Congratulations on getting the courage to come to acceptance.
I'll be praying for you and your family.
warning of a long boring post ahead.
i feel like i need to vent my story out, as i feel quite helpless at the moment.. i'm 31 year old, married, father of toddler with another one on the way, due later this month.
i've been serving as elder for about 4 years now in a south florida congregation.
Congratulations on getting the courage to come to acceptance.

in the last few weeks it seems that instead of one or two new posters a week we seem to be getting several every day.
many seem to be long time jw's who are troubled by the path of the organisation.
this is really encouraging to those of us who have been here sometime.. welcome!

I'm sorry... Was laughing and hit dislike instead of like. 😀

In the KH I've visited, it seems that many families are going in different directions afterwards and therefore come in separate cars.
Packed? Not... at... all. Plenty of seats everywhere.
A donation line even... For that more personal touch. :(
And you get an acknowledgment of cancelled and curtailed projects. Surely some people are wondering what happened to the funds already donated for the worldwide building work... aren't they?
hi everyone, i have been lurking for some time now and decided to open the box (hence pandora).
about a year ago i became aware of child abuse within the org, out of curiosity (just like pandora) i opened the box and the evils have been pouring out ever since regarding the org.
anyway, this came to a head last summer with the arc.
Welcome!
Thank you for sharing the fact that you lurked for some time first. So many say that. I can't help but wonder how many are trapped in lurk land - afraid to take that step of introducing themselves.
I'm appreciative of anyone that *listens* so to speak. :)
there is a thread that i'm really enjoying discussing the consolidation of congregations into existing kingdom halls.
i'm realizing that the only threads that have spoken of building were related to branch offices.
we know the wts's consolidations and reopening a are a shell game of sorts but i'm wondering... is anyone seeing an increase in kingdom halls in their part of the world?

I'm not talking about replacements. Flat out new and necessary buildings to accommodate growth.
They can TELL people that building is happening in 3rd world countries. But is it?
so it's official, i am happy to report that we merged with another congregation having the same problem.
why is it good news???
because people are either waking up, fading or just not buying into this organization any longer or walking away.... i think many young ones are just not buying into it as much, i see many in the congregation i go to very depressed and some i know personally going thru major depression especially the young "sisters" in their early 20s.... .
Out of curiosity, how many people are in these new merged congregations? Are the newly merged congregations far exceeding 100 people?
It's been said that the average is about 100 people that's why I'm using it. Merging a 25+75 is one thing. Merging an 80+50 is another.
This IS pretty exciting. :)
my son is nearing completion of his 3-1/2 year chemo journey.
i have an appointment with his primary oncologist at the end of next month as an end of treatment exit meeting.
she and her team are leads at this particular hospital.
As a non-JW, I would appreciate hearing the thoughts of an exited JW because the rationale you would delve into is something that they have to deal with occasionally. Personally?... I think it could help. Maybe you could write a letter about your mindset in the beginning of your child's sickness and your mindset now. Something they can hold on to and possibly file for other doctor's reading?
I'm glad to hear that your child is doing better. :)
i propose that we make pintrest accounts and start openly challenging this crap.. .
seriously.... any suggestions?
this crap cannot be left unchallenged.
Don't worry... us worldlies would look at that and go to the next post.
If any were pious enough to buy it, they'd just need to look at a few of the theories mentioned like Jesus not being God and OH! IF 1914 is mentioned?... it would end up being conversation about what JWs REALLY believe at the next church meeting. Everyone would be up in arms and more knowledgeable then. :)
this laptop of mine will be a month old this week, i don't even know how many help desk calls i've made for certain things, but today, as the same thing happened just two weeks ago they ran the cleaner and malwarebytes and lord know what else.
so every two weeks is this what i have to look forward with the new laptop?
i know they say to be careful of the sites you go to, which are the same sites i went to on the old nine year old laptopthat runs the almost outdated vista, never had to call in just about every other week for that one, btw, it's windows 10 and mostly use firefox on the new one..
I work in an IT department and we use Microsoft products.
I own a Mac. If you can afford it?... I'd go with the Mac. I haven't spoken to a customer service rep since 2008... when my stupid windows-based laptop died.
