratulations on your 1st birthday party and Happy Birthday!
I hope you appreciated the dropped 2 point conversion in the endzone. THAT WAS MY GIFT TO YOU! (lost my icons otherwise I'd give you a wrapped present icon)
It sickens me that birthdays are demonized. You get 37 seconds of well wishes (in the form of a song) and then everyone gets to share your gift (cake with your name on it). Someone may even have thought a little more of you and spent a couple of dollars to say they appreciate you.
Evil? Seriously?

So what if they were wrong?
by DS211 inthis is a reply ireceived from a poster on another forum.
"actually the vast majority of interpretations of prophecy are absolutely spot on.. .
people harp on over this and that that was wrong 50 years ago, but today jehovah's witnesses have all the bible's prophecies pretty much figured out in their entirety.. .

Everything in the rear view mirror has become "spot on."
It's that front windshield's view that seems to have some extra stuff stuck to it.

Journalistic report from the inside
by StephaneLaliberte ini am presently fading out, and yesterday, the thought occurred to me as to make some sort of journalistic report from the inside.
what i mean is that when you stop and really listen to the type of things the jehovahs witnesses say to one another, i am convince that the population at large would be appalled by what these friendly people actually think when they go door to door.. and while fading out, that would be the perfect time to wear a wire, lets say for a year or so, and then, make a documentary about it.
of course, for this to work, one would have to be very specific and say names.

He turns around and congratulates himself on teaching me the "correct" name of Jehovah.
Now THAT'S funny!
After they use the word "Jehovah," my friends pause realizing who they're talking to and say, "Yeah, yeah. I know. I know... so anyways, my point is..." They got trained on Raymondus Martini early on when they still thought I was pretty stupid... THANK GOODNESS!

JW New Bible
by JW GoneBad inthere's a lot of rumble in the grapevine of jws that there difinitely is a new bible that 'mother' is releasing at the upcoming agm.. it would be awesome if we could get a sneak peek at some of the changes.
sure would be nice if some of the lurkers on this forum who work at bethel in the writing, shipping or printing department could help us out.
this would really irritate 'mom'!.

D! I just asked for one and was told that the new ones are not for public distribution yet!
I was told that many JWs don't even have one.
My response? "Aren't you guys a publishing company? ...and don't you guys count how many people show up to your services? Seems like it would have been easy to figure out how many were needed."
Another JW told me that the "brothers were very busy creating the new Bibles in the other languages so may not have time to print the new ones in English."
I'm jealous.

time to reboot jwn??? attn. tech49, formerlongtime elder, others.
by nowwhat? infirst of all let me start by saying who am i to judge, but... i understand jwn has completely evolved over the years, but what i would like to see a forum that has current members and former jw's that still live by bible principles and respect the bible, but are not afraid to call out the watchtower on their practices and revised history.
i think quality posters as mentioned above, after venting their frustrations and experiences realize this website is taken over by athiests.
and punk kids-[ see similar post.

This is a topic I'm on with a JW this week. Help me understand...
Is the crudeness/arrogance towards others really so unnoticable when you're totally immersed in the culture?

this site sucks! its just a buncha athiest on soap boxes.
by crossquestions6995 inthis site is not a healthy forum for discussion or healing.
its an arena for jaded athiests to bash anything christian or god related.
yes, i know the jw's lied to us about god and the truth.

Ah, the Kingdom Hall of Atheism. That's where I feel like I am as well sometimes.
I'm with crossquestions6995 on this. I've noticed the same. Perhaps I'm contributing to the perception in not entertaining the arguments. I probably have a perception that could be of interest and can't count the number of times I've thought about throwing the metaphorical curve in with an explanation based on other scriptures. The problem is, participating is like going to the KH for a service. I'm okay with a person having a belief (or non-belief) that I don't share. I just can't stand the venom.
It seems that those who bash may once have bought into the notion of the scriptures being entirely literal. That's the WTS's fault given their use of the Bible as the strong arm of laws they're trying to bind on the conscience of the adherents. It seems that once the holes of the literal interpretation of passages such as Noah's Ark and the book of Genesis are realized, there's an entire collapse in a belief in a higher power.
In other denoninations, the literalism of the Scriptures isn't stressed like it seems to be in JWism, so I've figured that's the angst.
Oh, and no, I'm not participating in a "well WHICH parts are metaphorical" discussion. While invited repeatedly, I rarely stay long in the Kingdom Hall of Atheism.
Still love you guys... but you can enjoy your own service. LOL
